This anime is one of the greatest slice of life genre that I've seen. I've felt loneliness watching this because it really portray life. As you age, you tend to change, friendship turns into awkwardness and then later you've found yourself alone. At this point we blur the line of friendship to find that one true love who will stay with you forever.
I guess, life operates that way. .
Enjoy the stages of your life, while it last. .
And also, with Animenz playing this making it more worthwhile reminiscing it.

well I'm kind of a yuki kajiura fanboy so my opinion is a bit biased. :P personally though I would say .Hack//sign has some very powerful and moving sound tracks that depict a person that may be an outcast in society or just in general. Also, each song from .hack sign has a story behind it if you listen to the lyrics. Mind you I don't speak Japanese so I can't understand the lyrics of nagi no asukara just that it sounds beautiful.

So here I was, just nonchalantly listening to and appreciating the true beauty of your performance. So then I figured it was about time I read your description (I read all of them btw, lol), and there along the bottom I saw three words I never would have ever expected... "Dedicated to BaddyDan89"... ;___; I am touched beyond words, simply tearing up as I write this comment.
I definitely think you picked the right hall to record this medley in. Dat natural reverb is to DIE for, and just adds so much substance to this. It feels like I've grown a layer of ena, swimming around the ocean to see you playing this, also in the ocean... Your "ocean feel" idea was presented spectacularly.
Thank you so much for the dedication. It means so much to have your support. I hope to find my inspiration again soon. But until then, know that I have your back, just like (as I've just learned) you have mine :)

I used to be really jealous of people who could play the piano like this. Now I'm just super happy that someone actually has this kind of talent, I know how much practice it takes and to be honest I don't have that much patience anyway. It's great that some people actually take the time and effort to make something so beautiful that the rest of us cry our hearts out. Hehe :P I'm not teary eyed or anything.... ;)

Animenz, I doubt you'll actually read this, but this was the first video I watched from your channel. After a 1 year break from piano due to moving, it was your videos that revived my passion for the instrument. Ever since then, I began to listen to your videos more and more, eventually listening to them several times a day. I'm really thankful that you helped me get back into playing the piano again. I spent a few months learning this piece and although I have trouble starting at 8:04 in the video, I know I'll eventually overcome it. Today, I've finally given you my 1 year long overdue subscription after getting a Google+ account. Now begins the quest to like every every video on your channel, since I've watched them all anyway...

I don't know if I'd call this my absolute favorite anime, the endless love triangles were somewhat unbelievable and annoying, among it's other flaws. But one thing's for DARN sure, it's easily the most visually stunning anime I've seen yet. The "fisherman's town" setting was beautiful, and the overall premise was unique and captivating. And it goes without saying that the soundtrack was fantastic. So for those reason's I'll always hold this show in a high regard, I highly recommend it.

Even though some of us have already experienced the life of miuna and her friends, we still want to go back to those memories. This is what makes an amazing transcription. Great work.

Nagi no Asukara, definitely one of the best things that has happened to me. I just recently finished watching it, still kinda bummed that Chisaki and Kaname didn't end up together (stupid Tsumugu...) but yeah. Art style is absolutely breath taking and soundtrack is beautiful. Also, unlike many romance animes I've watched, it has a story line and all the characters are so loveable, that's what I call a perfect anime.

    • @AlexSKelly-up7lf
      @AlexSKelly-up7lf 4 роки тому +3

I know I'm late af, but part of the reason I love it so much is because it is perhaps the only series I know where you can actually see a tangible progression in each of the characters as the story progresses, not to mention the fact that it skips 5 years, yet it doesn't leave you with no clues as to what happened meanwhile, since it doesn't need to. It's quite the masterpiece IMO, but I guess that's Mari Okada for you.

It's better to fall in love with someone and be hurt than never fall in love at all, because pain and loss is an inherent part of love. This is what Miuna felt when she became the sacrificial maiden for Sea god. Suppose Miuna is the Sea God, Hikari is the Ojoshi-Sama(sacrificial maiden), and Manaka is the man who Hikari loves. Sea God didn't want Ojoshi-Sama to bear with the despair of losing the men when she returns back on the surface, so he took away the Ojoshi's ability to love anyone. But Ojoshi didnt want to lose the children and the days with the Sea God too, and the Sea God didn't realize Ojoshi-sama's feelings were directed to him. So Ojoshi still likes the men, and we know that already (Hikari likes Manaka.), but she didnt want to lose her days with the Sea God too(Hikari doesnt want to lose Miuna)
But the Ojoshi's feelings were directed to the Sea God (Once again, we know Hikari likes Manaka, but why didn't Hikari truly understand what Miuna had said in Ep.5? Which is "if i didnt love, I wouldn't be sad." Hikari should have understood it when he thought Manaka has a crush on Tsumugu.) I think the answer for the relationship between Hikari,Manaka, and Miuna is already given by Uroko-Sama. In the end, Miuna still loves hikari. "Even now, it will bring new life and new feelings" = Miuna relieves her depression (Why did sacred fire burned down the cemetery of Ojoshi-sama? Because Sea God finally knows that the Ojoshi-sama's feelings were directed to him, so the depression Sea God has been carrying finally relieved.)
Hikari x Manaka and Hikari x Miuna endings are both possible because Hikari didn't give Miuna an answer after he knows Miuna has a crush on him. We can explain this as Hikari likes Manaka, but he likes Miuna too.

Great medley. As expected the songs from Nagi are perfect for the piano. The atmosphere and the emotions are properly expressed in this one. Love the crescendo for the final piece when it started. Powerful.

I've been wanting something to remember Nagi no Asukara by. Sure, I have the OST, both OP, and both ED. Plenty of pictures too! But this is the most perfect thing that I could've ever found to remind me of the show that I loved so much. Watching it was a great 6 or so months of my life, it holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for putting forth the effort to create this amazing piece of art. I'll always remember how much I love this show, the memories it gave me, and how it made me feel whenever I hear this medley.
Again, thank you so much for your work. It brings me happiness.

I would have to say this is definitely one of my favorite work from you. In fact, this is my favorite piano piece of all time and I have been studying and practicing this music for the past months. No matter how much I play or listen to this I will never get sick of this. The original song is absolutely beautiful but you even created it even more gorgeous. I’m so thankful for you for doing this and for letting me play and listen to beautiful music. Thanks so much and keep doing what you do the best!

The most underrated ‘slice of life anime’ the visuals and sounds, it’s mesmerising. Just beautiful, I wish I could watch it again, not knowing what would happen at the end. The feeling of re watching something you love so much, it surely isn’t the same as the first time though, that’s for sure.

So i just started this anime and it's amazing! Kind of like a crossover between Ponyo and Anohana (with all the love triangles and what not :P) Amazing rendition Animenz! Once again, another over the top arrangement. This is going to be fun to play...

I'm listening to anime piano when I should be sleeping. I keep telling myself "Just one more, then I'll sleep. Ooh, Nagi no Asukara! I'll listen to that, then I'll sleep. Oh, I kinda want to listen to Hikaru Nara now."
Mom: JUST GO TO SLEEP ALREADY, DAMNIT

I also miss this anime. NagiAsu was a quite good work. No violence, no battle, no guns, but just beautiful scenery and pure feelings. Very different from major works these days.
Of course songs are amazing. I was waiting for it every week. I never forget NagiAsu,one of the best anime.

When I first heard that, I hadn't watched the anime. However, I felt I was surrrounded by sth wide, soft, colorful and emotional. Honestly, it's hard to describe. After that, I recommended it to my friend and said it touched sth deeper in my heart among Animenz's works.
Think that it's more than just amazing. Well done!

The whole time I watched Nagi no Asukara, I had this mindset that it wasn't very popular, it's not exactly something you "hear of" from friends, or see randomly around at stores or in random threads. However seeing how fast it pops up when you type "Nagi" and all the comments on this video really make me happy, I can't explain it.

After having this show stalled on episode 8 I finally got around to watching (well marathoning - 13 episodes in one day, finished in 2). Have to say, it was awesome. Good story, likable characters, a bit silly but nothing that really took away from the show but most of all: great animation and soundtrack. So I'm back again to say thank you animenzzz! Thank you for this amazing medley! I'm more motivated than ever to master these 4 amazing songs.
