- No one is hotter this year than Ronald Acuna Jr, so let's take a look at his true rookie cards from 2018 and I'll rank my top 10 cards that I've targeted for buying. I'll look at both the card image/design, as well as the graded popoulation and gem rates to put together this list of the best ones to target!

Great video! Agree on those top 2. Love the 1981 look of the Archives. I really like the look of the Donruss Optic too. Might look into the Big League in the off season. Thanks for sharing!

Really enjoying all the videos - just finished watching the bust series - which I liked you showcasing cards & players - very cool (and a trip down memory lane). One note I had overall though was I would look at trying too boost the audio volume on all of your videos. I notice each time I click on one of your vids I have to boost my volume pretty significantly. Not sure the tech aspects of that, but thought I’d mention it.

Yeah Bowman Chrome and flagship gold are good choices
A lot of junk out there these days, but some will hold a lot more value long term than others
I thought Bowman had an Acuna card in the 2017 set, wouldn't that be his true rookie?
He has 2017 cards for sure, but he didn't appear in a MLB game until 2018, so anything released before 2018 is considered a prospect card. Lots of nuance to this stuff, but that's a really good reason to understand the "rules" around Rookie cards so you know what you're buying ahead of time.

Theses are pretty much low end.
That was kind of the point. So many content creators make videos about the best cards that are worth thousands of dollars, but the majority of collectors can't touch those. I wanted to make a video about cards that are actually accessible to the common collector. If a viewer likes the more rare cards, then the limited parallel versions are always an option
@@brutusonbaseball I get to collect but isn’t some of those cards not worth grading since grading cards when up.
@fliplife67 great question, for sure some of these won't be worth grading given the current market and the increased cost of grading. SGC has lowered their prices, but not everyone has followed suit. This might change if the market goes up, or if Acuna continues to amaze every year, but not right now for all of them
Acetate cards are terrible... they WILL warp/yellow, don't waste your money!
