Brilliant, enjoyed watching that. The local riders have put a serious amount of work maintaining those trails 👏. Top half looked trickier with the bike taking a bashing whilst that lower final run had a nice balance of flow/tech 👌🤙
Just been today, inspired by this video. Got lost at he top and I think I did one of the ones the local guy told you not to both with, It starts at the end of the climb, there's a little pile of rocks there, and further up is just bog. This trail at the very top has a not-roller, which looks like you don't have to send it until you do. Almost killed me. Then I did the new one. "Much steepness" is a freekin understatement of the century. GoPro/youtube effect at full swing. Dunno how you rode there so fast, blind. Will go back to attack more. Hats off mate.
big up the trail builders for some nice looking runs, looked tricky, chunky and narrow in places but some decent flow on the rocks and dirt! nice riding Andrew, ride whatever bike you like mate, ebikes look great for hills and multi-trail days, defo a nice option to have
Ebikes are a perfect lap/shuttle tool. I always suggest people to keep their NORMAL bikes and keep riding them. I always feel better on my normal bike (weight, handling), but you can not beat the e-bike when you want to self-shuttle laps and realise you did 3-4 times more laps... I really think anyone criticising e-bike either don't do gravity riding (just XC), have a lift assisted park, or simply have never tried an e-bike and still think it is some sort of evil motorcycle/moped *thing*... Of course, my 2c :) ... These are nice trails... we mostly have this kind of stuff and almost none of the "polished" wide bike-park style ones. Even a lot of bike-park trail are chunky, natural and narrow here (in Costa Rica) ... cheers
Looked like really cool trails - bumpy as. Big shout out to the three guys doing the trail building. Its a real shame Argyll doesn't have more biking to make a long weekend of it. Sort of odd as its certainly got the landscapes and its beautiful with all the sea lochs/mountains. Why do you think that is? Sparse population? Best potential riding spots in the middle of nowhere?
Argyll is definitely lacking for mtb in my opinion. For me the main reason is that the forests are planted too close together and the ground is very muddy. My local trails are fairly good, Dunardry on Trailforks.
This is good news that the trails are gettign some attention. I think I'll head on 'doon the water' and check then oot! cheers for another biking adventure. aw, leaving your 5Tens in the Alps sucks!
I’ll wager that with a layer of snow, this trail would sound fantastic. Do you see yourself purchasing the Hero 11? For group rides, having a rear-facing cam would help give the viewers a better grasp of the ‘sheer verticality’ of the trails. Or you could mount a camera to your trail hound? The 1993 round of the Scottish xc champs went up behind the Ardentinny hotel, then parallel to Loch Eck, and then back to Ardentinny. Pretty hardcore. Might be worth exploring with some pals. Atb😋
That would sound good. This was actually filmed with the hero 11👍 I’m not so keen on the rear facing camera view and also extra editing hassle tbh. Ardentinny is not a place I’ve visited to the best of my knowledge.
Great Vid, what size is your bike? I have the vrs medium and also want to change the dropper so I can slam it. What dropper and size are you going for?
@@McTrailRider you seemed to be without the bike for a long time. Makes the case for buying one locally for easier warranty issues. Shame as it seems such a capable bike.
@@Teknobry my circumstances are different because I’m not going through the usual customer channels. I think they are normally pretty good, I was only without the bike for two and a half weeks after I sent it out.
Kudos to trail building guys. It doesn't matter what bike people ride it's all about enjoying yourself. Great video as always.
Here here🍻

I suspect the lower sections will eventually be too a similar standard to the top soon.
Thanks for showing us the trails.
Thanks for watching

Great vid as ever Andy, ta muchly!

All the years I’ve spent/visited in sandbank and Dunoon and I didn’t know about this!!!
Well, now you need to go back for a new reason 👍

03:40 nice incidental Goldie reference there ha ha 🤖
I’ll need to Google that one 🤔
@@McTrailRider just some really old school drum n bass ua-cam.com/video/05iHoucOVLE/v-deo.html

Mine is a large, and I plan on changing to a OneUp 210mm dropper. It’s got one of the shortest insertion lengths of any dropper👍
Good to see you back on a EBIKE, rock n roller looked bumpy, what was up with the motor by the way?
The motor problem was the usual EO10. A load sensor in the motor I believe.
Great Video mate….glad you got the eeb back on the go.
Dunoon looks like has some great potential, any word on the project?
It certainly does! Apparently the project is still a go 👍
how do u like ur vitus mate??
great vid btw!
I really like it. It’s a very capable enduro bike for the downs and is pretty good value.
where do you start from??
how many miles did you get out of thee ep8 before it packed up?
Not sure exactly, but definitely not enough for a problem.
NOTICE: No shock absorber's were injured on this "taking it easy" trail. 🤣👌👊
😂
Did you dropping it in the lake cause the damage? 😂
A rational thought tbh, but the fault wasn’t down to water ingress.
