Don't forget the general hoyo audience, more specifically the Hi3 fandom.. "If I had a nickel for everytime a lady sacrificed herself and is in someway, shape or form is related to fire..."
The fact Lucy immediately cried just when Caesar sacrificed herself shows how much she cared about her, but then, she somehow survived Damn Lucy and Caesar have a good connection with each other
They got me with this scene, the way Caesar looked back at Lucy and Lucy breaking down. Also I know some will find it off putting because Caesar survive and she should've died or some bs, but personally I love the consistent inconsistencies of these portals. Let me list down some of them that we had. Chapter 1: First meeting with the Dead end butcher after catching up with the kid we feel in the random portal that leads to the discovery of the civilians Chapter 2 Interlude: The portal inside the crane that Zhu Yuan and Qingyi jumped into (which even if you argue they know because phaethon is guiding them at the time of cutscene it wasnt open until the last second) Chapter 3: During the First encounter with one of the ballet sisters, phaethon had to throw away the playback device to a random portal that happens to be nearby to break the fight Undercover R&B: Jane risking it and throwing the guard on the area where there are warning of spatial fissure opening (it was offscreen but hey the kid survived) Lastly, this one. Iirc this is the first time we got an explanation on how or why a spatial fissure was in there it also ties up nicely on the reason how did the first overlord survived
Given how Caesar’s scarf was burning, her scarf probably touched the flames before the Sparkstone went off. Caesar was already falling down so fast, the gravity and momentum must have greater than the pushback from the explosion. The motorcycle was behind Caesar, so as the explosion pushed her back, she must have grabbed onto the bike. At the same time, the heat from the Explosion must have been cancelled out from the heat in Cinder Lake, creating a small “bubble” from where the Sparkstone exploded. Although Caesar was at the center of the “bubble” she fell down, the heat vent got pushed back by the bubble, up to the point where the rift in Cinder Lake was “inside” the bubble as it reached maximum expansion Near the end of these instantaneous sequence of events, Caesar and bike fell down above the fissure, before the lava fell back into the displaced space. It’s convoluted, but I think that’s how Caesar, back on the motorbike she already jumped, “Rose from the Ashes”, with only a singed scarf to show.
As to why lava wasn’t constantly dripping from the sky, the common element with all the “unexpected” fissures above involves “someone entering at a fast-moving speed”, which also supports my “bubble” theory, since there wasn’t any lava coming out with Caesar when she dropped out the exit.
Something to add to this they set up there was a Fissure there when we get to the new location. When we are told about those handicraft about the first overlord everyone thought he had died when he did what Caesar did. Yet he showed up safe a day later. The Fissure has ALWAYS been there just no one knew about it.
It would have such more meaning of she died there, because of the music, Lighter reaction, Lucy breaking down. Some would be mad too, but it's part of it. Personally, I would accepted as one the most epics sacrifices in games if she died, but, I can't say I'm disappointed that she survives, and they put a decent background for that too Our biker leader will live to fight another day.
@@JohnnieWalker-wf2dc There are two extremes to this: If she dies, this would heavily impact Lucy and the rest of SoC and maybe even parts of the Outer Ring. Lucy would be forced to a heavy decision of not just taking up SoC but also as acting Overlord that would probably cripple her character mentally, although she thinks she's ready to take up SoC, it doesn't seem like she planned to take up Overlord. She'd also probably be a different person afterweards, probably due to guilt or to duty to uphold Ceasr's legacy. Her reaction here would be a lasting scar and the feeling it would make playing Ceasar as an agent different than when she was alive. On the other hand, Ceasar living completes this chapter's character development of her. She has pondered whether she possesses the skills that Pompey and Lucy has only for her to realize that she too is her own strength. Not to mention that she wanted to be an Overlord to help others and ensure the prosperity between gangs and the rest of the Outer Ring. It also ties in with the foreshadowing aspects of the story of first Overlord, which would make her as much of a legend as she would be if she died cuz she'd be an embodiment of that story. Personally, any of these outcomes would've made a somewhat equal lasting impression one way or another because of how fleshed out this chapter is atm. Even if Ceasar living didn't give you an already big enough meaning, the small cutscene with Wise, Belle and Miyabi would make up for it.

Caesar perfect parried that lava and gained shielding for 60 secs, thus surviving the pit lol!, but seriously, this scene was so amazing, made me shed tears seeing Caesar look back while Lucy was crying a river, the whole Caesar and Lucy dynamic is so memorable
They hint at this in the beginning of the story were they talk about the first overlord, riding into the middle and coming back alive, it hit so hard after realizing that, even though it was a fissure. Caesar like the first overlord saved the land~.
While the JP dub is by no means bad, I feel the portrayal in EN is more fitting for this game and this cutscene is one of many examples. Caesar's inner monologue sounded angrier in JP compared to the more remorseful portrayal in EN; her return line "Yo, we meet again." had too much nonchalance in JP, where as the EN version made her sound more awkward but in a good way, like she didn't know what else to say. Moving on from Caesar, Lucy's JP voice had the very ojou inflection of "desuwa" at the end of her sentences, which didn't quite fit in some scenes. It would make sense when she's trying to maintain her composure when talking to people for business but not here, where she's in a panic about what's about to happen to Caesar. Plus, I figured she would've learned to lessen the use of it in the time she's spent with the Sons of Calydon. Since English doesn't quite have an equivalent, normal English dialogue works for her. Lastly, LIGHTER. In the JP dub, he sounds more like he's calling out his boss for thinking of something stupid, like he's lecturing her; but here, in the EN dub, he has this tone of rising panic when he says "Wait, no....Caesar, you can't mean--!" as he puts the pieces together. Big props to the EN cast.
At 1:01, 1:03, 1:07, 1:11, 2:052:15 & 2:25 Aww, Lucy is so cute and precious here when she shows that deep down, she really do desperately cares about Caesar! Before this she acts like she doesn't really care about her and wants to replace her as Leader. It's almost like the Leo & Raph dynamic from TMNT. The way she desperately said, "Ceasar! Ugh, STOP!" in a pleading heartbroken way...😩🥺😥😰😭💔
The animation, the soundtrack... And Lucy's scream was the cherry on top. It's all just so well done. I kinda wanted them to hug so hard afterwards, but works for me anyways(?) Great scene
For everyone wondering what the song is at the end, it's called "Tour de Inferno" and was released in the in game music player with 1.3 update. The full version has been uploaded to UA-cam!
It was obvious to the players, given the legend of the first biker, that she would never die, but she was still a brave person capable of sacrificing her life for the good of the citizens. Caesar is the coolest.
I love how we only get so much we get lucy breaking down about caesar & caesar's return getting the Rest afterward through the characters mentioning it
For a brief moment I thought she would not make it. It would not be the first time a game allows you to play with characters which are canonically dead. I was legit crying like Lucy.
So far the two best scenes to me are "Ceasar's Sacrifice" (Officially called "Rise from the Ashes", and "Belobog's Emergency Command" (Officially "Prototype, Reboot"). The way the characters talk and move, the sound and music going dull and the jumping back in at key moments, these scenes just hit harder than the conclusions of the other chapters.
At first I was like “There’s the crippling depression I remember from Honkai Impact 3rd” But it seems Mihoyo has learnt that killing off beloved characters over and over is not so much fun for the community.
That she literally got saved IN THE NICK OF TIME actually makes this much more interesting than if she simply died. As said in the beginning, that makes for an epic story.
I didn't really think I would get attached to the Sons of Calydon because I'm not big on the whole biker vibe, but damn if I didn't love every single one of them by the end of this chapter.
Caesar is going to sacrifice herself: New Players (GI, ZZZ - Players who haven't been emotionally experienced with death characters): Noooo.... Why... Players before HI3rd (GI, HSR - players who are already emotionally experienced with death characters): DAMN, HOYO! You barely killed the key characters! But sometimes they return! Veteran Captain Honkai: *PTSD Intensifies* Caesar returned and alive: Every player: *Kicking one of the devs because of their ideas* Veteran Honkai Captain: *PTSD Intensifies, Reminding Farewell Penacony*
Those who can read: Yeah, legend about first overlord was on purpose after all. This what we call on our language "Chekhov's gun" (Idk call it right on English)
I just tell Honkai Impact players that they are lucky their characters die because as a player of SR, GI, and ZZZ, I must say that this 'death' simply makes no sense. Caesar should have died, no matter who it hurts, it's a fact. Caesar logically should have died at this moment, pulling a portal out of nowhere shows that Hoyoverse is cowardly when it comes to killing characters in their games outside of Honkai Impact. And well, what surprises me if we talk about the company that, apart from making a terrible representation of Latin America (and before you ask, yes, I am from the Mexico that is in the middle of the rest of the continent), got pretentious with the Natlan arc. Colonipenal, although not bad, its deaths in retrospect are the most negative part of it, because the only one who died was Misha, but that didn't have the same impact as Aventurine, Robin, and Firefly. Adding the fact that they started reviving characters just because, except for Cocolia, although I give them credit for at least creating a justification, unlike here where this should have been a full-fledged death. Not only do you shock the player by daring to do that, but you also greatly improve your narrative with it. No matter how much a character is liked, ignoring death in your narrative is the most stupid thing if it seeks to be long-term. It's no wonder that with One Piece, when it comes to death, no one takes it seriously because Oda has made too many fake deaths. So to the guy who brought JoJo's into this, I just tell you to tone it down because at least Araki does kill his characters. Hoyoverse doesn't, except if you're in Honkai Impact or any of their old games, because with the new ones they are completely cowardly with the playable characters. In these, only the NPCs know death, and it really bothers me that they get traumatized by it when it's something natural in a plot.
@@Tooru2410 though I can agree with how GI and HSR afraid to make harsh decision with unaliving playable characters because of self-inserts mc and vulnerable audience. This one with Caesar was expected just by reading story. Cutscene was good, and even if you already know how it will be turn, it stil hit hard. So I don't blame Hoyo for this time. Fissure doesn't appear out of nowhere, like when some "godlike" uncle come and save the one who was ready to sacrifice himself.

I've been a "subs over dubs" guy for a long time but Hoyo's EN dubs are excellent. Big props to the VAs and the casting director
bro zenless zone zero got me for the a second thank god shes okay
SHIIIIZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
At 1:01, 1:03, 1:07, 1:11, 2:05 2:15 & 2:25 Aww, Lucy is so cute and precious here when she shows that deep down, she really do desperately cares about Caesar!
1:32 Without sacrifice, there can be no Victory
As a grown ass man they almost got me good when Lucy started crying.
2:59 to 3:21 And thats when she became my favorite character!!!
It was obvious to the players, given the legend of the first biker, that she would never die, but she was still a brave person capable of sacrificing her life for the good of the citizens.
Caesar is the coolest.
Ceaser : Sacrifices herself and dies
The game: Nuh uh
Oh Caesar you damned- DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT, WOMAN! 😂
She never let you go
I love how we only get so much we get lucy breaking down about caesar & caesar's return getting the Rest afterward through the characters mentioning it
Cue Joseph screaming *”CEASAR!!!!”* 💀💀💀
The anguish in Lucy’s scream is terrifying man
This shit was soooo good
I NEED THIS SONG!!
This one and the one from the character demo!!
I NEED!! THE FULL SONG OF THAT 3:02 PART SO BAD
HOYO PLZ I'M BEGGING YOU
Can we acknowledge that she was prepared not to return after delivering the sparkstone
Gracias Hijos de Calidon, me hacen recordar las bandas heavies clasicas: Judas Priest, Motorhead, etc
1:09 music hit so hard here
black metal in a hoyo game, too peak
This patch is filled with so many banger songs. I really want the full release of this one
Giving me goosebumps and wanting to cry when i saw this first time, this is peak CINE
3:00 i think the lyrics are:
" through the day, through the night, ain't no body can drive by, Join me tonight "
SSSSSSHHHHIIIIIIIZZZZAAAAAA!!!
CAESAR WAS GORGEOUS AND I NEED THAT OST SO BAD!
To everyone watching, as of 1.3 you can listen to the song on MC’s Music Player ingame! Song is titled “Tour de Inferno” 👏
2:18 lucy: Caesarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
me- is that jojo ref.
Guys if you haven't checked the in game speaker, the song is available there!! I have my game in spanish but its on the "Casual Savior" album.
I had chills all over my body. Brooo
For a brief moment I thought she would not make it. It would not be the first time a game allows you to play with characters which are canonically dead. I was legit crying like Lucy.
“SHIIIIIZZAAAAAA!!!!!”
-Lucy, prolly
The soundtrack at the near end was fire 🔥
So far the two best scenes to me are "Ceasar's Sacrifice" (Officially called "Rise from the Ashes", and "Belobog's Emergency Command" (Officially "Prototype, Reboot"). The way the characters talk and move, the sound and music going dull and the jumping back in at key moments, these scenes just hit harder than the conclusions of the other chapters.
They went so good on this scene
Damn she got put in the game just to sacrifice herself and then teleport back to the save point nice one🙂↕️
I swear the Zenless cutscenes are so good. You can just watch them without having any idea who these characters are and still enjoy them.
One: this would've made for a cool quick time event.
Two: they should've committed and had her burn up.
At first I was like “There’s the crippling depression I remember from Honkai Impact 3rd”
But it seems Mihoyo has learnt that killing off beloved characters over and over is not so much fun for the community.
That she literally got saved IN THE NICK OF TIME actually makes this much more interesting than if she simply died.
As said in the beginning, that makes for an epic story.
The HI3 PTSD is growing strong with this one 👌💀
Lucy's wail made me tear up holy smokes
absolute cinema 👏🏾👏🏾
Actual peek. Deadass started to tear up at the thought if her dying.
Heihachi Mishima... is dead.
(Somehow, he returned.)
if one wins without risk, one triumphs without glory
Badass to the end even if you die you become a legacy.
I didn't really think I would get attached to the Sons of Calydon because I'm not big on the whole biker vibe, but damn if I didn't love every single one of them by the end of this chapter.
Lucy should've screamed "CAESAARRR"
CAESAAAA- oh wait she's fine
Caesar is going to sacrifice herself:
New Players (GI, ZZZ - Players who haven't been emotionally experienced with death characters): Noooo.... Why...
Players before HI3rd (GI, HSR - players who are already emotionally experienced with death characters): DAMN, HOYO! You barely killed the key characters! But sometimes they return!
Veteran Captain Honkai: *PTSD Intensifies*
Caesar returned and alive:
Every player: *Kicking one of the devs because of their ideas*
Veteran Honkai Captain: *PTSD Intensifies, Reminding Farewell Penacony*
GI,day 1 HSR,day 1 ZZZ player,who got a bit into Hi3 but it wasn’t for me:
Trauma from all angles
Those who can read: Yeah, legend about first overlord was on purpose after all. This what we call on our language "Chekhov's gun" (Idk call it right on English)
Add tho the PTSD list Jojofans bcuz they woud never forget Ceasar's sacrifice.
And to think she is absolutely Shounen protagonist vibes, yet she has a soft spot for Shouji.
Caesar my beloved
I knew she'd do the same as the legend, it was pretty emotional
