Transformation of Aanandaa Permaculture Farm in 10 years

- In this video, we show you the before and after visual transformation of Aanandaa permaculture farm over a period of 10 years. In 2011, when Manisha and Agam Gupta acquired this land, it was a barren dusty piece of land. The soil was compacted dry and lifeless. There were very few trees and it was difficult to grow food here without chemical inputs like urea and DAP.
Over the years, with good permaculture design, the land began to transform into a food forest. The water management at Aanandaa resulted in harvested millions of litres of rainwater each year. Dense tree plantation with multilayer stacking has created a highly productive food forest. The diversity of species and animals, has built a very resilient and pest resistant food production system.
You can see the visual transformation and take an aerial tour of Aanandaa as it stands in July 2021. You can dee the various edible gardens, ponds, and structures built in this farm, and its overall design. Hope you enjoy this video!

I'm very lucky to have a 3 acre farmland very close to my house. It's in the middle of the city and surrounded by housing colonies. I bought it before pandemic as an investment but the pandemic changed my mind and now i decided that i won't re sell it ever and your videos inspired me a lot. Thanks for sharing all the knowledge you have.
I wish I can have one in future ... I would love to do permaculture
@@ShubhraPandey best of luck 👍
Which city brother?
Im waiting for the videos!!! Cant wait to see the transformation of your land
The "pandemic" has taught us we all need a farm on which to grow our own organic food on given the economy can collapse at any moment. So glad I bought my five acres three years ago! I've already fenced it and built my modest farmhouse on it. All I need is solar and to drill a permanent borewell by God's grace and I will be the happiest man on earth :-)
Planning to take early retirement when i get to 30 and start a permaculture farm
All thanks to you guys
PS . i am not even employed yet (doing internship after my MBBS)
Good luck!
but after MBBS u complete ur pg do work dont think about it , in permaculture u fell happy but earning is more important bro permaculture is second option u can do it with ur work thats my opinion ,
Its all about satisfaction
@@suryakant7843 He is sort of right cause it's always better having a backup. First establish yourself then go for permaculture. I stumbled upon this video this guy left his job as a detective to start a permaculture homestead farm then lost it all ua-cam.com/video/qQ3u1qiAEmw/v-deo.html

Always wanted to see the full layout to understand your design. Have only imagined what it will look like from your explanations. An aerial view is awesome. Hoped the video never ends. Respect 🙏
It just looks impossible to eyes..the before & after clips..
But if you know Permaculture and the wonders it can do.. anything is possible... The before & after clips cleary state the amount of effort and pain you all must have undertaken to make this degraded piece of land into a paradise...

Aww thats so sweet 🤗
Excellent Transformation. I am closely watching all your videos. If you can add a compass in one of the corners, it will be more useful. Not a demand but request/ suggestion.
Good idea. Let us check if thats possible for next time
So far this is the best video I have ever seen in your channel. Others are also good though. 😊
Its the drone!
10 Years of Hard Work and Dedication ....
At what point did you build your home on your farm? Right in the beginning or eventually?
Eventually
Has the farm been commercially profitable throughout? I have a 5 acre farm I'm trying to do organic farming/ permaculture on as well
Wonderful
Love the farm mam, you are inspiring many ❤️, can you please add mini map of farm plz
Pond! I didn't see the farm pond that you have! Thank you for sharing this overall site information.
Oh no we forgot to label it. It comes right after fig grove. But is empty at the momet.
@@farmaanandaa Ah yes saw it saw it. Also just an opinion, you should look into mushrooms! yummy and fun to grow too and good compost. Stay safe aanandaa fam!!!!!!

What is the extent of your farm land?
Your farm size in how many acres madam
Mam completely agree with your idea. But I like to know, how to adopt these principles without financial failure. Like how much one need to spend initially for the basic setup ? Pls explain. Thank you.

Its so beautiful but i didn't understand about wifi garden, what do you mean by wifi garden?
Its just a name. The beds are made in the shape of the wifi symbol
@@farmaanandaa Thanks
Adorable
While watching, it seems my dream is in front of me. Wonderful and inspirational job done! 🙏
In love with Aanandha. Difficult to get a land of my own.
Awesome job done...
Thank you! Cheers!
Are you living on aanandaa with your family?
I'm really sick what book would you recommend on how to make organic soil/compost? I wish to learn to heal myself through plants. I need a comprehensive guide with simple language.
Sorry to hear that. We hope you get better soon. An Earth User's Guide to Permaculture by Rosemary Morrow is a good and simple book to read.
Hi Manisha Maam, Can we avail loan to buy an agriculture land? Can you provide any lead on this area please...
Pl show the irrigation system of your garden
Its a simple pipe with mobile sprinklers.
I have 3 Acer of Barren land how to delope from the beginning please help
Pls visit www.aanandaa.com to learn more
Awsome....why wifi garden? :)
Because the beds are shaped like the wifi symbol
did u grow grass. or did it come on its own??
It is not really grass that you see. It's straggler daisy. Or some other weed. We did not grow grass.
Hello ma'am, I feel that you could use more space for plantation if you did not segregate into different gardens ,spl grow more veges,as I feel permaculture stresses on natural growth and not on designed growth. I would love to see junglee kheti from the drone view rather than designed garden. This is my view of course. Nice video thanks for sharing
Permaculture is about design. Its not junglee kheti. Only if you design your gardens properly, does the system work.
Farm looks pretty. But to keep it pretty I am sure lot of labor is needed. Is this sustainable to maintain this way for less fortunate? Thanks
Actually, in permaculture you need very little labour. Becauee we work with nature's patterns instead of against it. To learn more about permaculture you can visit www.aanandaa.com
Could you pls suggest good book on permaculture

@@farmaanandaa thank you
how much acre you have there..and hoe u manage grass problem over there?
Do you mean weeds? By keeping soil mulched and not tilling.
I want to visit your permaculture per apka charges kitna hoga
Hai can I visit?
बंदरों के उत्पात से बचने के उपाय बताए 🙏
How much land you own for this project
When r u going to conduct another permaculture session at your farm...Mam....??
Pls check in October
क्या आपने यह जमीन लिझ पर ली है अगर ली है तो इस वक्त ईस्का किराया kitna है
Hey mam i found i think that you should leave the cows grazing and i think you are making a labour a lot permaculture should be done without labour most . Cows ,goats and chickens are awesome better to leave free and simply make some fence and leave them for months and change the places and the soil to get fertile
Can you help us to grow our dream park the ultimate your copy.
We can teach you how to make something for yourself! Do visit www.aanandaa.com and sign up for our courses
The push for permaculture and incentives from the government to reclaim former desert has transformed huge areas of previously degraded land into viable productive community farms for perhaps millions of Indians. Common sense governance and hard work pays dividends.
