This seems to be quite a cool game, I think I gave it a try some time ago but bounced right off, maybe your playthrough will inspire me to try again :D
Yep, I do switch to a two shift rotation a bit later in the run. I believe I was initially keeping them on one shift to make it easier to coordinate away teams.

I am surprised you are not using work shift. One bed can be used by 3 people if you are on 3 shift rotation
