  • In the fifth video of our "What's HELP Got To Do With It?" series, Dr. Columbus Batiste interviews Kenneth (Kenny) Anderson about the importance of attending The HELP Conference, this March 24-26, 2024 in Huntsville, AL. Kenneth Anderson is the very first Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for the City of Huntsville.
The Health Equity and Lifestyle Project (HELP) conference will explore health disparities in the African American Community, and is presented by The Plantrician Project (TPP) in partnership with Healthy Heart Nation (HHN).
Understanding that where we live, work, play, pray and eat all play a role in positive health outcomes, the HELP conference will bring together a diverse group of clinical experts and researchers to discuss the relationship between stress and food insecurities on health disparities.
The HELP conference will also converge national leaders in business, faith sector, education, hospital administration, etc. to discuss the role of each sector in building the health of the community. We invite you to come join this conference and be a part of a viable and sustained solution to improve health outcomes.
Kenneth will be presenting "Session 9 - Couch Conversations: Halting the Epidemic of Alzheimer’s by Building Resilient Communities" with Drs. Scott Stoll and Ayesha & Dean Sherzai on Monday, March 25th.
This session brings together leaders of faith-based organizations to discuss the intersection between theology, science, and public health and discover opportunities for faith based organizations to positively impact the health of the communities.

"How can we truly invest and talk about building community unless we form a community? We have to first be the community that we want to see in the world. So we have to come together and do that." - Columbus Batiste, MD
