    This game is amazing. When I was in middle school my friend and I were playing chess and he found a Fischer book, Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess. He focuses on different tactics like Pins, Back Rank Mates and other things. And it really shows in his rook plays at the end.

  • @mrmarkstv6585
    @mrmarkstv6585 Рік тому +7

    For your knowledge. The reason that we don't Play Bxb6 in the oppening is not because the engine says don't do it, it's because you can't give up your strongest minor piece, if you give it up, you no longer control the darksquares, and as white has already advanced f4-f5 the King becomes more fulnerable. You don't need an engine to understand this

      I dont think anything was wrong with Bxb6 I mean what else are you gonna play that isnt much worse? And the early f4-f5 ideas itself doesnt seem to work to well anymore. I am by no means an expert at all but personally I think the entire Bc4 system is a bit lackluster for white if black knows their theory. I think the Bg5 is a lot more scary but that goes for both sides:) or even the g3 system can actually be dangerous if black does not know top modern theory.

      I put it into the engine because I was curious too. It's not catastrophic to take the pawn, but black goes from slightly better to slightly worse because the sequence that follows leads to white getting a little initiative:
      Nxe4 Nxe4 Bxe4 Ng3 Bb7 Nh5 was what looked most natural to me and white is threatening f6, Qg4 is an idea etc. Still pretty even in the engine evaluation, but black is on the back foot.

    That ...Qe3 move is so powerful and infiltrating, and is why Black won, but yet I could NEVER pull off a move like that in a real game. I'm still not sure why White didn't kick the Black queen away with his rook. Perhaps he thought moving his Knight was more clever, as Fischer would'nt expect that. Either way, if you allow the opponent to anchor their Queen in your ranks that early then your defeat is assured.

      after captures, captures Ng3 black has to do something about his hanging bishop. It doesn't matter much if you support it with d5 or retreat to b7. In either case, white plays f6 and gets a very nice attack. Given that Black already has a wonderful position its probably not worth ruining it for a pawn you really don't need.

      This is explained in the excellent book, My 60 Memorable Games by Fischer.
      Bobby was not allowed to travel to Havana, so they arranged for him to play in the tournament via a “radio” format from New York. Bobby was put in a room, and the opponent’s moves were sent by radio from Havana to an arbiter in New York. The arbiter would then visit Bobby in the room, convey the move, and await Bobby’s reply.

    in round 7 superbet blitz 2023 --> 3:22:36 in 8gw7XDq87C4
    4th #suggestion - Philippine women's chess 2022
    WGM Janelle Frayna, the 1st and only Philippine WGM, upset Georgian GM (really GM not just WGM) Bela Khotenashvili at the 2022 world blitz.
    There's a 13-move UNDERPROMOTION puzzle here.
    [Variant "From Position"]
    [FEN "6k1/6b1/1p1P3p/6pP/3pPpP1/p2NqP2/6K1/5Q2"]
    1. Qd1 a2 2. Qb3+ Kf8 3. d7 Qe2+ 4. Nf2 Ke7 5. Qd5 Kd8 6. Qe6 Bf6 7. Qe8+ Kc7 8. Qc8+ Kd6 9. e5+ Qxe5 10. d8=R+ Bxd8 11. Qxd8+ Kc6 12. Qa8+ Kb5 13. Qxa2
    For some reason none of the Philippine channels except Kelvinllovejr even cover this game. LOL. But Janelle did cover the game where e drew against Nemo, so maybe Janelle will cover this game later on.

    Fish > Fisher -> Fishest
    Hence Proved,
    Only Mr Fishest could win against Fisher.

      @@monstermagnet3150 Well Tal we know he likes, but nobody compares to the genius of Bobby-well..maybe Morphy.
      I put Andersen 1st my 2 cents, the man was a sociopath ( and psychologist) on the chess board-he did a deep dive on an opponents psyche before each game.
      Antonio is more of a historian than I, he respects relentless attackers and the unforgivable punishment of mistakes.

    at 7:31, instead of K-g7 why not just RxN. Neither black rook can be taken due to back-rank mate and both black rook are en prise next move regardless of any defensive attempts white makes.
