Me as well! I still have a lot of Zildjian cymbals but my new favs are my new Byzance sand ride (20") & hi-hat (14"). They're from the Benny Greb signature line. I also plan on buying this sexy Vintage Pure Crash (20") and then I'll record it to show how well they work together. I hope they will... 😃
yeah i just bought a meinl 18 inch trad crash
I had a very nice vintage zildjian set and my dad made me put those on my church kit and then i had to rock trash cymbals for and a year until i could get money for a new zildjian set and at first i had the hcs but now i have the meinl classic dark set
I LOVE Byzance so much and you are such a skilled drummer

Whenever I'm feeling down, I watch Benny Greb.
Just picked up a Meinl 22" Vintage Pure Light Ride: fell in love with it when I tried it out at the drum shop and just had to have it. Just the right blend of darkness, stick definition, dryness but with enough overtones to give a bit of wash when playing steady 8ths on it. And a plus: it crashes pretty good too! Always leaned towards Zildjian but the Vintage Pure Light Ride is a winner! It's closest equivalent in Zildjian as far as I know is the K series Custom Special Dry Ride but as far as I'm concerned the Meinl Vintage Pure Light Ride is superior. Good work Meinl!

I like how they look like they were pulled out of the ashes of Hiroshima in late 1945! They sound great too. I think they actually look cooler than shiny new cymbals.

hombreenojado I really think that most cymbal makers are putting out some great sounding cymbals, but so far, I'm convinced that Meinl Byzance is stealing the show!!! And I still love watching this vid!!!
