By the look of his face,he knew that his coin is fake 😁👌🏽
Fake!!!
Wow!
FAKE?
NO!
misrepresented,,,,,
maybe.
everything was/is negotiated prior to the take{s}
It’s not fake. It’s just not a 1894 s.
Mr. Brown would have called it the Holy Grail, and amazing...the bees knees, the cat's meow.
ah the old blame it on the wife card. this dude is a con man
So... uh.. we should trust he's married😏
To be fair, my wife messes with my stuff all the time even though I've begged her not to touch my stuff and to not throw something away if she doesn't know exactly what it is or what it goes to.
He should have called his buddy in
Still got a s barber dime I wish I had one
Good business
Gotta appreciate the wife for using scotch brite !
Hello Darkness my old Friend.........
If you Look real close, there is a 4 and it does read 1894 so idk wtf Rick was talking about
This guy trying to sell the coin knew it was a FAKE .
If I found a coin I thought might be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, selling at a pawn shop of all places would be the last thing I would do.
I have one 1898 and buter condition
Found it in the garden... yea...
You should thank your WIFE 😁
Even though it was rubbed off I clearly see a 4 there why isn't it not a barber s 1894 dime? and what does it mean if it wasn't struck hard?
outdoorsey fun exactly!! I seen the 4 as well.🤷🏻♂️🤔🤯
The reason Rick said it was struck hard is because the features would persist even being that worn, to me the date looks like 1898
It turned out to be real and sold it at auction for 52000
If the year was scrubbed from the coin, how can you write the title in the title.
you can clearly see its a 1896 s not a 94 s
Seller: I really thought I had the real thing.
Me: How? You have no proof. Like at all. Why? Would anyone buy that from you? Especially for 400,000? Wake up and get off the drugs man.
Ive been told not to clean the coins its beter left the way it was.
Totally agree with you, Ron. If a coin is of any significant value, it can always be cleaned in the future, but it can never be uncleaned.
Yep, just leave it alone.
Look I'll give you 20 cents and I am taking all the risk here. I'm not going to call in an expert cause I know that I am ripping you off😵 Rick is the greatest!
🤣🤣🤣
If it were real it would have been graded
You can clearly tell that it's a 4! what other number looks like a 4?! Exactly! None!
@w9j15g yea...it could.
This was an insult to the coin finding gardening community.
Lightning93 it’s called metal detecting
Chooches
They been going through some pretty hard times.
Definetly pez community
Obviously the last number was scrubbed off intentionally to try to pass it off as an 1894.
Paul Davis yeah that’s kinda how it looks
No it's from being in the dirt forever.
@@egebamyasi773 So just by coincidence it was just that one number that got worn out and the rest of the coin is fine? lol, common. You can't be that naive.
@@pauldavis5665 it looked tarnished to me. But whatever.
Paul Davis he may have scratched the dates but coming from a coin collector things like that occur through circulation
No possible way to scrub that hard without it being intentional
When you're scrubbing a fake coin, anything's possible.
@@sws212 lmao
He is trying to con the con man himself.
hahaha
From 400 thousand dollars to zero in seconds 😂
Not Zero 10 cent is the face value or better is the silver weight
To zero?? Its a silver barbar dime with a face value of 10 cents IDIOT. how in your numb skull do you reason that money is not worth money?? Durrrrrrrr which way did he go george??
So how do you pay for stuff then clown????
@@thelastjohnwayne The dime worth $1.22 scrap silver value today 11/15/2019.
@@scottouellette9411 whats my 1907 worth 🤔
Can't even buy an ice cream cone
The fact that NGC wouldn't authenticate it pretty much nailed it as not a '94 right there.
You should work for NGC 😅
I could see from here that it was an 1894!
Still a fake coin
Sure you could buddy 😂
I mean i thought i seen the 4. Still probably fake
He was probably hoping he’d say well just keep it then .. those pawn shop people are liars , thieves and scammers
QAQ
$400k at a Pawn Shop??? Really dude!!! WTF? Back to work like the rest of us slobs.
this guy clearly scrubbed off the last number and fool him
I love how Rick waited until the very end to tell him it was not real lol.
THAT SHOW IS SCRIPTED. THEY KNOW THEIR LINES.
Rick should have offered him nine cents for it. 😂
"I have a rare dime."
"The best I can do is 5 cents, not a penny more. I'm taking a huge risk doing that."
Let me call in one of our experts to tell you its worthless!!!!!!!!
"I'll offer you a Topps 1990 complete factory set. Gem mint unopened." 😋
@w9j15g As many times as we want.
KEK.
Don’t put it in your pocket! It will get mixed up with the other change and become just a dime... which it is.
No county for an old man....
Except it’s not a quarter.
Just call it...
" You married into a gas station ?"
I'm glad someone quoted one of my favorite movies.
If NGC did grade it, it was no good. End of story. Was fun to watch. Great video
I actually kind of believe him. When silver sits in a corrosive environment for a long time, every detail about that piece of silver becomes thinner and smaller. It’s like putting an alkaseltzer tablet into water, and it gets thinner and thinner as it dissolves. Which could explain why the coin isn’t just blank, because of the fact that it’s a heavy stamped proof. I could also totally see someone without any knowledge of metalworking, trying to scrub off gunk to reveal the date, not realizing that they are actually removing metal. It’s an easy beginners mistake, and I’ve dealt with apprentices who did the same thing with detail on jewelry. That might have actually been the real deal, and it could still be worth some money if you used modeling to somehow prove the 4 is there. Because I definitely see a small outline that seems kind of promising.
The wear on the coin gives the mystery away; true 1894s dimes were struck as proofs. This coin shows wear from a common strike; various “peaks” from a proof strike would be visible even with lots of wear.
My grandmother's cousin who was an antique dealer came across one in a batch of coins. I remember him showing it to me. Cased in plexiglass. At the time he could not provide "Providence" he may have later do not know. Who knows that may have been the ice cream coin!
The guy came in smiling and smirking, like he found the Holy Grail , Rick shut him down left red in the face and almost crying...😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Scripted bro
Rick is master of heart breaking 😂😂 first... its very very rare and priceless, soon as seller offers, things suddenly become fake and useless. 😷😷
Paying off his house with selling a coin... Not if you sell it to a pawn shop
@Daniel Treadwell Yeah, I know it's possible but the price he sold it for.
One sold at auction for 1.1m few weeks back
Fo realZ
He knew he didn't have the real thing 🙄
Thank you
That's why he scratched off the last number
@@youquietinpublic you can see the top of the 4....
The one time Rick didn’t call some one in
I had the same dime except mine was from 1904. I sold it for $1 :(
randomviewer09 only worth about$10
That's not worth anything... an 1894 S though
How much is my 1907 circulated
This is what rich people and insiders do all the time. They make themselves rich. Making private coins for themselves and friends and hence making them rare, and then profiting from them. The Canadian coin makes did the exact same thing with the 1936 "dot" penny. They kept it to themselves and handed them down to their families or sold the to friends, and now it worth hundreds of thousand$.
I’m calling bs on this one... there is no way that this guy took this coin to NGC and still believed that it was an 1894S Barber dime. Even if NGC could not read the date accurately they would still be able to tell almost immediately if it was an 1894.
i think finding a silver barber is lucky enough lol
Dude got caught trying to scam.
That Would Be Like Winning The Lottery And Then Told You’re The Wrong Person That Won !
Ouch! That hurts.
I always use a Brillo pad to clean my coins before sending them to be graded by NGC...Next time tho I'm going to subject them to a grinder..
LOL!
The grinder isn't necessary, usually a few passes with a belt sander will suffice.
You gotta torture them until they tell you what you want to know.
I have three 1894s dimes. I always forget to take them off my rope necklace
Letting your wife clean that coin is like letting her drive your classic car
My wife scrubbed it off?.. how convinient that you know exactly how that happened to your fake coin
My eyes are telling me they are 1899 S-Dime
50,000 subscriber with No videos of my life
Um
Looks like an 1897 or 1899 to me.
This dime may be worth twice the face value!
Somebody call 911
Rick : the best I can do is 91
jeric lopez 9
that joke's as old as the old man was.
jeric lopez Very underrated comment! Good job.
They refused to authenticate it so I'll take 400 grand please
There is a way to chemically raise the date on the coin. It would reduce its value but definitely will be worth more than 10 cents . The coin must not be an 1894 S because I'm sure someone would have raised the date by now .
Yeah isnt there a such thing called nic a date to bri g it back
Should of used it to scratch off some lottery tickets, maybe would of won
Looks like 1884 or 1899
time to get back in the real world and go back to work to pay your house off buddy xD
I'm thinking the last number was not scraped off by accident. Lol
Wow someone who's a bigger liar then Rick. 🤗✌🏻✌🏻
He needs to go get it checked by some ONE else
My expert said its phony---but I'll give you $5000 bucks to part with it!!!!!!!!!
Even IF it was real, no one's going to buy it when the last digit is gone.
@@porkcutlet3920
ALL the 1894-S dimes had a distinctive die crack on the reverse.
if under magnification, the crack was visible, then the date could be gone and yet be proved to be an 1894-S.
This video is sponsored by: Scotch Brite. $1 only but lose a thousand dollars
Lmao
This man went home and beat his wife for being stupid. 😂😂
I think it *might* be an 1898. Whether it is or not, it's way to damaged too be worth much. I don't think she used a scotch brite. She must have used steel wool for a real long time.
Mr Krabs lost his dime again
Word to the Wise!!!!
"NEVER-EVER" Touch or Clean any ANTIQUE.
PERIOD.....................
If my wife found a half million dollar coin while weeding the carrots I’m pretty sure I’d never see or hear from her again 🤔
you sound like a weak man
@@TheDirtymikenation you sound like a man with no sense of humor
@@southernbreeze3278 you sound like a man👍
Your wife has been “weeding my carrot” for years
Coins are minted, not printed.
How about laying a paper on top of it and scratch a pencil and see if any number pops up
You don't "print" coins - you MINT them! Shocking how this mistake makes air considering these shows are all scripted.
I'm not quite sure how the date can be unverified, by deduction you can rule out certain numbers automatically. It leaves very few possibilities. What got me was the wife scrubbing the coin
Mere paas 18 19 ke bahut coin Pade Hain Indian bahut purane purane Sikke hai use Bechne ke liye kya karna padega vah batao aur kaise karna padega Aur Main To aapka Aisi fan ban gaya
Does anyone know anything about 1873 Wilhelm deutscher kaiser 10 Mark coin ?
Rick screwed another customer... where is the expert?? bring in the expert!!! Maybe it was legit? maybe not. Rick 's brain is the size of a pee. He needs an expert to point him towards the mens room
This is like the holy grail of American coins
You don't 'PRINT' dimes. I call bullschit, too many things wrong with your story.
you actually if you pause it can kinda see the top part of the 4 at 2:17.
I see a six
I have
1967 1968 1969 1976 us one dime
And 1952 1961 1964 1981 50 cents Jefferson nickels
Y esos donde la reyna Isabel lo está sentada en el trono como seis y de bárbaros de la india y de Francia de España y muchas más me gustaría venderlas pero no tan baratas y cómo si quinientos pesos de Lincoln y de trigo
You can scratch all you want no one this stupid
I watched a show, in the eighties a guy was resoldering a date number into a coin, these days if a coin is worth tons we have microscopes, x-rays and it's really hard to fake a old coin
The guy should of soaked it in baking soda and used a tooth brush, but the way it looked they scratched the year off the coin on purpose to scam for more money...nice try!
If it is so rare and valuable why would you want to sell this over the counter at a Pawn Shop?
Uh, some ppl want quick cash mate
This customer makes my skin crawl. You dont find this coin in the ground. Wipe that stupid smirk off your face
i can see 1 8 9 4
I still can see 4 on that dime
True i was thinking the same thing
Commentators on these videos are always calling the pawn shop people liars and thieves. It is expensive to run a business. Reporting sales to the state every month via the forms they send ya is a pain. Not including all the employees that see you as a cash pinata.
when trying too hard costs you 400K, dont try too hard people! dont scrub anything with a scotch brite!
Stop using real when you mean authentic. The dime is real. It is not an authentic 1894 S.
But there’s an actual mathematical formula to winning the lotto tho..finding that is just random.
1:40 That was cruel by Rick for him knowing its a fake and letting him on...
weak strike, funny to say one of the only 1800's barber dimes to be weak striked was 1895-S
an 1894-S barber dime made it to an episode of the "beverly hillbillies."
ALSO, the 1894-S dimes ALL had a distinctive die crack on the reverse.
if, under magnification there is a good chance the die crack would be visible.
BTW, they were NOT struck as proof coins.
All 9 are proofs
Body language and facial expressions say it all. NEXT!
:42 wtf is up with Ricks fingers?
I could see the 94 no problem
I hear its still on sale for 400k if your interested. Only flaw is it was put through a bench grinder
Ummm my wife scratched it with a Brillo pad......
He gave his daughter one of the dimes and she bought 🍦🍨 with it ... True story ., I think😅
Looked like 1894 to me, with the 4 being really faded.
I kinda see the 4 also
I have am 1893 O mint that's in better condition and actually real.
