Animenz, would you ever consider doing pieces/compositions of the recently acclaimed JRPG, *NieR: Automata* by any chance? That is, if you have the time to do so, of course! It may be an unorthodox request, but it would be interesting to see this godlike soundtrack transcribed via your marvelous playing c:
This is the reason why I like you, good taste in anime, games and musics and you are the best piano player of your category, keep going we are all behind you!
7:29 gives me chills every time. I grew up playing this series. I have yet to play A Link to the Past, but for me, it was Wind Waker that I know in and out to this day. I love all of the music in that game, and sometimes I'll even get teary listening to it and remembering how much joy that game brought me and still brings me. Every gamer has that one game that brings back so many memories... as a people person, I always love finding out what game that is.
WW and OOT are my favorites, especially Gerudo Valley of course. Third place goes to the opening of TP when you don’t touch the start screen for a bit.
"But - I still regard it as one of the best games I have every played in my life." You got me with that comment. It's been 2 and a half decades and I still remember the entire journey down to the epic last battle.
This game is proof that amazing graphics dont make a great game, but its more about the immersion, the story that is told, and the memories it creates. I hope the new generation of kids can get a chance to play this and other classic titles before its too late.
I could totally relate to how you're feeling. . . the stress of work, the inconsistent sleep schedule or lack thereof. . .we all forget to just relax and think about things/hobbies that brought us joy before entering the reality of adulting. Zelda Ocarina of Time was one of my all time Nintendo 64 games. . .the music in that game was just spectacular. Come back once in a while and play some pieces you grew up listening to as a child. I'm sure everyone would enjoy it as much as you did. Thank you!
I do not remember when this game came out because I was born 4 years after the game released but I do remember my mother getting me hooked on to this game. I played the game everyday. Ive beat the game countless times. But over time the game started to wear out and eventually the game stopped working. I was devastated... That part of childhood got me through a lot of hard times. It's been 10 years since I played the game. I want to genuinely thank you for reestablishing those memories. Thank you, Animenz.
This is my favourite game, first played it when i was 4. The Soundtrack set standards we would hear for years such as Zeldas Lulaby. I've barely seen videos someone putting so much love in the piano as you did here. I am really thankful.
Rid ley yeah it’s a second place for me. Botw was my first Zelda game and I mean usually the first game you play brings back the most memories and I love that game. I love this one too. I’ve played breath of the wild, a link to the past, links awakening, and I got through half of ocarina of time. I liked all of them but I didn’t really enjoy ocarina of time.

Animenz, thank you. One year ago I saw your unravel video, it was one of many things that made me want to play piano. As I mentioned it was one year ago, I have been playing piano for one year, taking classes in college, along with a few private lesson when I can afford them. As of this fall I was accepted in my college's Applied Music program, I am able to play Mozart's sonata 11 mvt 3, Beethoven's Fur Elise and Clementi's Sonatina no. 1. ApolloZ אNightcore & AMVא Yeah. Althought I'm playing the piano for 5 years, he just inspires me to practise more and more. He is absolutely great. :-D
ApolloZ אNightcore & AMVא | Just make sure if you do start playing piano, don't hesitate to try something, or even give up on something if it's too difficult. Too easy, and you're not challenging yourself means no progress. Same goes for something too difficult. Stick with stuff your level, or maybe a little harder! Most people go through a phase in their life while playing piano where they feel extremely frustrated and want to give up, but you have to push through and find your weak points that make you frustrated, work on them, and you will get through.
Dude, take it easy. No matter how busy you are or how much work you have to do, you can't get too stressed. I mean after all... if we don't have time to just sit and play stuff we like, for ourselves, because we like it, what are we living for? This is amazing, and you are amazing. Keep being amazing, and try not to work yourself to death.
I restarted with Piano 3 weeks ago, my biggest inspiration is your work and your passion, and im pretty sure that im not the only one that feels that way. Im really training hard and practice on a daily base. And i will try as hard as i can to reach the level, or atleast get close to the level, that you are. I know it will take time and a lot of effort and practice but i think me, and anyone that really WANTS do something can achieve what they dream off. I will make sure to see you live when i have the chance to! I really appreciate you and your work, thank you very much.
No apology needed. This was a fantastic surprise. A Link to the Past is one of my favorite games of all time and this arrangement absolutely does it justice. I would love to see more videos like this one in the future!!
You know, this was the first Zelda that my brother and i played and the first one that we completed. That was years ago. Two guys playing the same game at the same time with only one thing in mind: Complete the game and have fun. Thank you man for this, for making me remember that simpler and happier days. Thank you man!

One of the games with which i started my gaming life when i was no older but 5 years old was Zelda: A Link to the past. I still remember the gaming session I held with my dad. We played this whole game together, with him helping me out whenever i couldn't advance or were too afraid of certain bosses. This video brings up so many memories,...
Thank you. This song made me cry when I first saw the ending sequence. It was better than any Christmas, back in 1995. Your rendition made me shed a tear once again. Absolutely beautiful.
the nostalgia! its too much for me. this was the first Zelda game i ever played and one of the first video games I played period. This was absolutely marvelous!
Your renditions are some of the greatest sources of nostalgia that I have ever experienced. Many thanks go out to you for providing us with that feeling that we thought was lost so long ago. This version of the "A Link to The Past" soundtrack is even more magical than the original game music that I so fondly remember from my youth. A random upload it may be, but it is absolutely elegant, beautiful and heartwarming above all else. You the man Animenz!

You have become a real idol for me. Please continue like this, I will always be a loyal member of your community and since I know that you speak German, I have spared myself the trouble to write in English. I'm 19 now and I discovered you in 7th grade. You're part of my childhood and thanks to your covers, I have such nostalgia feelings every time. Thanks, for every video and I hope, I'll be as good as you, because that's my current goal." Greetings Luxtra aka Kira
I revisit this video often, but I read your description of it for the first time today. For what it's worth, I relate to pretty much everything you said. This piece is absolutely beautiful and I can't thank you enough for immortalizing it in this way. I too feel extreme nostalgia for this piece. I grew up playing the first three Zelda games over and over again with my grandmother. She had a map of hurdle burned into her brain and into the screen of her old tv monitor. This is one of about five pieces of music from the first three games that make me tear up as well.
Growing up together with the Zelda games, they have always meant a lot to me. I can still remember how the actual first Zelda game was my first video game ever, how I kept playing it till extremely late in the middle of the nights even though I had school the day after. Hearing the music of Zelda always gives me an emotional nostalgic feeling where I'm just extremely happy and honored that I was able to experience the amazing series as they went on. Hearing this is no exception, ALTTP was one of the best Zelda games I've played and will always have a special place in my heart! Amazing performance, incredible. I would love it if you would upload more Zelda songs!
Thank you very much for this piece of art. It's just amazing, makes me feel nostalgic. I remember playing this game with my dad and my brother and I can tell, for sure, it was one of the most incredible moments of my life.
I know it takes a long time for you to transpose and compose and practice and to perform and record and upload but the time is worth waiting because everything you play is a masterpiece and brings tears to my eyes. You truly make life more enjoyable when people listen to you play. Thank you
Very good. I played this game too much, I kept replaying it over and over again (I somewhat speedruned it). I stopped each game after beating Ganon and didn't wait for the ending. I forgot how amazing is the ending theme of this game. Hearing you doing a piano version of this theme warms my heart.
I was so happy when I saw that Animenz had posted a Zelda piano video! In fact, I had been wanting him to post one for a long time. This is especially dear to me because A Link to the Past was the first Zelda I had played. It brings back so many beautiful memories *.* His piano makes me feel like I am a little kid again. To me, this music does not represent the adventure you live when you play the game. It represents you looking back at your fun journey you had years ago, and remembering those fond memories.
Hi Animenz. As a pianist, I can tell the high quality of work that you've put in on this. Excellent job, very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Sincerelly I do not even know what to start with but as you did with music and words, I will let my heart guide my hands. Sincerelly dude, I think nobody of us can really know what you feel like, but I also think each one of us understand it and nobody will blame you for this. The way you played showed me lots of sadness and melancoly without any words, and you just shared it with all of us backing up us in time like you did; and gosh, that was amazing! I got chills, thinking to this game I also played a lot (actually still playing), thinking to my childhood... I felt tears to come, you transported me. You are not to blame but to thank. Thank you for sharing this moment, and all of the other ones! :)
I loved it. This is one of the only video games I've ever tried playing and the only one I've beaten. Twice. And this was improvised, too. You are amazing. Keep up the great work.
Wo. Yours was the first video that came up when I searched link to the past piano. As a piano player myself, I love how you handled this piece. Honestly the part from 5:37 works well as a tribute to Zelda in general.
In my opinion you should stop to limit your channel to anime soundtracks ops etc. I bet many of your viewers would LOVE to see more stuff from games like zelda other nintendo games or even something completely different like Undertale. I myself would love to see what you would make out of some songs that arent from anime. well but im just a random nerdy pianist on the internet so yeah :D Very good work Loved the video!
I know i'll probably get hate too, but if you could expand it to even more genres like pop. It'd be amazing to see your skills applied to pop love songs, because My Dearest in my opinion sounds fairly pop sounding to me. ( which i learned and love!!)
I really prefer anime songs a lot more, and no one plays them like animenz does. Like Bob said, pop and other genre of music means less anime piano arrangements.
Bob Beans i know they take time since i arrange myself. But what you say is completely true but what ive also seen watching other Creators is that theres so much more they can cover. I mean lets say a new season begins and the songs arent that appealing to the creator, then he just could look at another medium
Paddy's Piano yes there are many pop pianists but how many can match animenzzz arranging tier? Basically none. Arranging does take time but considering his skill he could probably literally improvise a pop song beautifully in a few minutes. Play it on a midi keyboard and run it through a program and bam you have sheets and chords. I think if he took requests and did pop aside from his main anime projects that'd be amazing but far fetched. One can only dream
This is mg favorite game from when I was a kid. This video brought back many memories of me playing this and trying to find all the items. Thanks for the video. Great job.
I was so happy to see this in my feed!!! Link to the Past was my absolute FAVORITE zelda game. Thank you so much for making this! Beautiful work as always. Made my day.
A Link to the past remains, to this day, one of my favorite video games of all time. I completed it more times than I could count. Sometimes I would pick my final save and beat Ganon again just to hear that melody. The entire soundtrack of this game is brilliant but there's something very special about the ending theme. Hearing it now, almost twenty years after I last played this game feels as if nostalgia just sucker punched me. I, too, could not contain my tears when the credit roll theme started. Thanks for this moment.

This is really beautiful.
How much I love youtube notifications for this 💕😄
Dude, take it easy. No matter how busy you are or how much work you have to do, you can't get too stressed. I mean after all... if we don't have time to just sit and play stuff we like, for ourselves, because we like it, what are we living for?
This is amazing, and you are amazing. Keep being amazing, and try not to work yourself to death.
when u came back about a month ago I commented I'll see u next year... now u uploaded about 3 times in about 3-4 weeks.. wah da heck? keep doing it
I restarted with Piano 3 weeks ago, my biggest inspiration is your work and your passion, and im pretty sure that im not the only one that feels that way.
(* _ *) I wouldn't mind more childhood memories from you.
Gabriel Maisonet I would love them
No apology needed. This was a fantastic surprise. A Link to the Past is one of my favorite games of all time and this arrangement absolutely does it justice. I would love to see more videos like this one in the future!!
The Legend of Animenz ❤
Piano of Time
You know, this was the first Zelda that my brother and i played and the first one that we completed. That was years ago. Two guys playing the same game at the same time with only one thing in mind: Complete the game and have fun. Thank you man for this, for making me remember that simpler and happier days. Thank you man!
This is soo amazing animenz never espected that you doing a zelda video wow this is sooo nice i totally love this arrangement too good :3 i remember that i played this game but i cant remember it very well xDD

Zelda? Now that was unexpected!
Thank you. This song made me cry when I first saw the ending sequence. It was better than any Christmas, back in 1995. Your rendition made me shed a tear once again. Absolutely beautiful.
This song is just epic. 100% worth the watch 👍👍👍
the nostalgia! its too much for me. this was the first Zelda game i ever played and one of the first video games I played period. This was absolutely marvelous!
"No Sheets since everything was improvised."
FUCK.
There is a sheet on musescore
Your renditions are some of the greatest sources of nostalgia that I have ever experienced. Many thanks go out to you for providing us with that feeling that we thought was lost so long ago. This version of the "A Link to The Past" soundtrack is even more magical than the original game music that I so fondly remember from my youth. A random upload it may be, but it is absolutely elegant, beautiful and heartwarming above all else. You the man Animenz!
For the english speaker, "I've watched every video of you so far and you've been subscribed to over 6 years. I just love your videos. Thanks to you, I started playing the piano. Thanks, for every video and I hope, I'll be as good as you, because that's my current goal."
Greetings Luxtra aka Kira
That’s so beautifully well spoken, I hope he achieves his goal 😁
Oh, er spricht Deutsch. lol

Staff roll breaks my heart
"HIYA! HAH! HUT! HUT! HUT! URGH! WAAAAAAAAAH!"
>mfw I recognize ALL these sounds from Link
Some things cannot be unheard, haha
true fans never will
btw, where was that melody in 5:37, one of your best videogame music ever, in the game? cause i dont seem to remember
When I read these lines out like how it actually sounded like in the game
hilarious but inaccurate XD. link to the past didnt have link voiced to attack, he only made this sad little *ungh* when he took damage
And a "swish" of the sword
This is fantastic! Great stuff, man! -T.
Thanks for the flood of childhood memories.
Thank you very much for this piece of art. It's just amazing, makes me feel nostalgic. I remember playing this game with my dad and my brother and I can tell, for sure, it was one of the most incredible moments of my life.
I'm hoping so badly that Studio Ghibli's songs are comprised in your childhood memories
me too....
Dude, it's your channel. Do what you want with it, do what makes you happy. I have no doubt that whatever you do, we'll thoroughly enjoy! :D
I know it takes a long time for you to transpose and compose and practice and to perform and record and upload but the time is worth waiting because everything you play is a masterpiece and brings tears to my eyes.
You truly make life more enjoyable when people listen to you play.
Thank you
This is a very moving take on the some of very best game compositions of perhaps all time.
The speed at which i press the notification:)
Animenz's covers are art
Very good. I played this game too much, I kept replaying it over and over again (I somewhat speedruned it). I stopped each game after beating Ganon and didn't wait for the ending. I forgot how amazing is the ending theme of this game. Hearing you doing a piano version of this theme warms my heart.
I want this played at my funeral, while the guy who makes knives out of everything makes one out of my ashes
And the priest has a pig head
I'm crying
*reads your name

I was so happy when I saw that Animenz had posted a Zelda piano video! In fact, I had been wanting him to post one for a long time. This is especially dear to me because A Link to the Past was the first Zelda I had played. It brings back so many beautiful memories *.* His piano makes me feel like I am a little kid again. To me, this music does not represent the adventure you live when you play the game. It represents you looking back at your fun journey you had years ago, and remembering those fond memories.
Congrats animenz you hit 1mil subs!!!
Hi Animenz. As a pianist, I can tell the high quality of work that you've put in on this. Excellent job, very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing this with us.
fastest click in my life
i think i broke my computer tbh
Only your mouse mate... Lol
Wow, blown away by the beginning too tbh. It's just such a beautiful melody that I can see why it hits the nostalgia feels so hard for you!
Who else liked before listening to this?
You have no idea how happy I am to hear you play this. Awesome work man. Hopefully we get more Zelda improvs in the future.
1 Million Subs!! AWESOME!
The hours spent playing all come back to me when the first few notes of the credits are played. It all comes back. Best game ever....
Why did I even tear up? I'm just 17. I played this when I was 14.
I loved it. This is one of the only video games I've ever tried playing and the only one I've beaten. Twice. And this was improvised, too. You are amazing. Keep up the great work.
9:41 I hate this part 😑😑😑😑
HAHA, I was trying to click on the link, but it just brought me to the beginning, until i realized that 9:41 was the end.🤣🤣🤣
@@alexlu07 Me too.
Yeah. Its awful!
Ha, ha, ha.
I have the same opinion.
Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru
I myself would love to see what you would make out of some songs that arent from anime.
well but im just a random nerdy pianist on the internet so yeah :D
Very good work Loved the video!
Elven i think pop wouldnt be something that people would enjoy on here i was talking about other music from netd and geek culture
Great job.
holy shit I clicked so fast on this notification !
notification squad xD
Yeah xD Can't miss an Animenz upload
yeah instant click xD
I was so happy to see this in my feed!!! Link to the Past was my absolute FAVORITE zelda game. Thank you so much for making this! Beautiful work as always. Made my day.
Animenz why did you apologize for uploading this? We will enjoy anything that you post, anime music or not! :D
