When I got started, I would spend every available minute on weekday nights and all day Saturday to work on my channel. But this was hard on my family, and I missed out on time with them. So, I took a step back and asked myself how many hours do I really need to produce one long form video weekly. This led me to allocate two hours per night Monday to Thursday for my channel, but outside of that I don’t work on it. It felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders and my family is happy to have me around again on Saturdays.
Thanks, Sean. I bartend full time at the Palms in Las Vegas and full-time UA-cam. Everything you talked about, I've actually implemented. Great information !
This type of content is well needed. I took a season where I only went ALL in on my passion projects. But that just left me in a whole. Being able to work an actual job while also growing the career you want is crucial
I needed this today. Been hustling to create, edit and launch… but feeling like I’m drowning… but really hustling… but hearing this helps give me perspective. ❤
Thank you, Sean! Even though I am not working full time right now, I still find it a challenge to find the time to work on UA-cam. Inbetween helping elderly parents and dealing with health issues and going to doctor's appointments and actively searching for a job, I try to work on my videos when there is an open gap in the schedule. When I find a block of free time, I batch produce everything! I might even wake up in the middle of the night and knock out a bunch of videos and just create the thumbnails during the day so I can schedule the videos later. Things change on a whim and emergencies come up so it's always unexpected when free time come up. Hopefully this can become my full time job soon!
Thanks Sean! For having be here to help us… I’m here from Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 and those his contents helping me to be a better UA-camr and as well learn eng🥹one day I will go there to meet you🤝 one like ❤️ who is new UA-camr here as I’m😄
I am part of your little group but time is an issue but I get to watch you all the time I absolutely love this video and every single one that you do You taught me so much I have a disability that is undetectable by the eye so a lot of people don't understand what I'm doing and why I'm doing it but because of you I know I'm on a path and a destiny to find my purpose and what God wants me to do to help others to get rid of things that don't serve me anymore You taught me that You taught me it's okay to take a break that I can take care of myself when I'm down and when I feel good I kick ass I absolutely have learned so so so much from you and I keep watching and scaling up I'm excited for where I'm going and I don't mind going slow because I have nothing to lose I came from nothing and I have something today respect patience focused I absolutely love follow one course until successful oh my God I am trying so hard to continue to hear that over and over and over again something else I learned from you Thank you to so much for all you do and I'm here for you as a friend following you looking forward to meeting you someday lol
Sean, This one following since day 1. Red Robin yes. U Just off a few hours having worked the night before, & Sean was lastout. I remember in 1 video.Sean first up this morning & was actually doing the videography for a fellow creator ,woman in this instance. . This instance. Another time After working long shift & late to meet up with video family... Got down to business. Folks learn listen all Sean speaks true!. He lived what he's talking. I watched what he speaks in real time. Also certain much of what he shoots out as taglines were from his notes taken the day it happened. If y'all can find his first works ...easy back machine.... Might be worth the trip . Will be, if serious about this crafty business.
I do work a 9 to 5 job. I work Monday through Fridays, so I only have Saturdays and Sundays to try to put content on UA-cam because I don’t have car only a bike and I live in Arizona where right now It is really hot outside to make videos so it’s kind of difficult for me to find and create decent videos.
I am at the point where I'm really aiming to get ahead of my upload schedule (which is once a week) so that by Christmas I may be a month (2 if possible) ahead, so that if something comes up, I can sit rest assured that videos still will go up every Friday, that if I get the flu, my channel will keep going on. Might be a hustle at the moment...and some time taken away from my family, but they'll get it back a few weeks/months from now. And I usually do schedule time away from my MacBook and UA-cam tasks, even if it is just 30 minutes here or an hour there to do household tasks around my kids, so I can check in on what they're up to and what's going on in their world and have conversation whilst I sweep, do dishes, fold laundry etc.
Thanks Sean. I would just say that batching isn't necessarily a universal strategy for filming because of relevancy of the topic and other logistics. It is impossible in my niche outside of taking off several days of work. Not criticism just pointing this out.
I work a 9-5 and I come home work on the business for 2 hours. Weekends, I have a lot of free time to work on the business. Also, I am a early riser as well, which is helpful. You have 40 hours in a day. Use it wisely. As always, thanks for the gems 💎💎💎💎
