I am here to learn about the ENTJ. My daughter is 9 and I have come to realize this is her without a doubt. I would love any and all tips on what I can do to be the best parent I can for her and to allow her to grow into a healthy ENTJ adult. I am an INFJ so this personality type has proven difficult for me to understand, in particular the Fi and Te, because both those functions are ones I cannot relate to. Any advice is sooo welcomed.

So cool that you're starting early! What has made you convinced she is an ENTJ? I'd say the Te aspect at that age might be evident, but not always the Ni :) - she could be ESTJ also.
Either way, Te is about efficiency and 'the best way'. Ni is about the core/fundamental reasons. Combine the two and you get 'what are the core/fundamental reasons behind the best way'. You will need to constantly explain the deeper reasons behind your decisions and don't be upset with she challenges you (she's just asking for the deeper reasons, or perhaps she actually has (Ni) perceived a better way, but can't articulate it yet).
Fi is hard to develop. I had a strong religious upbringing which really helped my Fi. If you want her to get along better with others it won't be in an 'Fe way' - ENTJs don't realy care about 'harmony' if it's at the expense of the (Te) 'best' option, and perhaps never will. What DOES work is if they have a moral framework (Fi) that they can double check their (Te) decision against. Fi values can include being kind/generous/caring to others, so it ends up having a similar result to Fe (the group does feel valued etc).

  • @minelam4676

Introverted feeling is not just about emotions and awareness of having them it is a judging function that is related to Te in a sense of values and moral codex. For example, I know how to do this or get there but is this who I am or part of my inner being, and is this way according to my personal values. I'm a friend with an INTJ and I see his Fi as protection from being an amoral or nonauthentic person. I see Fi as an emotional filter that is defining who you really are vs. what is expected from you to be. Fi is something that can make you more valuable because it holds a lot of depth to you as a human being and your decision-making.

As an ENTJ I really appreciate this video and I LOVED the suggested music. I like how there's limited vocals so I can focus on tasks while listening. And the music is so interesting to me and reminds me of my beloved Radiohead and Tame Impala.

ENTJ here. Very nice, I am quite similar to you. Art for me is interior design, and I do use music for positive energy. What helped my Fi was actually taking the MBTI personality test and learning and study all the other personalities. I can now recognize patterns in people that tell me if I need to tone down my Te. I need to stat journaling, I only do it when I get hurt badly but not as a Fi improvement.
    Appreciate the content.

Wow! Its great that you are so open and determined to develope your other functions and become more well-rounded! Its really nice to see! I'm an INFP and I have also spent a lot of time developing Te. You're right. Te is a really great function to have and it would be nice to see more Fis develope it. But I like your humility that you can say maybe I should tone it down sometimes. And the act of sheathing the sword is humble as well. I found it interesting how you use the word "qualify" as in to qualify your opinions. You use the example of using thoughts or feelings. Though I am an fi, I also use Te and the way I think of "qualify" is actually to not use thoughts or feelings at all. Instead, for example, I would say " hey there's this great restaurant, its got X,Y and Z. Do you want to check it out?" Or "what do you think?" If people are standing around not making up their mind I would say " I think this is our best bet". So now it makes me wonder is this more Fi or Te? I mean, what does it take to quality, I guess? Anyway, love the Jesus example.

intp female here...being faced with entj's is alarming mostly because in everything I've ever been attracted to in people they're all qualities that the entj embodies. When I first learned about typing I was really turned off at first by the stereotype of the entj--that for some reason male entj's tend to be these stallions, which tbh intimidated me...cause I have to actually work on my Se. I quickly liked that the energy from an entj man can make the more low simmer vibe of an aloof intp submit to his presence.... now that I have learned so much more about entj men I've found that they're perfect for what is natural to me in every way and it's hot! 🤓
This video was gold. So much good insight

@@TeNiPersonalityGrowth it is lacking! Lol until there is self awareness on this and an attempt to correct it , this will probably be a problem into adulthood. It isn't always the case for sure and how they grew up can definitely shape this. Personally, i was made fun of as a kid so it was a quick lesson. Also, females tend to learn quicker on this if it matters to them because we tend to have societal pressures to look a certain way. Give us a chance to channel our ENTJ shadow with maturity and turn our demon into an angel and we're quite stylish and structured and the best of both 🥰

In being able to play what naturally came to me and intuitively felt right through guitar/piano, I was led to understand through the sound I made what mood I was in, where I sat emotionally on something while it even helped me loosen a bottleneck on feelings I needed to empty. • @naturalinstinct4950
    @naturalinstinct4950 3 роки тому +2

very educational video, thanks! the emotion chart is the best way for me to understand how Fi works. and also as a fellow ENTJ me using "I think" and "i sense/found" before my opinion is a habit to appear more objective and precise ie my decision comes from rational Te analysis rather than feely touchy emotions(lol), rather than decreasing the intensity of my speech. thus I rarely use "I feel" to refer my opinions, unless they're directly asking me how I feel, because honestly, i didn't feel. I try to analyse my emotions thru Te as well, along with Se cues: identify-> analysis the cause and potential real world consequences->what to do about it. I can't bring out my Fi thru Ni "dopamine detox", for I find if I dive too deep into my Ni I become paranoid and stuck in my head like an unhealthy INTJ and doesn't helps me to identify my emotions at all. to me there must be Se cues present in order for me to reflect on Fi.
ps: I think you can do a video on developing our Se or the TeSe loop in the future.

    • @TeNiPersonalityGrowth
      @TeNiPersonalityGrowth  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Natural Instinct!
Thanks again for your quality comment! A little hard to read as always lol (perhaps you could improve your grammar!) but once I get past that, there's some real gold in here!
Before I knew about MBTI, I used to have a 'name' for my TeSe loop at parties... - 'party Dan' (super lame, I know!)... That guy was way too wild haha.
I know what you mean by getting stuck on your head if you dive into Ni... You've gotta be super careful... that's why I journal - to give me an Se anchor-point. Actually - if you want to be really effective, listen to positive music AS you dopamine detox :)
How have you experienced your Te-Se loop?

    • @naturalinstinct4950
      @naturalinstinct4950 3 роки тому +1

@@TeNiPersonalityGrowth i mainly use it in sports. TeSe gives me more spontaneity and adaptability, and more body awareness so that I have better coordination. it has the potential to improve my Fi as well, for I mentioned I understand my Fi when I dive into Se. Anyway I play combat sports and I find Fi can improve your endurance(being in touch with how your body feels) and give you that "killer instinct"(better at knowing how your opponent feels so that i know exactly when to take them down, Connor McGregor, an ESFP, really mastered that). however Fi can potentially hinder my Te performance so I have to find a sweetspot. Overall, I consider TeSe loop as a tool that can be used for both "good" and "bad". although the general public consider this "primary-tertiary" loop as purely negative.
also, the reason why my comment can be hard to read is that I try to cram as much ideas into one sentence as possible, without using a comma or a period. so that I need the least word possible to demonstrate my point. thats really a Te thing, almost compulsory.

Writing is such a deep need for Fi. Bc its introverted, it needs focused attention to come up and it needs an outlet so writing is perfect. And, of course, art. Anyway you can get it, however you want to express it. Again Fi needs an outlet but it also needs to feel connected and integrated with the rest of the self - the other functions. So thats why art is so unique because each individual is going to produce something personal based on their own make-up. But its usually Fi thats going to rally the functions and demand a voice in this arena. You just have to give him one. So if you don't feel very creative or artistic or this is awkward at first then just start with art appreciation. Te is great at this bc you want to go out and take in information. So go to museums, Art galleries, the ballet, whatever. You can just listen to more music and CONSCIOUSLY DECIDE what you like or don't. Can you answe why? Pay more attention to your feelings, likes and dislikes. What offends you about society and why? Its hard to find an Fi that can't answer that question 😆 Anyway, I don't want to tell anyone how to think or feel. Just hope to shed some light on the curiosities here. I'm surprised how happy I am that you are doing this. Most people have bad things to say about Fi bc they think its selfish. But not only will you have more understanding of Fi's but you are purposely developing yourself. Its always nice to see 🌞

Loving this commentary. Very helpful. To corroborate some of your concepts - personal couples therapy brought up expanding use of “F” words (F = feeling) via emotion wheel which has had a tremendous impact on mitigating the “steamroller” TE syndrome. It’s amazing how much these simple adjustments improve life quality. The dopamine commentary is interesting - the biochemistry behind it is nuts - have you drawn connections to TE? My review of nootropics drew me to l-tyrosine,and phenylalanine (amino acids) which definitely seems to modulate drive.

Hi, can you please elaborate) how Jung said to not directly develop the function but rather through auxiliary. How does this work? Where is the place in his book i could read about it for myself? Thanks in advance, looking forward to your replies>>>

What about the emotional intelligence and entj correlation? In addition while im listening music emotions comes, when music finishes emotions gone.

I feel like what people are THINKING (Te) is very obvious to me... which is not emotional intelligence per-say, but connected... it's a bit weird seeing the world hide this all the time when it's pretty obvious.
Perhaps that's why ENTJs tend to be blunt... they know what you are thinking, so they don't wait around for you to say it.
On the flip side, I can miss the emotional connotations to what I say very easily, so in that sense emotional intelligence is low (Fe/Fi)

@@TeNiPersonalityGrowth thank you for your good answer. But i dont wanna believe that eq is low with us. If i will talk about for my self its about the time. Forexample live the life with people like emotionles for a bit(1-6month, 1-2year) then emotions come and strong and intense from everyone around you. Even so strong for your body and mind. Because of that we are escaping from our emotions as far as i see. And from your perspective knowing what people thinks makes me anxietic.

Do you think it's possible to have HIGH levels of Fi as an ENTJ? I recently scored it as my second highest function, following Te. It's contradicting and I'm rather conflicted.

More insight to me (if it helps):
      - I'm a queer teenage girl
      - I have quite a deep interest for self-development (like learning and researching about mbti and enneagrams)
      Questions:
      - How will this affect my stack? (Te, Ni, and Se)
      - Is it really Fi?
      - Are there more ways to measure our functions objectively?

Hey there - a curious one!
      A few points to consider
1: What site/test gave this result? It’s often best to create a larger sample size (many different tests) and exclude outliers - many bad test websites out there!
2: Perhaps the MBTI of interpretation does not fit you directly (two or three types might have elements of who you are), but the language of the cognitive functions is helpful.
3: Perhaps Te is your parent function (second) that you are aspire to - so you were biased in your answers to favour it (this would make you an ISTJ or INTJ)
4: Generally, at your age, your top function is developed at the expense of it’s opposite, so you are right - it is quite surprising!

@@TeNiPersonalityGrowth Hello! An update from me: for the past several months, I've been working non-stop. I have an organisation to run while being mistreated by my colleagues. Constantly getting the same feedback, my words nitpicked, and getting misinterpreted for the worst.
Repetitively backed up to a corner every conflict we face and my emotions being up for debate were clear signs that my Te getting strained to its breaking point.
I've noticed my functions flipped upside down the past couple of weeks. I'd zone out in class when it's revision week to our final exams. I couldn't bring myself to catch up with every lesson I missed. All of this masked under the reason that "I deserve a break" which was something I wasn't given for half a year.
I have been feeling dysfunctional. I can't tell if I was overusing my Te as an ENTJ causing me to fall into a grip or an ISFP overexerting my Te from the start and finally letting my Fi make the decisions.

@@TeNiPersonalityGrowth Hiya! not sure if you still remember this case: I typed myself as ESFP and now it made a lot of sense!
The Se-Te can really be misinterpreted as ENTJ. I realised that I was most likely peacocking my Te and Ni then ending up mistyping myself.
I take comments very personally, I feel overly suffocated by generalisations, I never fail to bright up a room.
And once I got over the "party animal" stereotype of ESFPs, I started to really live up to the characteristics of my type. It's been giving me a lot of peace of mind knowing I've found my type, learning more of myself in the process.

      What’s your personality type?
My advice: Get a personal trainer. If you can’t motivate yourself to do it, then pay someone to motivate you haha. It also optimises your time at the gym - more efficient use.
That’s actually what I did when I set a goal of getting in shape!

Yes! I really should've done that! I'm a huge JP fan... though a little worried about any controversy his name might bring to this channel (sadly!)
Let me give you the full story on this one - It was my Dad who first gave me this advice - I'd been talking to him about some conflict I'd had at work and (although successful) he commented on the collateral damage I was incurring . He gave me some advice for when he'd been in politics - even though you might have a 'gun' (Te strength) you don't have to wield it - sometimes it's just enough to show people that you have the gun, sit back and observe... only 'fire' it when it's really needed.
Similar analogy to JPs... but his is more elegant I think!

@@TeNiPersonalityGrowth I can relate with the conflict at work. But the just sitting back and observe while showing confidence is such a tricky thing. I really have a problem with balance. Either I am too passive and people think they can walk over/take me for granted or I keep wielding 'Te' left and right without caring about conflict. It is really hard art to master.
