This just seems to be a hugely missed opportunity on the dev's part. The game actually looks really neat in the first stage, providing some sort of "battle pinball" stage presented as the bike chase. It unfortunately seems to just become basically the same board for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stages, only changes being the three-stage swap the game does with the bottom half of the play area, and the Akira capsule and SOL mini-boards in stage 4, albeit they don't really have much to capture anything in the player, rather than to play out scenes from the movie while you slowly hit the satellite like 15 times, or break open 10 Akira test tubes. Heck, the second stage is just doing the same task 3 times in a row for crying out loud, get the key card, go through the door, repeat. Looking at other videos, I see there's also an "Underground Sewer" mini-board in stage 2, that isn't required to progress through the game. It also appears there's a 2-player versus mode, of which there's only 1 video I could find of it on UA-cam, and yes, it is the battle pinball board from the first stage, now with 2-player functionality. All in all I feel it was a missed opportunity that they didn't stick with the battle pinball theme the whole way through, could've been a bit more interesting than generic "hit this target to progress the pinball quests" stuff. Different boards, different themes for who you're fighting, and different CPU strengths.
yes, it is. but the akira clips must be unlocked in cronological order(according to the film) to progress to the next part of the pinball machine and finish the game

yes, it is. but the akira clips must be unlocked in cronological order(according to the film) to progress to the next part of the pinball machine and finish the game
