Good decision. There all kinds of people in the world. Some don't like monotonous job, because they like to explore more. Some like monotonous job because of its simplicity. I also left job in IT field which required me to learn a lot of things & I realised I couldn't handle pressure. So my personal opinion is I want monotonous, stable job. may man spitting truth! after IIT i got shfited in gurugram (meta) the condition of delhi NCR is at the worst from last 5 -8 years. It's just pathetic. then i was transferred to banglore but except the weather thing it was +1 level than NCR. FINALLY working remotely while travelling with my mom & it was the best decision. All the best for future AJ.

I agree with you. Scope is very less once you work in public sector,however there are some exceptions like if you work in tax department you can get much better offers because you as an administrator your value helps a lot in private sector
Actually...dre is more scope in public services than anywhere... 1- u can go to work on deputations in power grid.. Ntpc.. At very high position. 2- u can go to work on deputations.. In metros.. Etc etc 3 - take two years of paid study leave... So it's a plenty of learning opportunities nd different environment to me... But I don't think cpes is good for ece.. It's good for electrical.. As one day u can hold very powerful position.

I resigned from a public sector as well because of same job location throughout the career despite being in a metro city (may I know your hometown?). I realised that my friends are doing quite well in good private sector companies and making around twice the money. Also, private sector has gotten more flexible, especially post covid. I also used to think whether it was a good decision in the long run? Thankyou for sharing your experience. Good to know that there are people out there who aren't afraid to take a step towards doing what's right. All the best! :)
Even I am thinking the same i.e. to resign from govt job.no good salary. (My own siblings who choose private job started 1/3 of my salary and now they r earning 2.5 times of me,now i am feeling complex),no better location,no promotion,no transfer, no future , no cooperation from seniors,and nno funding from govt. Even not a good chair to sit in office.and quarters are like slum. HRA given by govt is about 1/3 rd of private 2 room normal house . And staff is less than 1/3rd. But the big problem is i am having only Bsc degree,means no professional degree. So quitting job can backfire me .. For many months i am fighting with my thoughts whether to quit or not ,what is backup , what if i not get other job blah blah .. but there is one reality ,govt job is only a lollypop given to people .better to say like chewing gum, at starting you gonna love it but after some tym its taste gone and it will irritate you,but also you dont want to spit it...

Now masters seems not easy and beneficial. Now i use to educate my friend and relatives about this misconception of govt job. Hope they will not be trapped.

Lack of future scope is a big descision of resigning from govt jobs... Even I am working in railway as an engineer and I am also thinking to switch to another job just because of very less opportunity to get promotion... And now i am hearing from you that even in upsc too your seniors working on the same profile for 10-15 years... God...
I am also from ECE but never appeard for even gate 😐 now I am very happy teaching rural and tribal people ..it's much more happier and simplier life
