So...... I guess my play style is Drunk Monkey lol... aimlessly move, occasionally eliminate with luck, confuse enemy with odd movement, and crash into things
LOL
Same
I use the bot play style. I keep changing servers until I find the server with fewest real players. Lol lol lol doesn't always work.
This but I can aim
I feel with u, sadly -.-
Nothing beats capybara style.
Would that be the one player in a meadow waiting for a hug?
@@TheGuyinthePurpleCari don’t think that would work in ranked games
Hehe, Crapybarbra is my best favorite animal...

Zarraxus is more like T-800 Style - " It cant be bargained with, it cant be reasoned with, it doesnt feel pity, remorse, or fear and it will not stop EVER......until you are dead. "
😂😂for real !
I'm wheezing laughing at this 🤣🤣
Wait!! Have you actually ever seen a zarraxus? Before dying?? lol... I'm usually just falling out and looking around asking wtf just happened?
Born to be a dragon, forced to be a viper
No one can force u to be a viper player tho, if u wanna rush everyone then do it till u master it
Facts
If the viper had wings he would become the dragon 🐉
I try and try and try again cause it's too fun breathing fire all game 🐉
I like the honeybadger style - w+shift or drive a car all game (no sneaking), and punish anyone who dares to shoot at you :D
There's also the dishonourable forbidden style of the rat :D
😅😅😅😅
The dragon style is one of my personal favorites especially in squads! I always rush and wipe teams 😂 now it's a bit harder with only wings as movement but dashes still come in clutch
Viper to Dragon: "So, are we rushin' them, or going in sneaky-beaky-like?"
Zarraxus playing with Bushcampdad:
@@ErykRoll *WHEEZE!!* XD
And yes folks, I know it's actually "sneaky-peeky-like", it's just the guy's Scottish accent in that CS:GO meme video made it sound more like "beaky".
„please dont unsubscribe“ 😂
Naming the styles like that is so nerdy….but owning the nerdiness is awesome! Loved the video man
Super nerdy but a very good video about playstyles
@@tomhancock 100%
I would say my natural style is the viper style. But attempting to learn the tiger and dragon styles has helped me be more comfortable in fights.
Likewise
Nothing beats the RottenTwinkies playstyle...period.
lets gooo i was watching Zarraxus stream and you and him Duo then heard you drop the video idea that you were working on and you said you were questioning if its good or not your videos have helped me sooo much and my brother and many more and the fact you do it in a ninja sensei style is so sick so dont doubt yourself you make sick videos sensei 🙏🏻🙏🏻
do you think they would help in builds?
I always enjoy how you layout the videos. Very well explained.
Great survey of different tactics! Love the style of organizing them into “animal” archetypes. Good point that the best players have the skills to play any style and can switch between them. I’m going to try to learn more Viper Style tactics since I have been taking fights indiscriminately lately.
I definitely play as a tiger. Adapting my playstyle depending on the terrain. And who I'm fighting.
I would say I am a tiger but in lower levels like a baby tiger lol great video toby!!
I think you are also a baby dragon 😂😊
I've not done any research or strategic planning before watching this video, but the Viper play strategy describes my gameplay PERFECTLY.
I play like a viper with just a touch of tiger. I average around 10 eliminations per game, and rotate a lot, always moving, but not hunting down fights. I don't like to camp, it's boring, so I'm more likely to encounter fights because of high-rotation but they are most always defensive (unless I am 4x scope third partying). I try to begin games by dropping at a location I know very well, but isn't always hot (i like Rebels Roost), try my best to get a gatekeeper with drum for slot 1, and then waterbending/war-forged AR/thunderburst SMG for slot 2. for early and mid game I like slot 3 to be a DMR with 4x. then heals/bunks/shocks for slot 4 and 5. (i leave the wings alone entirely) When 10 players are left I switch my DMR for Chains of Hades as it is so good for close-range end-game fights. I prioritize constantly getting in zone early and getting very good cover and not initiating fights unless they are AI or a sure thing. I employ the come and find out strategy quite a bit. When a fight starts I move around a lot, and put on a lot of pressure. When game is down to 3 remaining players, I try to let the last two remaining players fight each other by being stealthy, and then using Chains of Hades for the last fight, and with that strategy I have been winning almost every other game. 95% of the time I am top two and If I lose it was a very even/close 1v1.
That's that kind of playstyle I need to start doing.
I need to play like that too
Appreciate the shoutout! Very well put together video!
Kevvvvvvvvvvvvvv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another great video, Toby!
I think I may slowly be adapting the Tiger style. Im a long way from where I could be, but that's okay.
This video also taught me that we don't have to become the dragon to be good at the game. Thank you!
Loved this vid! Super cool to see it like this
Thanks!
Great content as usual! You’re the best Toby!
Amazing tips!! Thanks for sharing
Just found the channel, and I already enjoy and appreciate all the helpful tips and commentary! I’m currently Unreal in ZB, utilizing the “Snake” style, prioritizing end game, and keeping tabs on everyone and where they might be/will be, I always just thought of it as having a tactical approach
Thank you Toby!
Love the dorky content bro 🙏
Thank you for the video. I have been struggling with finding a play style, this video helped me understand how I have been losing against different player types. Thanks again.
This is Amazing 👏🤩 Great Video, made my morning 🌄👏
Love that video man. Such cool way to explain different ways to enjoy and win games. I've been a viper my whole fortnite "career" since chapter 1 season 3. Sometimes i do play agressive but only when i damage enemies before getting into close shotgun combat. I rely on my Nemesis or DMR shots.
Playing the viper, getting at least top 10 almost every game
it’s funny that this video popped up in my recommended cause i remember your name from a fortnite match that i played yesterday. it’s really memorable!
love all your vids bro keep it up
This video was so great! Was playing some great games with my younger cousin over the weekend, picked up a couple dubs in a row. Your lessons carried me to victory! I was landing some nasty damage and elims in midrange solely because I kept right side peek and my opponents didn’t.
Damn Toby. Another great video. Thank you.
This video is also very useful for thinking about how to play in teams with people with these different playstyles
Awesome breakdown!
This surprisingly made me subscribe.
Toby your my man, every time you explain something new to me, it’s always something I needed, cus right now I don’t even have a style until I saw this vid❤❤
It’s funny, I relate most to the tiger playstyle & evolve jake, prospering, and you are my favorite streamers, so I think you nailed this one on the head.
My boy Zarraxus!!!!!!
such a good video toby!!!
It's not dorky it's cool you made this.
Thank you for teaching, I respect you man.
I’m here for the nerdy videos. Keep em coming!
Similar to your concept of Dragon, Tiger and Viper playstyles, there's a theory made by an FGC (Fighting Games Community) player named Laugh, describing three types of players: Brains, Heart and Body.
Brains AKA Viper - Smart and strategic players with the baggage of knowledge of the game, that tend to calculate every move to achieve goals with minimal risks.
Heart AKA Tiger - emotion-driven players, that like to do mind games and making reads, during the heat of the match.
Body AKA Dragon - a type of players, known for their physical capabilities, which in a game like Fortnite, a good aim and movement. A most straight forward one.
In a perfect scenario, all three attributes are required to be a good video game player, although it's impossible to completely embody all of the types, or just one of them. That's sorta how in RPGs, characters have different stats. So, just like how players can switch between different styles in your concept, players in Laugh's theory tend to be close to a certain type, while having something from others.
So dive brawl poke thing
Ty
This is great 👍 your vids make me better 🙌🙌🙌
Every. Single. Video. Is 🔥 your videos for sure have helped me more than you know! I'm so grateful to have stumbled across your videos months ago. Being a noob to gaming in general and def a noob to fps type games watching your videos and learning so many things has helped me feel more confident even as a noob to the point where I don't even think I'm a noob anymore 😂😂😂 so all that said thank you so much for the content you put out there it truly is invaluable 😊
I prefer Sloth style. Slowly moving and trying to figure out how to move without getting killed 😂😂
Rat + Viper:
Haven't finished yet, still watching, but want to comment. I have definitely started the season as a viper, but have been transitioning to dragon. Fun terminology Toby! I remember you mentioning it on Z's stream
top tier video here. I love watching Z play and Ive tried the dragon playstyle to some success but its not how I naturally play or enjoy this game, I prefer to outsmart my opponents
This was a great video, not dorky! I recently hit champs in Ranked Zero Build but the only problem is I SUCK. I care about my rank too much and don't push at all. I just camp in bushes and I can't seem to get better/apply creative skills to Actual Games. My goal is to get to Unreal and play like a Dragon or Tiger. If you have any tips, that would be helpful. Thanks!
Practice pushing with ranked mode turned off. Or get used to close combat in creative maps like 1v1 or the pit. You hesitate cause you lack confidence, which is cause you lack experience. Dont be afraid to make mistakes and die. Just keep trying and you will surely improve! If you can't figure out what you're doing wrong, go to your replays and see what happened. Watch from your opponents pov too. You got this!!
@@sweetsunshine6476 thanks. I'll practice that later today.
I’d say u should reach unreal by trying the “viper” playstyle, once u reach unreal go full dragon to enhance ur skills
@@ErykRoll yeah, because you cant go down
@@sweetsunshine6476 thanks for this. Good advice.
I'm a mix between tiger and viper (well accept in creative lmao, cause then I feel comfortable being a dragon too). So yeah, definitely working on my dragon style in my next matches!
Great vid
I’ll say I have the tiger playstyle currently because I can be aggressive but I know that I need to run away and knowing that one player is knocked or weak is something that can bait the other team. I know I can come off as a dragon since I love the close combat, but I find myself having that mid range pressure and I always carry 3 weapons with movement and the fizz
Oh hey Jake. It's always cool when I see creators interact with/talk about each other. Cause like of course I'm aware that they know of each other, but still hearing it it's like "Oh hey, this guy that I really like watching is talking about this other guy I really like watching". IDK Always kinda cool
I like your labelling of styles. Like science, labelling helps mental categorization.
lol. I would fall into your Viper category
You're absolutely right. This is a very nerdy topic 😅In all seriousness, thank you for the hard work on the content :)
Nice vid! What do use to edit the clips?
I play most like a viper. I always try to position myself and get the best loadout, most of my engagements are played in viper style
i started getting way more wins when playing “viper” always making sure i have the right shoulder peak on enemies and rotating
Ahhh. Crouching tiger, hidden dragon 🐉
I consider myself a very slippery and clever viper.
I encountered my first dragon style player and we had a good 5 minute long chase across the map. I could NOT lose this guy despite pulling every trick in the book and i definitely was the hardest kill he had that game (i spectated the rest).
It’s incredibly hard to fight someone that has mastered that style.
Have you made a video on loot routes for this season?
I’ve watched a lot of content from you and evolve jake and got pretty decent at the Tiger play style without giving much thought to it hahahahaha
this is a really good video
As 1976er (old fart) is a year of dragon, only 1 option. And loving it. As u say, loads fun.
I love your recommendations, but I also like to incorporate my native land’s play style, the chupacabra style 💀😂
Cool video!
Feels like I'm in a kung fu movie with the different styles!! Another great video! Thank you!
I really appreciate this video. I’ve only been playing FN for a little over 2 years, so unfortunately I consider myself a rat. But I am an aspiring Vioer because I think that’s likely my sweet spot. We’ll see! Toby it would be really cool to see a follow up that talked about team dynamics and composition for the different play styles. Especially for different team sizes. My son is a dragon for sure, but my son-in-law is a viper. It’s been interesting to try to play trios vs duos. Me and my SIL do much better together. Thanks for all the great content!
I have a very aggressive playstyle, but I don't have the skills to get the kill when I get there LOL.
Same brother same ...unless i play with my Daughter then im just a decent side kick
Evolve Jake uses the Dinosaur method.
LOL
he's an average player in EU server
Guarantee he’s better than you are 😂
@@misterxfinity5759 I don’t think he was trying to make fun of him at all tho
@@misterxfinity5759 how do you know that ?
Im a Viper , But a little bit of a tiger. I’m a very strategic player, I like to kill and damage from a distance. Taking them by surprise. Before I push. My team is the same we push as a unit. I really think about what I’m going to do before hand. How I’m going to attack, my escape plan if it goes side ways, then execute. Key positioning, Same with preparation for rotation, mid and end game. With this we win more than we lose. Lead my team to over 250 wins this season. 117 crowns.
I definitely use the Tiger Style
Been missing your videos! Been too long since your last educational piece
Best video In a while too, definitely made me contemplate a lot about my gameplay
shinobi, could you do vod review weekends where you vod review your subcribers zero build gameplay ?
I'm a viper player. i still get 10-17 kills per game. This game style is most successful through any meta.
I'm on a journey to master the DEMON style 🔥
I think dragon in the early game, tiger in the mid, and viper in late game, at least in pubs because there’s no downside so might as well be aggressive early and then play more carefully as the lobby dwindles. In ranked, at low ranks the dragon will probably rank you up quicker and transition to viper as you get higher.
Nah on pubs u can go full dragon or full tiger since ur not risking anything important (rank loss), unless ur trying to farm crown wins then rush everyone u see and clean the lobby before the 10th zone
Did you mention that the dragon style is often the type of player who has a very large ego and becomes toxic when things don't go his way???
I've noticed that.
i play builds yet i think your videos can still somewhat help.
Dragon style goes hard. I carry 3 slots of mobility in any season it exists.
Zarraxus is an absolute beast
Well done, and who cares about being nerdy; nerds always save the day! :D I think I tend to lean toward viper style a lot of the time in solos. But I’m challenged with this in duos with my buddy who is all Rambo Dragon style. But he’s a better and faster player so I mostly play a supportive role.
Can you more videos like this ❤
Best i have seen in fortnite history.
I need to hear about panda and penguin play styles
How difficult will it be to train this "dragon" style of play on mobile, obviously not impossible, but how difficult will it be?
Lol that intro got me cracked up
I think I’m a tiger style but idk I push ppl look for em and land in hot spots I like 1v4s what yall think my style would qualify as sins it is kinda a mix of all 3
Gotta say dragon style is so much easier when playing with a controller
That aimfixing thing is just enough to make aerial atacks much more viable
finally a tutorial video
You should check out Slinky 2, his "Tiger Style" gameplay is too good👌
Tfue might be another former top tier dragon
Tiger Style and Wu-Tang Sword Style
"If what you say is true then the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang could be dangerous"
A game of chess is like a sword fight you must think first before you move
Tiger style
Shockwaving yourself through a wall and catching the enemy by surprise.
8:00 Toby calls Rats Close Range Structure Fight Specialists.
I’m a viper except I use storm circle and pre go to the next one and just camp up and have a smoke ahah
One thing you missed that maybe a lot of people miss is that a viper never fights the weakest link. He figures out who’s being the most confident and waits and attacks them. This makes the final fight easier as they’ve already killed the best player when they were at their weakest
Im definitely the "viper" style guy lmao
dragon by nature, diving and dieing like a dove
