You two have truly embraced the minimalistic lifestyle that most people only dream of, sacrificing the comfort of family, friends, and established careers to live fully on the water. It’s not easy, and I know it hasn’t always been simple, but through the challenges of boat life, you’ve only strengthened your connection as a couple. Whether managing resources, navigating rough seas, or adapting to life's constant changes on the water, every challenge has brought you closer. You’re not just surviving together you’re thriving, finding strength in each other and the shared adventure. The freedom you’ve gained is priceless, but it’s the deep bond you’ve built along the truly remarkable way, and that's evident in your vlogs. Keep embracing this journey together, and keep living your dream.
Hey mate, they are beautiful words that resonate with us. It isn’t always easy but it’s the life we have chosen whole heartedly. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts in this comment. It’s really awesome to read. Going to pin this one! Cheers mate, Josh
Phoebe, your writing/narration is exceptional. The three of you are a pleasure to watch as you grow and mature on and off Innerbloom. Thanks for sharing your honesty and integrity with the rest of us. Best to Josh.
Good stuff. I've heard other sailors say that after a week or two on land they miss the life they've chosen on their boat. Long long trip Pheobe, and a wonderful smile and the joy of seeing Josh was very cool. Pheobe, the brightest smile on the seven seas. Stay safe. ❤🙏
Phoebe, Josh, you two need to meet up with SV Delos, the GOATs of sailing, they are in Brisbane for the next 12+ months. They are building their new boat, Delos 2.0, with Stradbroke Yachts. Brian and Karin are a wealth of sailing knowledge. You will love them
Hello my friend, we would love that opportunity. I’ve watched and adored the adventures aboard Delos across all seasons of their sailing lives. I imagine they have plenty on with the new build but if we are lucky our paths will cross somewhere along the way! Cheers mate Josh
Hey guys, plenty of retired folk who would be happy to boat sit for you guys … keep in mind!! The boat is looking great and you are certainly a great skipper and first mate in just making sure things are 100%
It does sound odd, but in reality it’s true. Maybe in the future we will have enough space for friends and family to visit us on the boat comfortably, but until then a break is always a good reset! Cheers Josh
Yo my bro laser pro are the go I’ve found the 6+ action get too wild over 4.5 knots it’s my slow sailing choice then swap to 2 m laser when the wind picks up. I’m using 70lb sneider mono with 100 lb leader on a similar outfit to yours. Braid may help the deep diver? The line can be pain to manage can’t lift the bail arm or it goes every where!😂I use the drag to let the lure out then tighten right up can skull drag Big Spanish this way even though I only have 100 m line capacity I just prefer mono for trolling more stretch more forgiving. When this sailer can afford I would love a decent overhead reel 🎉I do upgrade the trebles I haven’t tried the singles hook ups lol Cheers Guys see you out there!
Hey Adam thanks heaps for this info. Feels good to finally be catching some fish! I like the singles over the trebles as it knocks the fish around much less if we opt to release. Cheers mate! Josh
Good the hear your having success!! !! Also the purple laser with the horizontal stripes and silver belly is my favourite can catch tuna doing 2 knots on that one!!
Hey guys! What brand is your little 12V dehumidifier? We had one on the boat in north QLD but was so bulky and always on the way 😂 (we are on a 35ft too). Does it need a vent for the hot air to go out? And did you plumb it into the bilge or does the condensed water go into a little tank in the unit? Cheers! Hopefully see you next year along the east coast!
Heya! It’s a cheap 240V version I converted to 12V ($100 online 2 years ago) It has internal storage tank and also option to run a drain line. We try to keep our bilge dry and don’t direct any water in there so I would run it through the sink sump if need be. It doesn’t have any provisions for expelling hot air but deffinitly does a good job at removing moisture in the boat! Cheers, Josh :)
Hey you two Nana Bern here sans Luna ... hahaha... i've had practically nil wifi ... internet i shite here where I am... just tried to get on to send a couple of emails and slipped into youtube to see if I could watch anything and saw your vid come up... have a wonderful time at the wedding ! and keep having fun... btw I lived in Townsville twice as a young girl growing up and knew Magnetic Is well ... that was in the 50s and 60s... well before the hectic lifestyle up there nowadays... anyway... I'll see Luna in a couple weeks so will let her know I watched another vid without her... much love Nana Bern xx PS I read NEVER by Ken Follett just a month or so ago. !!! Great read...
Awesome you got to check it out Bern! You were our first comment on the video :) Maggy would have been pretty wild in the 50s and 60s I imagine. We just caught up with Rob last night at his new restaurant. So stoked! Glad you got some Ken! I can’t get enough 😆 Josh
sounds like a business opportunity, or service trade situation, where you hire someone who has certification or license to baby sit / live on your boat while you are away? or simply offer a licensed sitter a place to live for x amount of days while you are off on adventure? Hmmmm.... says he...
Hey mate, yes this sounds possible. Probably much better suited to production boats that don’t have endless amounts of fiddly little systems that need to be taught and are delicate. House sitting is one thing but a boat that can float away, sink, burn down or be broken from simple mistakes worries me too much 😅 Cheers, Josh

I guess even people whose lives seem to be something of a vacation, need a vacation. :)

Cutest sailing couple on UA-cam! And, you are easier to understand than Sailing La Vagabond - their Aussie accent is pretty thick at times. 😳
That’s big wraps mate thanks for the love! It’s incredible how different states and territories in Aus have such diversity in accent.
