I have never seen someone do this technique, but it's exactly what I am looking to do on a side table top!! Thank you for showing me that it IS possible to have your crackles come through the napkin. All the videos I saw were treating the napkin separate from the crackling. Now I can't wait to get started! You, my dear just get a new Subscriber!
1st time watching..just watched your rope and napkin video..ive been quilting all winter in Florida been waiting to get back to iowa to make pludge into roping, modpodge leap..we leave tomorrow sp spending the day watching craft videos.. I'd LOVE to join the napkin club
If you d0nt mind ,there is a newer way I just learned about.You put your decopodge on the flat surface item your decorating let it dry completely.place your napkin or paper down then take a piece of parchment paper and place it on top ,iron it on low heat for a min or two and your done ,no wrinkles either.if there an area that didn't stick all the way just repeat.

I made a sign with glue and it's still just like the day I made it. Much cheaper than crackle medium.
Do you just paint it on like the crackle medium and follow same instructions as the video?

what are you using as a "top coat" over the napkin. I didn't hear if you mentioned what you were using. thank you BTW new to your channel.
I top coat the dried napkin with a thin even layer of Mod Podge matte.
