You know, Much like in life, Risk works out better for you if you focus on building up your own situation instead of prioritizing tearing down others.
Recently I saw a post of someone genuinely asking why anyone would let other players keep bonuses and not break every chance they have because "Isn't that the point of the game?".
I think the problem is new people see it as a 1v5 not a FFA so they prioritize over attacking instead of seeing it as a game of survival, negotiations and building up.
Yep. FFA games are a microcosm of a market rather than strictly zero sum
Easy way to look at it is if it costs you 1 resource to take one resource off one other player, *you* are effectively making the 4 other players more powerful against you.
I think I finally cracked Pete's code. He is not asking "what is up, risk takers?". He is asking if risk takers are the thing that is up. As in "What is up? Risk takers?"

You said about Yellow "Breaking two neighbors at once is a way to get teamed on".
At the end, you break Purple and Black through middle East, then they both left you with almost nothing.
I wonder, if it would have been less risky to just break Purple and not Black ? I don't know.

There is a difference between attacking two neighbors during the opening few turns compared to attacking two neighbors who have been at war for most of the game. Purple and black had built a solid feud between the two of them which prevented them from properly addressing Pete.
@@desyncer That was what I was going to say. Being aggressive early and getting teamed on early is an easy death, and mostly because people don't want to deal with that player's hothead bs all game.
-28 on a 3 cap is insane! Is that a slider error from putting it to max with a ton of attacking troops?
I would definitely think so. This is one of the strongest examples of balanced blitz caps dice being broken that I have seen yet.

Sir Pete, what is the average watch time on your channel? Anecdotally there are many of us that stay until the credits roll.

have we all given up on them "fixing" the caps and just accepted the game is now more random then ever.
We are not the ones who fix the caps, so it's not up to us to give up. I wish it was.
The devs in their most recent q and a did say that working on the dice code will not be coming in the near future.
Capitals already stalemate too much. If they fix dice rolls, that only makes stalemating worse. I think there is little chance we see a fix until they find another solution for stalemating.

@@TheKillPeteStrategy I’d love to see a mode where bonuses scaled in addition to cards.
Some kind of max limit for capitals would also be great - keep them strong early game but don’t allow them to scale infinitely

Does he have the ear of the devs yet? Are there going to be planet of the apes maps/figures? I had to get the murder Dib mouse and cheese dice. But honestly a bigger fan of the planet of the apes franchise. I've only won 7 games but I'm on a 4 game win streak. We just ignor the first 50/60 games that I lost every game. I got really good at getting second. I'm still really good at only getting second.

I think black was happy to play for 2nd until you took Orient from him. Seems like he wanted to trade in South Russia and try to card block purple. He was master, so it seems like a reasonable enough conclusion to draw. Could be wrong though.

Purple trying to guard the black kill cost him the game. If it kills black there before he attacked Pete he would have gotten a trade possibly two or at least another on the next turn.
Purple was going to lose anyway because he wad too slow in the fog
