  • Have you been struggling with applying a base color and executing a balayage at the same time? If so, you’re not alone!
    Actually, this has been one of my most requested videos! In this video, not only are we creating a beautiful bronde autumn balayge, we are also eliminating what used to take hours doing one step at a time.
    Gone are the days that we apply a base color, rinse it out, and then go back in and apply a balayage.
    If you want to learn how to:
    ✨ Apply a base color and balayge at the same time
    ✨ Create depth that is designed specifically to make your balayage pieces pop
    ✨ Formulate the perfect bronde tone for Fall
    ✨ Save HOURS by doing multiple steps at the same time
    Then this video is perfect for you!

I wanted to ask, because I have had an issue before when doing this technique where the root color applied will fall into the blonde hilighted pieces when rinsing the hair and grabbing some blonde and getting darker than I want on the blonde pieces. @@JamieDana Makes sense actually. :-) Then may I request a video on it please? Basically, I have hair similar to your Mom's (that's how I found your channel) but I'm a bit more grey than she is and I'm in that weird spot of either to keep highlighting it (but the grey is ALWAYS showing through) and the lowlight looks great, but turns to warm/brassy color 2 weeks after. My hair starts to look similar to the color of a squirrel. ;-) Alternatively colouring it completely along with lighter highlights in the front and ends (more of a balayage effect), but again the color used goes brassy. A lot of women going grey deal with this dilemma and would love your take on it. Have a good day!

    I feel like whenever I try to blend my lightener into wet color it makes just an ugly orange tone... or when I try to highlight over wet color... it's super brassy. Any tips for that?! Thanks for this video!!

    • @xxRexyResurrectionxx
      @xxRexyResurrectionxx 4 роки тому +3

      Kelly Klonowski I have the same problem usually. However, she does mention that the colour she’s using is a Demi, so that probably has a lot to do with her end result. Because Demi’s don’t bust right through the cuticle, lightener most likely lifts it off quite a bit easier while doing colour and highlights at the same time.

    • @kellyklonowski2590
      @kellyklonowski2590 4 роки тому +1

      @@xxRexyResurrectionxxahh! yes you're right! That probably does make a huge difference! So I wonder what she would do with a client who needs a retouch with gray coverage and a highlight. It's so tricky because both us stylists and the client themselves dont always have 3+ hours to do 2 seperate processes and demi wont cover the grays. 🤷‍♀️

    • @RunWithScissorsSewingOriginal
      @RunWithScissorsSewingOriginal 4 роки тому

      I am curious as well! Same issues, with permanent color!

    • @yasminekassis9885
      @yasminekassis9885 4 роки тому +1

      Kelly Klonowski you would just mix a separate formula with permanent to cover any greys and Demi for the rest.

    • @kellyklonowski2590
      @kellyklonowski2590 4 роки тому

      @@yasminekassis9885 my question though is say your client is 85% gray and she wants her 4 week root touch up and some highlights... when you apply the root color (which has to be permanent to cover all the grays) ... what is a trick to do the highlights at the same time without them turning orange at the root where the color was applied. Get what I'm saying? I guess certain clients just have to be a double process. 🤷‍♀️

    • @intuitivewellnessrituals

      YES, I am Not even remotely close to a beautician or anything like that. However, It is imperative that women areeducated about using COLD WATER on hair in general. even if your not coloring your hair. I use at the warmest luke warm. otherwise it's cool & cold water. & yes it is uncomfortable specially since I live in Chicago. in the colder months out of the year I have to be quik & careful when I shower. lolol. my hair is currently 100% virgin color. all natural DARK dishwater blonde /LIGHT dishwater brown. I desperately need & want Hi lights.
      I have not been too a salon in over 9yrs. I have researched to the point of exhaustion to find a place around me that SPECIALIZES in color. I am terrified because I have gotten my hair So so healthy, shiny, soft & I need that little lift, the blonde hilights to frame my face. add some dimension n depth.sorry for rambling.I love watching JD.

    I just had a thought about taking this video to the salon. However, some stylists would be offended. so It's a good idea to meet with & have a detailed consult with the person you may intend to do your hair. I doesn't take a rocket scientist to know pretty quickly if the colorist they're consulting with is cocky, know it all, or if they are genuinely interested in what YOU want & will go above n beyond to get tgere. i hope this is making sense. I certainly am not meaning anything negative. I been waiting for YEARS to have my hi lights done
    becuz,I do not have a stylist. I have worked long & hard to get my hair so healthy,shiny,soft & I NEED some dimension, face framing ( money pc) light blonde hi lights on my 100% virgin all natural DARK dishwater blonde/LIGHT dishwater brown hair. I am frozen with fear. I wish I had access to JD. wow, this is emotional. seriously. I really need to find someone.

    Jamie, I loved this technique! I did this today on my friend but her roots came out a little orange because I didn’t saturate it enough because I was focused about the blend more I guess. The only difference I did was did highlights on the Mohawk. Still with a base color and that’s where the roots look a little orange. Any tips or or to fix it?? I appreciate it!

    Do you have video on reversed bayalage? I have a client coming in wanting a look that I think is a color melt. She is all over platinum with some regrowth of her natural. TIA

    But doesn’t the colorance process 25 minutes then done, won’t the color in your bowl be ineffective by the time you get to the front?

    jamie ,but what about when the lightener touches the color doesn't give u like a orange band ?

    • @kkingkaila
      @kkingkaila 4 роки тому +1

      This can sometimes happen and if it does I always just do a shadow root in the bowl before toning the ends and that ensures extra blending and corrects any of that banding
