I don’t typically comment on UA-cam videos ever. But you are so impressive. Iv been watching your channel like TV. Your shop seems like it operates so clean and smooth. The organization is incredible. You set the example for other machine shops and engine builders. I really want to work up to what you do. This is not just entertainment for me. You’re helping me visualize what kind of business and service I’d like to provide down the road. (Just a 21 year old Marine from Minnesota). Thank you.
Marvelous. You have graduated to doctor of motor engineering, integrating knowledge and experience, great ideas, precision and hand tools plus CNC and cryogenics. And, dachshunds. Wonderful video. Thank you.
Fantastic work. I owned a 2002 wax in blaze yellow, loved the car, wife hated it, she said it looked like a taxi. Your shop and work is amazing, every thing perfect!
This guy is an amazing craftsman! I’ve been building engines for years and this guys workmanship and work quality is amazing! I would never let anyone else work on my engines cuz I know I do it right. This guy is the only person I’d ever let work on an engine for me! Wow!
This is nice and clean and awesome!! Thank you very much. Because i always curious how to make closed deck engine from stock engine. And you came with this video. Nice timing actually
Fantastic! And thank you for the english, (very good). That closed deck will help keep the liner true and round, it will help promote sealing of cylinder on the hi comp motor. Love the wunder hund! From Seattle.
Individual inserts absolutely DO NOT keep cylinder round. Even a super precise single ring like CylinderSupportSystem distorts the top of the cylinder but much less than multi piece close deck methods. Oversize pistons are typically required after closed deck to ensure cylinders are round straight and proper piston to wall can be achieved.
The Subi world is very fortunate to have this champion doing his thing. If only he had devoted his efforts to 4G63's instead ;) heheehe... Still watching it regardless.
I wish you would do this with your other engine builds too, especially the N54 closed deck one. Even closed captions would be great. My German is just not good enough to follow completely.
I love watching proper work! The cleanliness of your shop is spectacular. Question, have you found an efficient way to remove the 4mm oil galley plugs from the heads? I have had the damned it time over the years. Cheers and again I appreciate all of your content.
Is the "issue" with the ej257 not so much the close deck, it's already semi-closed, but with the cylinder wall liners being much thinner than the ej207? If you had to choose one, you you choose close deck or inserting sleeves? BTW, the close deck you just did looks really nice. Oh, and larger head studs and case bolts would be an optional extra on top after this? Thanks.
Always solid content and always good information in your videos. And mad respect for your attention to detail and how organized your shop is. It would be an honor to have my shit built by you. Lol
0:10 that Mitutoyo or the Sunnen Bore gauge? 6:17, how close are the inserts to the water jacket? Like ex: .001"? or something or interference fit? I appreciate the "How to's", was wondering how you would go about this lol.
Awesome video 👍👌, I learn a lot today. The channel that you make around the cylinder is for better cooling? Do you still used the same factory head gasket or different? Here in the USA I haven't see a closed deck block with that channel around the cylinder.
nicely done you love what you do and you dont trust anyone ...thats the best choice ...a litlle advice if you want let a litlle more clearence loose a little your pressfit about 0.02mm to let the liners relax a bit .. just from experience.. keep up the dream
Something i never thought about before but does CNC'ing a part make them hot? I dont mean red hot obviously as covered in fluid, but still like hot water tap hot?
The first proper video of building a closed deck. Nice. I've always wanted to see it.
What bhp is it rated for? How reliable?
@@eliasbossert3700 you can push up to around 700 whp reliably

Nothing in the world is more pleasing to look at than freshly-milled and machined aluminum. Beautiful work!
This is like watching a swiss watchmaker. Respect from Detroit USA

How’s that idea going! Hope all is well
Dude I've never been in love with a man in my life until now.
Your videos are so awesome bro I was never a subi dude until I came across your channel
Marvelous. You have graduated to doctor of motor engineering, integrating knowledge and experience, great ideas, precision and hand tools plus CNC and cryogenics. And, dachshunds. Wonderful video. Thank you.
First time I’ve seen someone properly closed again an engine block. Very very interesting keep up the good work
You are one of the fines specialist in what you do.
I never see so much professionalism in one person !

You should be building formula one engines!
How much can you do a closed deck for me in US dollars?? I checked your website but I can’t read German lol
Art ! Could watch this all day. Well done
Holy surface finish Batman! That flycutter is perfect!
Thank you for sharing the process! You're attention to detail is unmatched, can't wait to see what comes next!
I love how I get a bunch of CNC machine ads now when i watch your channel 😂
Andre, you are a master of your art, I love watching your expertise and your precision. Keep up your great videos
Eric, in Canada
Sei veramente professionale. Estrema precisione, grande tecnologia. The beat!
it's sooooo hammerry, i would have guessed it would be pressed in. As always super interesting.
I watched this and I don't even know what you're doing! Just seeing the skills involved is fascinating

@@SubiPerformance .....have you ever MADE your own tools ? (3D printed etc)
@@SubiPerformance nice wideo buddy, can you explain for what you make thats inserts is this is for make more stiffness engine block?
There's a Haas joke in there
Excellent as always - I thought the inserts were the length of the liner until I watched this!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Aaron's Videos they would interfere with cooling too much if they were that long.
this guy makes the best EJ vids
This is a work of art. Incredible.
such a great video, and superb engineering!
Lavoravi già con una qualità impeccabile ciò nonostante sei stato in grado di alzare ancora di più il livello. Oreficeria 💎
Bravo davvero!
This is nice and clean and awesome!!

i wouldnt trust anyone else, but subi performance, to build a high hp engine for me
That was beautiful. You can barely even tell they were pressed in
Very professional and clean work shop. Love the video.

@@trickeng maybe that's why IAG uses entire cylinder wall with top closed deck in one piece.
IAG uses individual pcs like this video. Not a full ring.
Nice machine + knowledge person = perfect
Super inspiring videos man! Keep it up!
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to be so detailed with the commentary 👍

This is amazing to watch! Great videos that remind me of the "How it works" TV Series.
SKILLS and then Some. Great Work.
Excellent work.
Thanks for the information.
That is immaculate work, damn good! 👍
The coolant passage ring at the top seems like a great idea. I was looking at the iag closed deck ej's and it seems like they keep it flat
Your work is awesome
So cool, thanks for showing this!

Great Job!!!
Six cylinder part 3 please!!!
soon ! still waiting for custom pistons !!!
Always wondered how that was done. Terrific! Ever do it on an FA? I want a HAAS.
That was so cool. So relaxing to watch this process. I love your channel
Man, the guy who programms the CNC must be a wizard...
Love his work! Thanks so much for sharing man. Keep them coming.
Your videos are awesome! You are vary talented
Beautifull work , how do you bolt the case halves together tho
Do you rebore the liners because you have such a large interference on the inserts it must cause distortion. Lovely work though.
I love watching proper work! The cleanliness of your shop is spectacular.
Question, have you found an efficient way to remove the 4mm oil galley plugs from the heads? I have had the damned it time over the years. Cheers and again I appreciate all of your content.

Its probably in the -0,00 to +0,003 area. Slightly oversize to compensate for room temperature and cooled to 194K.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Richtig Krasse Arbeit die du da verrichtest..Sehr beeindruckend..Am Ende den Block geplant zu sehen ist sowas von Sexy 🥵
Are CAD files available for the deck inserts?

You do it to strenghten the block to take more power, right?
Do you do this for work? How much will it cost to do this on a 6 cylinder engine?
Did you create the deck CAD model yourself or is it available online somewhere? even a drawing with dimensions is good!
ой да молодец !!! Золотые руки
I see now what's mean professional workshop. Amazing... Really amazing!
Love the channel and the machining content, keep it up
how much power can support with close deck ?
Awesome job 👍
Nice work👌
I just use a welder l, a grinder from b and q. Also a hand file to finish it nice. 😯
Saludos desde Puerto Rico, this is a island in the caribian
Your work is truly amazing. I love your videos , keep the english ones coming !
I’d love to see more Cnc engine content super cool
Full of learning your videos .. Thank you. .. At some point you could upload a video about the Impreza 2007 EJ25 engine
That was just brilliant!! Have you tested the upper limit of horsepower that block can handle?
Sieht gut aus. Aber warum sind die Platten nicht in der komplette länge des blocks? Nur?
Something i never thought about before but does CNC'ing a part make them hot?
I dont mean red hot obviously as covered in fluid, but still like hot water tap hot?
Why do you at the extra cooling ring? Doesn't that make it more difficult to get the head gasket on right?
Tuning an EG33 and keeping it normally aspirated how, with all yer tips and tricks how much power can be coaxed from this engine?
3:45 Very stylish smoking-jacket. :D
Done anything with the EG33 or the FA20 lately?
Great video, i enjoyed every second of it and great English my friend!
Amazing work!
How much machining time does it take to close deck an EJ25? Amazing video!!!!
What tolerance do You use? Maybe S7/h6 will be ok?
is it necessary to put a slit between the cylinders for cooling like the FA20 stock engine has?
Super video as usuall. How much HP is the target for this block?
Simply amazing work.
Did you ever did this on 200thp block engine ?
will i need special head gaskets after that?
Awesome video. Your English is improving.
You make it look so simple!
Fanks for the video! Nice work👍
