Virgil Earp, after tombstone, ended up back in Colton, CA, where, even with just one arm, he was their first marshal. His home is still there on H Street.

Seeing Tombstone brings back major memories for me since I went to high school about a half hour from the town. My uncle even got married, and lived in Tombstone for a while and I was ring bearer at the wedding when I was a small kid.

Pella, Iowa is the childhood home of Wyatt Earp. Pella is where his brothers were born. It's a nice little Dutch town that has some neat shops, a working windmill & museum, and some great food! If you get a chance, you should take a look at the Earp homestead. The house is inside the museum, but it's on a separate tour from the working windmill. My mom got to play the pump organ inside the house! The best time to go is during the Tulip Festival, but it's really busy... so anytime that isn't "Tulip Time" is just as good and there's less lines.

Dude. I hope you read these, but if you've not yet been to Bisbee, go. It's got a lot of touristy stuff there, too, but the best part is the mine tour. It's not a walking tour like the one in Tombstone: you actually climb onto a small railcar and ride down into the mine. Deep. It's awesome. And it's maybe a 30 minute drive from Tombstone. Lived down in Sierra Vista and used to visit Bisbee and Tombstone regularly.

I was an East Cleveland cop and we were cleaning out a storage area and I found some old police blotters from the 1890s. I saw where they reported dead horses abandoned on the streets. Like dead horse at Euclid Avenue and so and so street. There were a lot of these reports. I never thought about dead horses and what was done with them. I should have grabbed them they probably went to the land fill.

IDK if this is the vid or not, but one of you Tombstone vids talks about seeing a cat. There are many. They typically are great cats. Some love attention. They are also snakers. Those cats go after rattlesnakes and the like. They help keep Tombstone safe for visitors and that is why you often will see dishes out for water for them. I learned that from a friend living there and shop keepers that do not talk a lot about it cause it could scare people. My kids and I went early and met up with ne of these cats and he wa awesome. You would think a domesticated lover. I got back he was one of the best snake killers they got around and owned by noone.

On a side note, I was just doing some family history yesterday and I just learned that my great grandfather was born in 1867. I thought that can't be right? But he was almost fifty when my grandfather was born. My great grandpa was alive during the OK corral incident which is neat to me.

For some chills and thrills check out Boothill Graveyard, Bird Cage Theatre, Nellie Cashman's Restaurant, Buford House, Schieffelin Hall, and Big Kate's Saloon. All are haunted. Also, spirits still wander the streets, so tell Julio not to linger on the streets in Tombstone after dark. 👻

Yep, the OK wasn't an indicator of how good the corral and livery were...The term O.K. was a relatively new term. The hometown of President Martin Van Buren was named Old Kinderhook. Van Buren was supported by a political club in his home town of Old Kinderhook originally called the “Oll Korrect” club. The name was later changed to “Old Kinderhook” and then shortened to “O.K.”. Rumor has it that Old Man Kindersley's father had been a Van Buren supporter and he followed suit on the naming convention....original the Old Kindersley corral...then shortened to the O.K. Corral....
