    Wow I remember the struggle days in the 90’s with my mom getting the corn, fermenting, taking it to the mill (which was a tortilla factory because we live in LA) then the bagging. This is amazing! Never thought I’d see the day this process can be done in your own kitchen 😱👏🏾👏🏾

      I’ve been googling commercial mills like forever! We have a lot of Hispanics here and I bet if I looked for a tortilla mill, I would have found one. Thanks for giving me a clue! So happy this brought memories, Selina. And even happier that this method is of benefit to you🙏🏾❤️

    This reminds me of my trip to the nika nika.. good old days… I was also in charge of the corn dough process.. Fridays after school I’d walk to the mill to grind, come home and fiti the 3buroo 😀😀

      We have worked in this our life oo. Herr. Sometimes we went with not only corn for mmore but oblayo, egweemi and weanimix. Thank God for the experiences that have shaped us🙏🏾🙏🏾

    Priceless daughter and mommy moments enjoy every bit of it…..I don’t have vitamix blender so I buy the Maseca(Hispanic grinded corn flour) blend cassava or yuca root, mix, cover and ferment it for 3 days and it’s ready for your banku. Thanks sis for bringing this beautiful memory 😍

      Thank you! I used to make mine with Indian Head corn meal but it is hard to find so I was buying a sack of Accra Kenkey and making the dough with it.

      @@KwankyewaasKitchen right right Indian head is hard to find (little coarse though)and that’s why I switched to Maseca and loving its smoothness. As always I love your videos and you’re the best ✌️💕

    OK my sister so though I did it I bought the dry corn I soaked it for 3 days I use my blender a blender and it came out better than I expected I expected it's so nice thank you I wish I can send you a picture of it

    This is how we make ogi in Nigeria but we strain it to get rid of the skin and it has to be tart for me and the level of tartness depends on how long I leave it to ferment after straining.

    A taste of home, mama is really teaching us a lot and giving us so many tips we so appreciate. Eeeh banku is going to be lit paaa in your home for the next couple of weeks paaa. You know they have the fry corn is Asian market I wonder if it’s the same as the one at the African market. Will definitely try this. Thank you so much!

      Sis mese! Koko no koraa na eku me no. If it is white, it most likely will be same or similar. If the kernels look like Ghana corn, please try it. They’ve labeled this Ghana corn in the store but I will ask the lady if it is really from Ghana. I’m going there tomorrow.

    Did mum bring the raw corn from GH or you bought them in the US. If you bought it in the US, can you let me know where. I love corn dough food but I'm not getting the right one

      I bought this from the African Market. I doubt that you can travel with raw corn. I think it is prohibited.

    What should we look for in the texture of the corn, the next day please?

      Next day it will have air spaces in it due to fermentation, the aroma will also change. The texture pretty much depends on how fine the corn was ground.
