Another fantastic build, I just got back again to the hobby. On my bench now I am building 4 Monogram/ Revell P-40. 1 AVG, 1 RAF Europe, 1 RAF Desert and the last one USAAC. And I hope that they turn out a quarter as good as yours does. I am a diabetic and l have no feeling in my hands. Wish me luck thank you.

Ahoy Frankie, i think i may have a solution to your water sputtering with your airbrush problem. You said you did clear the watertrap on your compressor tank. What helps as well is opening the screw at the bottom of the tank, "bleeed the air fist" and get rid of fluids there. I had the same trouble with water in the system but that helped get rid of this problem. God save you Frankie, i am very glad to hear that the farmhouse will be finally ready, take care.

Ahoy Frankie! The B25 looks fantastic buddy, great great job, as always! Man I'm glad you're getting a house, I bet you are too, aren't ya?! Maybe you'll have enough room to turn around in, and put more models! Yeah man I pray all those fellars will be safe down there, I have a nephew who lives in Cape Coral and their right in the path of that damn thing, geez, I tried to talk them into to leaving but their not, they've put up hurricane panels and shutters and gonna ride it out! I was down there in Panama City Beach with the wife and kids back in 03-04? I don't know, it was when Andrew came ashore, anyways the ol ladies Mom had a house there and we went down for vacation the first time and the very next day after we got there, that sob came ashore, just about 10 miles from where we were at! Man you talking about being scared and stuff, that was the first time I was ever in a doggone hurricane and I was chomping at the bit scared and nervous. Anywho, good to see you bud, take care and keep on keeping on 🤘!

David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Sunday, 7 July, 2024)
Well, Mr. Day, your build here is as excellently executed as I have seen! It took me an hour or longer to finish my missive, because I kept watching your videos, my mouth agape, my hands motionless over my laptop’s keyboard.
Speaking (metaphorically) of Hong Kong Models’s 1:32nd-scale kit of the North American B-25J Mitchell USAAF Medium Bomber, has the modelmaker issued, or would you know if they are planning upon producing, a 1:32nd-scale kit of an earlier variant of this aircraft? The B-25B, ideally, and specifically, LtCol Jimmy Doolittle’s. . . .
You mention your imminent reception of Trumpeter’s 1:200th-scale kit of the USS Hornet (CV-8) U.S. Navy Yorktown-class Aircraft Carrier. Had I the means, I would acquire both the Hornet kit and the Mitchell bomber model (well, I actually would prefer a replica of the B-25B; the Accurate Miniatures 1:48th-scale kit from nigh three decades past comes to mind). I would consider the HKM 1:32nd-scale beast (from what I can see on your desk, it looks to be rather hefty-disconcertingly so, in fact!), though I rather doubt my capacity to backdate it to a B-25B; moreover, I am quite thin for my height, so my concern also would be whether my bony, cold, achy fingers would be able to 1) manage all the cutting, scraping, re-working, etc. (a fortnight or longer, I would expect!) the polystyrene in remaking it into that bomber’s earlier variant, and 2) keep a good, solid hold upon that substantial airframe as I completed assembly, painting, weathering, and all the rest.
My plan with all these kits (amongst several others) would be to assemble scale replicas of Hornet as it and Enterprise (CV-6) as they were when Admiral Mitscher early on Saturday, 18 April, 1942 led their task force to the west; as they drew close to Japanese waters, LtCol Doolittle, USAAF, mission leader, commenced his assignment to conduct an air-raid over Tokyo. I would build the HKM bomber replica with its flight deck and crew stations fully staffed, its propellers spinning, its elevators set to a positive pitch as the airframe smoothly ascends at a shallow gradient just past the ship’s bow, its undercarriage retracted.
The next would be the Accurate Miniatures B-25B kit, as with its predecessor its cockpit and stations crewed, its props buzzing, its elevators in a positive pitch as the aircraft rolls back, its landing gear folding upward. Yes, this would be a forced perspective diorama. Toward this, I would make the Enterprise’s reproduction in 1:350th-scale to enhance the illusion of distance, half its deck holding at the ready its Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat USN Carrier-Based Fighters, their wings tidily tucked close to their sides, as the manufacturer’s design of their carrier-based combat aircraft had them. Their seagoing escorts-the heavy cruiser USS Vincennes (CA-44), the light cruiser USS Nashville (CL-43), four Gleaves-class destroyers, USS Gwin (DD-433), USS Meredith (DD-434), USS Grayson (DD-435) and USS Monssen (DD-436), and the fleet oiler USS Cimarron (AO-22) (source: Wikipedia, various, based upon names). Note: Wikipedia’s article on the USS Grayson (DD-435) has a historical error, citing LtCol Jimmy Doolittle, USAAF, as “General”. Wikipedia’s article on the USS Monssen (DD-436) reports that the destroyer “was in the antisubmarine screen for the aircraft carrier Hornet”; Enterprise was part of the task force, as well-would be steaming along their starboard quarter as part of their defensive screen (I wish to include them in the display as the bombers take flight), as well.
After these two, I would place an Atlantis 1:64th-scale (a re-boxing of a vintage Lindberg box scale kit-technically, in 1:67.7th-scale) B-25J model appropriately modified for this purpose; its flight deck and crew stations would have a mission appropriate complement (e.g., the bomber replica would require no tail gunner; these would be modified, repainted S-gauge figurines), its propellers rotating at full engine power as it accelerates to take-off velocity, its elevators rising to a positive pitch, bringing the nose up as it just begins to ascend above the ship’s broad, wooden timbers, its undercarriage just starting to fold upward.
The 1:72-scale reproduction (Airfix, Revell) would follow next, its flight deck and duty stations housing their crew figures, its propellers turning at full power as the sturdy, heavily-laden aircraft is racing toward take-off velocity, its own elevators rising to a positive pitch, its landing gear yet fully extended.
Behind them would be other B-25B models in 1:96th-, 1:100th-, 1:144th-, and 1:200th-scales (in actual case, as many as nine more would be in this last ratio, as this is the scale of the aircraft carrier model, which serves as the backdrop). The ships of the task force, under the command of Admiral Mitscher:
USS Hornet (CV-8) USN Yorktown-class aircraft carrier Trumpeter 1:200th-scale kit
USS Enterprise (CV-6) USN Yorktown-class aircraft carrier Trumpeter 1:350th-scale kit
USS Vincennes (CA-44) USN Portland-class heavy cruiser 1942 1:350th-scale 3D printing model kit SSMODEL Full Hull
USS Nashville (CL-43) USN Brooklyn-class light cruiser 1:350th-scale resin kit ISW 4053
Four Gleaves-class destroyers: USS Gwin (DD-433), USS Meredith (DD-434), USS Grayson (DD-435), USS Monssen (DD-436) DML 1:350th-scale model kit
USS Cimarron (AO-22) USN Cimarron-class fleet oiler, SD Model Masters 1:350th-scale model kit; Loose Cannon 1:350th-scale model kit.
I also esteem you for your eclecticism, in addition to your marvellous model-building! What do you think of my ambitious idea here? I expect that it would be suitable for a model club’s group build, where each member supplies one of the constituent replica. I wish you and yours good days, with good friends, and good food . . . .
