- Tabla is considered as one of the most popular Percussion Instrument of Indian Music. Ustad Masit Khan Saheb is considered as one of the all time greatest tabla players of Farrukhabad Gharana . He was the Son of Ustad Nanhe Khan Saheb , legendary Tabla Player of Farrukhabad Gharana. He was born at Muradabad ,UP
He was a court Musician at Rampur Darbar under Nawab Hamid Ali .Later on he moved from Rampur (U.P.) to Kolkata (West Bengal) and spread his knowledge of Tabla .Among his many Students his only Son Ustad Karamatullah Khan was also a legendary Tabla Player of Farrukhabad Gharana. His Student Pt .Gnan Prakash Ghosh was Considered very knowledgeable Tabla Player .
Ustad Masit Khan Saheb's Student Shri Rai Chandra Boral was a renowned Music Director and has very important contribution in Indian Film Industry.

He is the real god of tabla. Nobody could be better then him. Today the tabla we play is of him only. His technique of 3 finger terekite and and special band baj is one of the unique thing we found in Pure Farukkabad style.
