Very good review! This is indeed the one most underated whisky. This beats many high category and high priced whiskeys. 1450 for a 750 ml bottle in Mumbai. Yes it is still not available in many places. Amrut should increase the distribution. Definitely recommend.

I have drank this for one time.... one of the best blended whisky..i had..but it tasted me bitter (not much).. best blend of single grains and singke malt.... i think it is also having some unmalted brly spirit.. an hatsoff to amrut for using our own country organic spirit like this
Drank JD nonstop for 3 years. Drank a fare share of Black Label, which is the best I have drank. Ballentine, Jameson and Jim bean is good too. Going to try this tonight. Going Desi for now.
I have had this whiskey . An excellent tasting whiskey relative to the affordable price point . As it is a blend of malt and grain spirits ,my take is that it is probably blended with spirits distilled fron corn and hence the hints of bourbon in its taste . About time the guys at Amrut attempt an Indian whiskey along the lines of bourbon. All in a good dram to sip.
One query which always troubles me whether Branded Premium Whiskies bought fro Damn or Goa are they 'B' grade or as some people say that the alcohol content is low in the whiskies purchased in these parts.
I have bought 3 bottles in lockdown. And I have neat in glencrain glass, I don’t enjoy the nosing part for this as I get more sugarcane aroma but in pallet the malt nature of it’s gives the feel of drinking single malt scotch. That’s where it shines.

What are the "smoothest" single malt budget whisky and rum available?

Yes. In Goa alcohol percentage is lesser I've noticed. Even from gurugram L1 it happens
