You can also disconnect the little cables and take your expensive stuff with you thats amazing man. No need to worry about theives you just bring the backpack with you 👍. More ebike companies should do that.

Nice little bike build. From one Builder to another just a small tip in my opinion throw your cat back on your inner tube after you push it through the rim hole in your mounting your tire and it'll hold the inner tube in there for you. Loosen the nuts on your brake cables at the V brakes or the caliper and it will let all the slack back in and reset everything to 0 whenever you mount new levers or new calipers

I’m converting a specialised mtb into an Ebike for the first time using a 1000w rear motor and I’m wondering if there are any tool kits I can buy that include all of the tools needed for this conversion. I heard from many people that these cheap 1000w wheel kits wear out/break fast. A couple people said they went through 2 kits in less than 2 years without much riding use before finally buying a 3000w kit that lasted. They said the 2 kits were a waste of money and that in hindsight they should have bought a 3000w first which they said is more bang for the buck/more reliable.

      Hi Ian,
Just thought I'd let you know, my kits arrive (all fine) and today my battery arrives, it fits, tight but it's ok, you had me worried even though I'd cut out a template and checked, bit annoyed no battery bag, I'll have to order one (more cost, but stuff always winds up costing more I guess).
Now I'm just waiting on some ordered 'Schwalbe Marathon puncture proof tyres' (£50 for the pair, well £55 with protective rim liner tape) -:also ordered some other small bits to help. My dad just texted me my tyres have arrived so tomozo I'll start the build.

The instructions that come with the kit are sorely lacking. I mainly came to see how to install the petal assist. But Thanks for letting me know I don't need it. Looks like more of a pain than its worth. Give me constructive feed back on this point please.
I just got mine in the mail today. The torque arm for me was pretty difficult as I didn't have room for much on either vertical or diagonal bars. And putting it on the other non sprocket side requires me to unpin the harness fro the the wheel. But I really want to put one on that side.
Also my derailed controls where thumb style attached to the brakes so I have to find a different system.
I got the 20HA battery separately and it required me to kick the bottle, flip the battery and it sits snug under the center diagonal. Between the 20+ lbs for the wheel and the 20+ for the battery my kickstand is pretty useless.
I had to figure out that the LED Display requires these 2 rubber round pieces and they need to be cut as they are just too fat. Then the tiny nut has to be placed inside the middle groves to give the thin hex bolt something solid to thread to. Prethread the bolt to make sure the nut is positioned proper.
So ya they need to either link a video on the instructions or do a much better job on the manual.
Was hoping to finish today but seems I will need another day to complete.

    • @expedition-electric3549
      @expedition-electric3549  2 роки тому

I NEED HELP! My LCD started coming on the second I turn battery power on. It shows bn3.6 on the screen where the OD is. At the bottom it shows 900. Power is instantly available to throttle before I turn on the system via the "M" button. When I turn off the LCD via the "M" button I get "OFF" on the screen but still have power to the throttle. I contacted Voillamart and they asked for more details. I included a detailed video of the system but they have not respond since. Has anyone ever experienced the LCD doing this?
UPDATE: I contacted Voilamart and they sent me a new LCD replacement for free. It was the LCD. When turning it on it will show the "bn3.5" for a second. So the other one was hung up. The Kits are usually around $250. amzn.to/3n1R9A0 the batteries vary greatly on price depending on the size. Here is a medium range battery for $280. amzn.to/3jL9WxG They tackle the smaller hills where I live. Not too many big hills here. The mid drive systems are known for their performance on hills

Why didn't you use the pedal assist

I will install pedal assist this week.

TBH im not a big fan of the pedal assist on these kits, its basically a 'blip' switch, if you pedal it gives you full throttle, which can easily take you off guard and into a crash.
The assist level display does not help either - when I tried using PAS, I found I preferred level 5 for the twist throttle so I had full speed range, but level 1 was more than enough on the PAS, especially navigating tight areas and passing people on narrow trails.
Eventually i disconnected the PAS, found it much easier to control the motor purely with throttle, and leaving me with unassisted pedals for more delicate control of speed - its just as easy to just hold the throttle at a low position and pedal normally if you want 'assisted' pedalling.

Not a well balanced set up. You've got all the weight of the kit on the rear axle and it's top heavy because of your battery placement.
I'd be reluctant to get on that thing, let alone put it through its paces.
