The update is only available on PC at the moment but console update should be coming out in March.

At this point, I wonder what's closer - Skate 4 releasing, or Session reaching a point of development where people aren't complaining about bugs or features not being implemented.

@@FastwayIndustries dude it’s the only skate sim ever made for one so of course they can claim the best. Game is far from finished. It’s playable and enjoyable but this game is FAR from finished. And skate 4 will be out way before this game gets to a done point.
Had session for 3 days, and ive played skate and thps from front to end. Session is superior even in bug stage. Im here for the ride. Roll forever!

I spent A LOT of time perfecting Donovan's no bail line, and I felt such relief when I finally nailed it-just for Creature to make it easy to do asap, smh lol

Ohhhhhhhh... left stick turning is absolutely massive for me. Been playing SKATE for so long I cannot get used to the triggers even after months of trying to do so. Glad I watched this video, I had no idea! Thanks mate!
I know we all wish there was more, but just strictly judging by what we actually get in this update, I'm pretty happy with it all. Thanks for the amazing coverage of it as always, can't wait for these updates to start hitting console.

for me I think they are missing the grind impact sounds like when you jump on an obstacle to grind. It was very noticeable on ledges or wooden benches vs rails. the sliding sound is there though. but without the impact sound it kind of makes the grinds a little underwhelming.
sometimes it seems to work if I am going slow or if I jump kinda high above the obstacle

@@dobo8531 in the initial kick starter days we saw some big leaps forward, it definitely feels like development on new features has slowed to a crawl. Who knows though they might have some stuff they're working on that just isn't ready yet.

I was kind of malding from the update yesterday. Decided I need to sleep on it. I had the same problems with the icons tried restarting and that didnt work. Imma try changing the map like you did. Great coverage JL ! 🤙🏼

Best thing about this was the impossibles fixed, at least they actually look as they should minus the clipping. The new chill music was kinda nice. Flip speed seems better and more consistent as well, maybe they adjusted the catch speed cause it feels way more responsive this update.
The flip speed has actually been one of my biggest issues with this game. Even with the stat maxed out, flips are *much* slower on 120fps, so I have to play on 90fps, which doesn't look as good.
It's only fixed for regular. Everything is still fucked up for people who play goofy
@@TheVideogamemaster9 I play on 120 fps and I’ve had no issues with flip speed even on default settings so idk why ur having issues
@@Thicbladi Test it yourself with max flip speed turned all the way up, you'll see that 120 is much slower and makes it impossible to play with realistic gravity and lowered pop height. I can't stand how the game feels on default settings, it's too slow and floaty.

I loading up the game a few hours after an earlier play session (see what I did there) and I saw the hubs and menus etc and I just thought it was so cool really looks better.

I gotta readjust my setting because my flip tricks just don't feel right after the update and they're more glitchy. Probably the board body distance. And smith grinds keep just going to 5-0 or suski now most of the time.
I hope that what they're playing and testing internally right now is a banger because I am starting to lose faith.

Anyone else notice how easier it is to do lip tricks?? And in display settings, turn the AMD FSR 1.0 on. Kind of makes the game more fluid

Your soooooo spot on about the skate shop challenge. It took me days and hours to finally complete it and the satisfaction was intense,so it shouldn’t have been “softened” for newbs…it should’ve been placed far later in the missions when ur ability to play theoretically should be better by then…oh well. Btw…welcome to hell works fine on my last update,,my mission is still the fountain line with stevie Williams..that joint still won’t work 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

One mission I couldn't seem to finish was I had to do any flip variation 360 into Manuel and pop out I couldn't finish no matter what I did

I don’t have a gaming platform yet, but have been considering getting one just for whichever skateboarding game is worth the play. In all honesty though I’m waiting for the animation of running to skating to look legit lol…

They need to fix the issue where, as soon as you go switch and prepare for an ollie, your skater immediately bails.
Try turning off Skater Physical Animation. Same with disable Big Drop Landing
Multiplayer online would make this game perfect just if session made online
Happy with the game as is.

i noticed my pc runs every area at a max 120 fps even pyramid ledges that use to run at like 70 fps for me now runs at a solid 120! plus the imposibles work again!

Bought this game forever ago and barely played it. Saw that they're still cranking out updates for the game and just bought the dlc they released to support them making more content.
Also wanna see all kinds of pant fits, from sagged skinny jeans to slim joggers etc. proper hairstyles, and hair not disappearing with hats and hoods. All about that authenticity in all areas if I’m gonna get a game like this.
💯 agree, the skateboard aspect realistic of skating and city surrounding graffics out the park. If we could only get good customization/maybe recreat legends with actually hair and different faces. Other then that the best real no arcade skate experience ever!!!!!

I'm exited to play with the sticks but I've gotten the hang of playing with triggers when I would play xl I would play with sticks but now I do it with triggers it's more natural
Wow I thought a new map would drop with the update oh well something to look forward too
they said monthly updates for the next 3 months at least. I suspec't the dlc will come at the tail end of those.

My best guess is those things will come when all platforms are on same build. Map is dlc dunno about new pro though
New skater is possibly Chris Cole, don’t quote me on that but it’s heavily teased and rumored.

I think it is when you think about it he has a lot of gear in the shop already with his name on it, he has like 10 historical challenges, he has other teammates in the game. I’ll go as far to say it’s 95% Chris Cole. Which is sick if so I’ve always like his skating.
i had a hard time completing the daewon rock challenge but it was because the quest called for a "fakie fs 180" and you can only do a fakie fs halb cab. theyve changed it now
Fakie FS 180 and a Fs halfcab are the exact same trick, just different name so you were doing the right thing

It wasn’t that the game didn’t accept that trick.. It was a matter of people somehow missing the trigger zones for the mission. Personally haven’t really had much issue with the last part of the challenge but the Nollie flip / switch Bs flip one did give me issues till I landed in a different spot

Finally i can Toggle Missions from the Corner Menu thats pretty sweet!.
Im a bit split on the Missions being DLC though... Firstly the ones in the game are still often poorly explained and i really dont see a reason for it.
Im all up for some new Skate Location DLCS and Stuff but Missions...hmm

Going back and playing skate 2 after several hundred hours of Session made me realize I've been living off table scraps when I could have had Thanksgiving dinner every day.
The physics, the board feel, and the animations are just a few key features in the Skate series that Session will never measure up to.
Session does fine for such a small team but between it and Skater XL, they're stop-gap while we wait for a real skating game.

next month, next update, april another one. This update is pretty good in the optimization department, i really like the new turning, it looks like the exploding trucks are fixed? also getting less bounces on landings.
no map in sight so that will bring a lot of new stuff to the game. we just have to be abit patient
Anyone notice they moved the camera out? The default camera distance setting used to be near, now the default is mid. I wonder why? Maybe it's to stop the camera from clipping into things, but I prefer the near camera so much more. Hmm.
I wish there was a demo on consoles for this. I want to try it out and see if I like it before I commit to dropping $50

I get that this is a “simulator”, but all I’m asking is for legacy controls, or some variety of it, It would bring so many more players in
Front foot back foot input with left stick turning IS the variant of the skate controls. In fact it’s easier than skate controls cause you can be more precise with your tricks and not accidentally Ollie when trying a Kickflip :p think of it this way.. it’s the same exact inputs but split into 2, you still setup the same and do the scooping motions with the back foot but you flick with the other stick. Give it time and it will feel way more natural than the Skate controls
not really liking the new grind sound, but some of the new gear and the board impact sound is kinda cool. i'm on console though so hopefully the grind sounds get fixed before the update goes live on other platforms. also hoping for more reworking of the pause menu besides just moving the experimental options
also i'm hoping we get a toggle for left stick turning before that gets implemented, since i really have no interest in using it
With the welcome to hell challenge maybe the tre flip has to be actually on the basketball court between the two hoops
The location of the Tre flip can be anywhere after the Ollie over the set. I used to talk to the person that made the challenges and he said the only places that need to be specific are the 9 rail, the 4 set and the 13 rail

From my testing so far, I feel like there are some very subtle physics fixes in this update. Nothing super substantial, but I notice that there’s less awkward bounce when locking into grinds, and flip tricks seem to look more natural. But idk. Until they confirm that, it’s speculative at this point. The grind sounds do seem to be more muffled, but i think it’s a velocity thing. I’ve noticed you still get a crisp clunk/schwing sound when you hit a rail or ledge at a higher speed. But it’s inconsistent.
The shitbox caprice classic is fun though and the bench grinds. 🤷♂️ I still stan for Session. ❤

Pros : It's free, it brings new little adjustments.
Cons : I mean 5 months for that. No major updates on the stiff animation, very annoying bugs, no new contents (except for few trucks and clothes) Guess the team is more focus on the Nintendo Switch dev that no one asked but will more likely brings a lot of new players and cash for Nacon. It's still the best skate game rn, but for how long. I feel a little bit easy dayed right now...

Goddamnit, I really don't understand this development team. They focus on so many details that don't change the experience of the game at all, but when it comes to the overall feel, new tricks and possibilities, bugs etc there is almost no development at all
looks like the main story mode has a yellow icon and the side missions are white.

The detection thing is odd because I had the exact same problem on the rock mission but the welcome to hell line nailed it once I landed everything

The bad thing that I found is that the new brands trucks are like standing far away from the place where they should be, like they making wheel base a lot smaller and that looks ugly.

In the replay editor, I always have problems with the first key frame.. It always turn the camera a bit to the right and then to the point of the second key frame. Anyone else have this?

It was part of their original plan for the game, but as of right now it’s not something they can work on just yet. They had multiplayer features in the game during early access but removed them from 1.0 because they were unfinished. So I don’t doubt that Session will have multiplayer some day.. but it’s just not a topic the devs talk about so we can only hope

side pop is even more awkward now, you have to do a half circle and wait until he doesnt want to shove it.
You don’t have to scoop to side pop. You just push the stick Diagonal instead of to the side to set up now. It’s explained in the video
@@JLNightmare just checked, diagonal does nothing for me (true stance settings). i still have to scoop to get into the side pop stance. the window for the input is incredibly tiny, guess ill just hit it with the scoop.
That doesn’t make sense… cause I literally demonstrate it in the video 😅 you do not have to scoop to get into the pocket. you do diagonally down for back foot ↙️↘️or diagonally Up for front foot ↖️↗️

Yeah more maps will be released to every platform, but as DLC, so you’ll have to buy them separate.
No word on when character customization will get some improvements tho.

15:17 Naaah, it's not really an 'issue' per say, and then noticed that when you take back some speed it sways way sooner than before. More would just be ugly, like instant cod FPS gameplay.

Neat little update. Bummer they didn't fix everything they said they were going to, but that seems to be a running theme at this point (bounce glitch).
Also, 10:07 it's should be "OverWRITE" not "OverRIDE". You're Writing Over, aka Overwriting the data, not overriding it. I guess technically you're overriding the game's decision to not overwrite the data, but that's not what most people mean. Incredibly small thing, but i thought it was funny
