The Muiderslot Castle, build in 1285 by Floris V.
Demolished in 1300
From 1363 onwards a new castle was build on the remains
The Knights Hall is the beating heart. The place where guests were received in style. The place where the lord of the castle acted as a judge.
In the 17th century P.C. Hooft spend his summers for 38 years at the castle
Later it was used as a prison, abandoned and almost demolished
Saved by the Dutch king and later restored
Since 1878 it's a national museum offering a glimpse in the Dutch Golden Age
