Or maybe it was sheer intuition? Some players are just incredibly intuitive by nature. Edit: I was going to say he was probably very experienced, but it turns out he was 25 at the time.
This is, without question, one of my favorite games of all time. This is brilliant beyond brilliant. It's games like this that make up for the crushing boredom of chess as an exercise in memorization.
I like the change in attitude about Mr Hoodie. You always seem disappointed that you have to use the picture. It's a better idea to have fun with it instead. #TeamMrHoodie
Oh my my... don’t have words to describe the magic that was created over the board. Loved every move from white. Thanks for showing this game. I think this would be one of my favorite game, so simple game to demonstrate such brave play
Because these are Spanish players, his family name isnt just Segovia, its Visier Segovia, Visier being his fathers' family name, his mothers family name Segovia. So their names are either Juan Betancourt or Fernando Visier. I am from Spain, this is something confusing for other countries who only use their fathers' family name, cheers for the amazing content as always Agadmator!
Even if he wasn't an IM , fide should give him an honorary IM title , on the strength of that quite magnificent game alone !! But one thing it does prove is that you don't need to be a top GM to be able to play a great game !
Wow, that ending, So beautiful! The sacrifices are incredible, and the inevitability of the position was priceless. Just a masterpiece of Sorcery. Thank you for bringing your excellent subscribers yet another excellent game. P
What makes this game so great is that it seems to move towards this amazing sweetspot where checkmate is delivered through all sorts of combinations. Thanks for this sorcery!
This game reminds me of Tal Vs Hjartarson .. as in this game too , ever since Bb3 was played in move 7 , the bishop never moved from that square just like how the Queen never moved from B2 in the Tal game !!! :)
Beautiful game! Many thanks. Please note that the photo you showed of Fernando Segovia shows Lubosh Kavalek, the great Czech-American grandmaster (1943-2021).
I find myself giving thumbs up to the good games as much as the good videos - which isn't the idea really, but somebody might as well benefit and the players are often dead by now.
I don’t think Juan was missing the idea as you repeatedly said. He was in dire straits and was trying to wiggle his way out as there were not many defensive moves he could find. So he tried to counterattack hoping that White would change focus to defense of the king. Brilliant game by Fernando Segovia.
Nvm just realized pawn was pinned. The real mistake was capturing whites pawn on c2 with his rook. Should’ve tried to move the rook to a defensive position and hoped for a trade. Black just seemed lost in this game tbh
Best one so far...just because of the no. of lines Fernando needed to calculate before executing the queen sacrifice. Absolute Brilliancy

@@Jasper_4444 Well 3 year late reply lol 😂
@@animezoneamv9116 True.
To this day, this is both my favorite agadmator video and my favorite chess game I’ve ever seen
This game is soo nice❤. Fernando played in great style and he definitely ended the game in great style.
"The hoodie guy loses every game" 😂😂
No one remember the looser
or even take a pic of him LOL
There must be a reason, why the hoodie guy never wins such interesting and famous games...
Not max warmerdam❤
What a nightmare! Black is bamboozled at every turn.
Bro so true

Fernando Visier Segovia is now 74 years old. He is Fide Master and won 2 times the Spain championship.
Meaning he was only 25 when he played this game!

My new favorite game of all time.
This is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen.

+Zyxeos Thank you for explaining this :)
agadmator's Chess Channel thank you for the amazing videos!
No. Other countries put mother's name in the middle, and father's at the end.
Zyxeos are u a real Spaniard and from Spain?
@@MrAbrazildo The middle name is chosen by the parents

This game deserves another view!! Just awesome!
When Juan played rook captures on c2 😅that is where the real game is. So beautiful ❤️.
More more more sorcery we want! :)
I finally found the treasure of this channel....!!!
Antony, I love how you smile at this game. I smiled at the same spots. Very excellent
I love this game. Hopefully Fernando agrees.
Brilliant!

Wow. This is my new favourite. Thank you agadmator for showing us this masterpiece 😀
Wow. That was an amazing game. So elegant and fun to watch
I loved how this e4 sicilian game ended so cleanly with essentially all the pieces WIPED off the board!!!
That was indeed a masterpiece!
Thanks for sharing.
Wow, what a fantastic game! I really enjoy watching games like this one. Keep on going ! :)
I have seen many sorceries but this is simply A diamond in a coal mine !!
What makes this game so great is that it seems to move towards this amazing sweetspot where checkmate is delivered through all sorts of combinations. Thanks for this sorcery!
This is the most beautiful game I have seen
Wow. Black was paralysed in the end... Fascinating.
That was stunningly beautiful and absolutely glorious!!!!!

I like the chess sorcery contributions. There is always something to marvel at.

Great game! I love the attack!
The last time the Grim Reaper took a beating this bad was Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
I am impressed, just amazing.
This is my favorite game. So good.
According to FIDE website, a player born 1943 with the name of Fernando Visier Segovia was an FM.
I find myself giving thumbs up to the good games as much as the good videos - which isn't the idea really, but somebody might as well benefit and the players are often dead by now.
You know you are a nice subscriber when u notice that he didn't wear a hoodie to respect the hoodie guy...hello from 2021..
Love this game... White Completely played like Tal
Beautiful game. Such sorcery!

Brilliant game by Fernando Segovia.
Eh, I’m not so sure. Queen to h6 was a massive blunder, he should’ve played pawn to g6. By pinning his queen on g7 he sealed his fate
Nvm just realized pawn was pinned. The real mistake was capturing whites pawn on c2 with his rook. Should’ve tried to move the rook to a defensive position and hoped for a trade. Black just seemed lost in this game tbh
Interesting game and really good stuff 👍
Amazing game.............. beautiful moves.
You know this is a classic agamador video when he isn’t even wearing a hoodie to honor the hoodie guy
