Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

As safety, you should do holes where you propane tank is.
So when it's leaking (Thats how propane tanks works and they will leak) the gas will go under your car through hole instead, since it's heavier than air

Even better would be to take the propane out and replace the burners with induction electric. Might have to increase the electrical capacity, but for the little bit of use you do (coffee and dinner), bit will be a net gain. Note this is what SV Delos did to their boat a couple of years ago. This was partially because marine propane filling connections are wildly different in each country.💓
@@wallykramer7566a boat typically has more solar potential than a van, a van is more limited in panels but also in storage, the batteries take up space and add a lot of weight. It’s nice to have propane because even when you don’t have power you can still cook and boil water.

you guys don’t know how happy I am that you’re back to Van life. This is how I discovered you guys when I was thinking about starting car life (I’ve now been living in my car for almost 2 years and have traveled the country 3 times seeing 24/50 states) and you guys have been super cool motivation :)
So happy that Kara gets to slow down for a couple months in her home country with friends and family like she needed so badly :) You can tell she looks so much happier and refreshed already. And its important to force Nate to slow down a bit too! haha

If you guys want another unique challenge you should do the seventy48 next May! It's a 70 mile race from Tacoma to Port Townsend, on the water, human powered vessels only. You have 48 hours to finish, and you start at 7:00 pm. People will be rowing, kayaking, paddling, etc. If I can keep on with training I'll be rowing it :)
