Im bartender first i didnt drink alcohol. After my gf left me i became alcoholic person in my life i suffered lost of issues unwanted blaming issues. Prices of liquor rises immensly in India in last few years, it has become difficult to drink these one on regular basis. Now sticking to royal stag and royal challenger.

Been a long time since I've taken Ballantines. Don't well remember how it tasted. Used to take it when Jim Beam and Red Label are unavailable.
Wonder why people talk of Black Label, Glenfiddich etc while list is for under Rs 2,500/-
And some mentioned Jim Beam(bourbon), Jameson (lrish)etc while matter is about scotch.

Completely agree that Ballentine's whiskey is the best within the range of 2500.
Devars white label is also a good blended Scotch whiskey. Also, Jameson is a great tasting Irish whiskey.
I live in UK (London) and my english friends are big fan of Chivas. They call it a real Indian whisky which infact is bottled here in Scotland lol.

Dada I think Jameson's (i know its irish) should be included :) ... it costs somewhere 1600 bucks in Gurgaon and It sells like hot cake here. Another one is Cutty Sark which costs around 1750 also should have made the list. 100 pipers although sells a lot because of its price range but its not a good scotch IMO. Ballantine, teachers 50 and black dog are well deserved contenders but Jameson's although irish but one of the best Whisky.

One of the best ever whisky try which price aroun 2K.
Recently I tried 100Piper,I liked very much.

After reading the comments and going down my memory lanes, I have tasted all the Scotch mentioned above that too not just couple of pegs in the bar once or twice, but we used to buy a whole bottle of a particular brand for quite a while then jump to other brand but it went on daily basis for quite a few years about 6years or so as prior to it was just occasional but then due to which I realized one fine day that I have to get over it now it's 5years since I left.. So it's not a PROUD thing that I drank all kinds of Scotch whiskey like most of them are mentioning in the comment box but I don't regret it either cuz if I hadn't done it then how would have I shared my experience with u guys..

Dada the best sa scotch whiskey I ever tested within ta.2500/- is 100 pipers (12 years old) & teachers 50. Nothing is better than these two.
I used to have 100 pipers always. Now a days Ballentine is on hand and it’s taste is very very reach smooth and silky.
Dewar's white label blended scotch whisky is ultimate in taste..

Off late I had Passport Scotch and straightaway fell in love with it. Actually PS reminds me of my another favourite Irish whisky Jameson. Since Jameson is too expensive to consume it regularly for me I have switched over to PS.
Hope you give some insights about Passport Scotch Whisky. Also people in Bombay and New Bombay sell it as different prices. I still am unsure what's the real price of it. FYI, my actual source of buying is from friends and family passing through duty free or who are coming from Goa.

Vat 69 bottled in Scotland and bottled in India are different. Vat 69 bottled in Scotland is much more smokey and flavorful. I think is applicable for all the scotch whiskey which are bottled in India.

Three Indian scotches are ok , rather good . 1 Amrut , 2 Rampur 3 PAul these are single malt and good scotch.
