- I bought the hatchet for 1 dollar at a flea market recently. The head was in pretty good condition already so there wasn't much to do.

Really well done with PRIDE in your work!! That old axe handle had such excellent grain alignment..I'm about to do the same thing only I have no old handle to repurpose..Had to buy one, but it's hickory, 15 rings per inch, has the same perfect grain alignment and will need much shaving down and fitting, then flaxseed oil treatment...
Excellent video. I found a very old broken off hatchet head in the forest and I want to restore it. This was inspirational.
