    If your trailer catches fire like that this is what to do. Stop ASAP, unlock the 5th wheel air, pull trailer brake handle, go forward to slide the 5th wheel all the way back, apply the brake and emergency, run out and pull the handle, release parking brakes, drop the trailer on the ground and move the truck far away. Depending on the freight it could get very dangerous and the hot ash could burn your truck as well.

    • @markm0000
      @markm0000 5 років тому +1

      Some guy commented about not sliding the 5th wheel back. You could do that but when the trailer drops on the tires and frame the crossbar between the frame catches the kingpin and you’re stuck. I forgot to mention the air lines and power cable. You’re going to want to disconnect those as well if you have time. If the trailer is already a ball of fire screw the cables you can replace those.

    99% of the problems with and in CA started in Sacramento. You could become a felon just for crossing into CA from NV or AZ. Gun laws don't turn criminals into honest, law-abiding citizens; gun laws turn honest, law-abiding citizens into criminals (and vitcims). Parts of I-40 was build on the origninal Route 66 road bed. The level of ME FIRST and self entitlement is the same and the level of Class A drivers that ARE ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS of the vehicle they drive when they follow too closely, text while driving, attempt to drive tired... is also out of control. You can carry, but must abide by that states laws that you traveling through. Been drivin for 13 years, carrying all the time for 7 years. I usually carry between my glock 22, sig p938 and sometimes my taurus pt111. In california you cant have a mag over 10rds, and the gun has to be transported in a key locked case, unloaded and mag and ammo in a separate location from the gun. NY, NJ, MD DONT GO THERE WITH A GUN PERIOD!!!!!!! In illinois you can have a loaded gun in the truck for as long as you dont leave the truck, if you do leave you gotta unload and lock up the gun till u get back. ALL THIS IS ASSUMING YOU HACE A VALID LICENSE TO CARRY IN YOUR STATE. Been pulled over in scales, roadside, etc.... ive always disclosed i have a permit to carry to the officers and told them where the gun was and never had any issues. KEY IS TO KNOW THE BASIC FIREARM LAWS IN EVERY STATE YOUR PLANNING ON TRAVELING THROUGH AND FOLLOWING THEIR LAWS WHILE IN THEIR STATE. be sure your permit is recognized(reciprocity) in the states you go through, otherwise gun needs to be unloaded and locked up. In florida when i went to certain ports, they had lock boxes at security where i locked my gun before entering, must call ahead to ask them if they have lock boxes and if they dont, you have to call a gun store and 99% of them will store your gun for a day or so. Im from michigan, and i drive to florida and back for a living and occasionally to arizona and back.... now private businesses like walmart and so on that dont allow you with a gun on their property, well leave it in the truck and 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫...........

    You need a CCW permit in every state you travel into unless the state recognizes your current CCW. You can get your firearm and ammo taken away then cited if caught. Most of the time they'll take your ammo, give your gun back and cite you.

    Here in Philippines if you go on shopping or groceries you should bring your own eco bag because the store has only paper bags. But if you want to put it in a plastic bag you pay for it. It's not free. It's mandatory, Our Government did that law to lessen polution, because we people lack of discipline throwing garbage anywhere that trash might get stuck into the drainage that will cause floods. But it's good for our nature.

    Texas is so big and much of it empty so it easy to have speeds like that. In a lot of state their just car everywhere so it a lot more dangerous but saying that most states treat you like you are to stupid to go over 65 it drives me crazy. Most highway you can go 75 easy. Plus they want to be able to keep their ticket money coming in so they want you going to slow knowing your going to go faster than what it say because it so slow and than give you a ticket for going what the speed limit should be. In Ohio their a cop every mile.

    you can carry in any state that honors your state which is almost all other then cali washington oregon ny nj maryland all your super liberal states. you can google a map witht hte state your permit is in and see. be safe,, Contrary to what many drivers believe, there is no federal law that prohibits truck drivers from carrying guns in their trucks as long as they adhere to local and state laws. However, many carriers prohibit company drivers from carrying weapons.

    federal government does not have any law saying not carry gun on commercials vehicle s,but some local government will give you hard time ,plus you not allowed serve a lot places like port airport government building, even some shippers have signs ((no gun to enter).so it's not a good idea to carry a gun on the truck. good luck -stay safe -

    Haha I have the same tire thumper, 13 years and counting! No paint left on it but does the job. Great video, so much else I want to comment on but no need to write a book right now.
    Keep it up driver, glad to see you’re one of the good ones. It’s all the unprofessional steering wheel holders out here that give the rest of us a bad name
    Edit: remembered one thing I wanted to say. I wouldn’t have done anything with those loose bottles. Shipper loaded ‘em, it’s on them. Food grade packaging, so let them decide what to do with the ones that were on the floor

    I’ve been out here on the road trucking for over forty years and never, never had any problems to warrant self defense. Now that doesn’t mean that I am not keeping my defense up. I have learned over the years to just shut up about yourself and drive on. Like a ship passing through the night. Yielding no problems.

    I wish we had dash cams and GPS when I drove semi’s. Thomas Guide and the CB were your lifelines.
    As for carrying, it varies from state to state. California doesn’t recognize any other states CCW. I always carried and kept my pistol in my sleeper.
    As for nasty roads, check out the Donner Pass.

    No you can not carry a hand gun. There is no such thing as a federal permit. Some states have reciprocal agreements With others states. Here in CT there is no reciprocity agreements. There had been proposals for national reciprocity but many police departments oppose it. NYC doesn’t want people from Wyoming walking their streets with a couple of six shooters on their hips. But horrible drivers from NY are welcome in Chyanne

    If you have questions about the CCW, I’d suggest you join a group like USCCA (there’s several out there) and get advice from of their attorney’s. There’s lots of different rules depending on the state your and they will pay legal fees if you do end up having to defend yourself

    Not every state has reciprocity with all others when it comes to CC. There for while you can have Cc in one state, it means nothing in some other. So no you should not Cc in a truck.
