  • Here it is, the process of making this classic Lace-To-Toe boot. I start with creating the pattern, cutting all the leather by hand, sewing, and then moving to hand-lasting, and bottoming.
All of my boots are made to measure for a fit truly meant for the individual and nobody else.

Loved every second of this video.
I was back in my grandfather's workshop. He was a shoemaker.
I could almost smell the leathers, the glue again. I am almost 64 years old, but this video took me back to my childhood. I recognized most of the machines, most of the sounds , it was a trip back into my past for me. Thank you so much.

Such craftsmanship should stay with us forever. Incredible workmanship! Add hobnails and heel irons and they'll go 300 miles without a sole replacement. They really don't make'em like they used to, except at Schmidt's.

My dad and I would have been famous for sure! It was such fun work and I miss the smell of leather and glue and polish. The sounds of a 5 n 1 cutting, the naumkeag, awl stitching with waxed thread.
