    I got red pilled so hard this year as a result of the shutdown and turning to all these internet rabbit holes. I remember I used to see JP videos recommended to me and I would try and watch but could never get fully through because the indoctrination wouldn't allow me. My brain would fight it lol. Like literally. That's how scary strong the programming is. There was always some things I slightly agreed with, like the gender thing. But even then I would still somehow do these mental gymnastics in my brain to justify the lunacy. And it's so insane to step out of that now and now watch others do this. And to now watch JP and not be opposed to anything he's saying. I don't know what triggered the shift but I'm so thankful it happened. The biggest change was realizing all the victim shit was literally all in my head. It's all mental. Ive had an incredible and blessed life. Being a woman and being black, which in the left's eyes would make me the victim queen. But I'm realizing now how great we have all had it in the US. And its down right disrespectful to women who came before me and black people who came before me who actually were slaves and oppressed to even sit here and pretend that im anything near that. I could slap myself for ever thinking that way. I just wanted to share that. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

    • @williamh5780

      I love reading messages like this. That mental transformation is very grueling, it's a massive upheaval.
      The thing that amazes me sometimes is that there are young ppl that already get it or that have already had that transformation. Great stuff.

    • @chenanigans
      @chenanigans 3 роки тому +9

      @@williamh5780 thank you for that kind message. I'm still fascinated every day how I made the transformation knowing how strong the conditioning is. I guess it helps that I always was a skeptical person in general and it must have been the "pandemic" that started it all. Things just didnt add up and make sense. Then one search for truth lead to another. And veils became lifted. It's hard and I don't know what will help others. But def don't count them out. Because it can happen. If anyone shows any slight interest in listening to any diff view point, welcome their curiosity with open arms.

      @@chenanigans yea, absolutely.
      It's an odd one because the inner turmoil I had to go through before I was willing to question my fundamental beliefs was so painful that I worry about whether other ppl will be able to go through it but... I did and I'm nothing special, so they can too.
      And maybe most ppl aren't as far gone as I was lol. Who knows, but like said, we should welcome others curiosity, there are some hopeful signs in the culture I think.

    • @lidahall5928
      @lidahall5928 3 роки тому +2

      I've been through a similar experience, but wouldn't call it being "red pilled".
      However, over the past year I did come to realize that those screaming the loudest about being oppressed _are no such thing_ and are, in fact, actively working to oppress others (particularly in the case of many in one certain demographic). Biological facts *are not hateful* - compelled speech, OTOH, *is.*
      I do agree with Peterson about the evils of far-left totalitarianism being woefully under taught to those in our age group. Half my family fled from behind the Iron Curtain (some of them _were_ truly oppressed too) and the attrition of so many towards the hard left terrifies me. Lazy thinking seems to be cherished by this ideology, as are thought-terminating clichés. When I realized this was forcing me to accept a certain world view, I fought against it, through the discomfort my cognitive dissonance was causing me. I'm so relieved that I did.

      You are joking right? More influential than all of UofT. Is Peterson speaking as a psychologist when ranting or just an ignorant dilettante? He seems to stepping out on a limb and not offering scientific fact, but his own personal bias and opinion and that ain't good for being such a smart puppy.
      And on the question of honesty....is Peterson really honest or misguided? Many people admired Dr, William Shockley, a brilliant physicist in the 1950s, but when he like Professor Peterson left the comfort zone of their own academic discipline they both lost the respect of the community, the university and their peers.
      Here is a citation about the sorry and pathetic Dr. William Shockley, a brilliant mind gone terribly wrong., What a waste of talent.

      Giornalisti - That's a horrible example, Peterson has never discussed race other than to more or less say your race shouldn't be your primary defining element of who you are, and doesn't matter in the studies he's done. He is popular because he is able to articulate what many people are feeling, and he has studied the things he is discussing more than most, and I'd like to see them debate him.

    • @MultiJono86
      @MultiJono86 7 років тому +192

      Absolutely horrible example. Your thinking goes along the line of "X is bad, P subscribes to X, therefore P is bad. Also, N has some tiny fraction of commonality with P. Therefore, N is equal to P and bad too". Example of that would be: Tommy Douglas founded the NDP. Tommy Douglas wrote a masters thesis in support of eugenics. Therefore, the NDP supports eugenics. It doesnt stand to reason...at all...ever.

Class guilt is bullshit, the natural organic evolution of consciousness is the good profs problem. MARXISM is a red herring and has nothing to do with gender pronouns. Overblown projections of how the Canadian government will become genocidal and totalitarian are pure fiction. JP is full of shit and doing his best to justify his right to use the gender pronouns of his choice. "Consciously murderous"? • @RemyBeast
      @RemyBeast 7 років тому +164

      chefaopt Exactly that really seems like circular reasoning. So the left says, use my gender pronouns because I identify as a man in my gender even though science says I'm a woman but I want to be a man so call me that. Wait! Men and women are the same there are no real biological differences, but I want to identify with what I view as a social construct created by patriarchy! Even though it existed before patriarchy? I took gender studies!

      I think they are talking in terms of CONCEPTS. Like WHY does having a penis and XY chromosomes make one male? The universe didn't just come into existence with the idea intrinsically ingrained into it that, "Penis+XY Chromosomes=Male=Male=He/Him pronouns as an empirical fact. We had to conceptualize it.

    • @RemyBeast
      @RemyBeast 7 років тому +53

      littlebit080780 There are differences between men and women period in how they think, their interests, biologically, many things. The concepts come from the differences. Now has society sometimes blown those differences out of proportion? Yes sometimes it has. It doesn't make the concepts wrong though. I believe the concepts are a natural consequence of the differences. And the differences are a beautiful thing. Its what keeps the species going, your attraction to the differences...

My kids are in high school and the school reaches out to students over really stupid stuff, that kids need to learn to handle on their own. What happens when the student hears something from their boss or another employee that bothers them? Will they collapse into a sobbing heap? Safe spaces and counselors in the hallway is not only not helping these students, its actually harming them by teaching them they can't handle conflict, they're too weak-minded.

    One thing I want to add to what has been said about Dr. Peterson's passion, intellect and wisdom... notice how he predicates or punctuates his points with case studies, historical facts and personal examples. He is very specific when he associates names and events with his points, and even the ones that Joe suggests. This level of knowledge can't be replicated watching 10 sec clips on Facebook. The man has spent a lifetime reading journals, historical texts and studies. This is a feat that most of us (including myself) have neither the inclination or patience to do. Learn from those who have that capability and are willing to give us a glimpse of their brilliance.

      Agreed but they are only human as well. Peterson would probably be the first to admit his biases and ethnocentricity. For all of his experience he does tend to rely on certain western philosophers and seeking validation for one's thoughts is a common trait that even he can't be immune to.

I'm not one for hero worship, but Peterson is most certainly a huge influence on my thinking as of late. We need more individuals like Peterson speaking freely in the world: the opposing force is effectively advocating for spiritual disease and decay. We don't want to create our own Americans (or Canadian) version of Nazi Germany. It won't look anything like the swastika, but it will bear much of the same spiritual cancers.

      It's inflamed out of proportion.
      There aren't legions of lesbian and transsexual militias rounding up heteros.
      Its a college and liberal city thing.
      If you want something to be afraid of, be afraid of the vigilante mentality of right wingers and supposed patriots in reaction to the race-related rioting we had this year. People keep worrying about an authoritarian regime taking over, I say an Old West frontier justice is coming...and that the government will be afraid to solve problems.

      Mr. Man Bun to counter argue your point here (and to also point out why people like the OP are worried about the current trend of this country right now), there actually are large groups of left leaning organizations, going around currently, and rioting/burning businesses & harassing people.
      Call them Antifa/BLM or whatever you want - the fact is that these groups are LEFT leaning/ideological groups. They’re not right wing militias. They’re not Trump supporters.
      Yes, there are right wing groups that go out and counter protest or fight back on these groups.. but the right wing groups are not causing wide spread damage the way the left wing groups are (around 2 billion in damages so far).
      So many videos have come out in the past few months since the Floyd murder, that show these groups causing wide spread chaos. Videos of them going up to people just trying have dinner and screaming at them, telling them to raise their fists in the name of BLM or trashing the restaurants and forcing the customers to flee.
      These are not right wing groups.
      There has been constant rioting for over 3 months now in Portland; all in the name of BLM and defunding the police.
      I think the majority of it is antifa just using the BLM movement as an excuse to riot, but it’s not like BLM is doing anything to oppose it or stop it. In fact it’s the opposite, the head of BLM actually stated he won’t call for peace and for an end to the riots.
      I don’t understand how people such as yourself can deny this. Political views aside, this is just a fact and one that’s been well documented.

    How ironic that those that create the communist and Marxist “revolutions” are usually “usurped by deadly force” by someone in the movement who think they will serve as a better Marxist leader. So many cases of overthrowing of the overthrower for a more extreme version. This road leads to a brutal and terrible outcome. Peterson is our canary in the coal mine. It should be mandatory for all of us to learn of the past 125 years of ACTUAL history in Soviet Union, Germany, China and Cuba.

      @j c JP at one point in this interview was talking about income inequality and how it isn't bad for society.At a later point he was discussing about how men are frustrated about women because they can't find a partner.
      He claims that those who have a higher social status (athletes,rich ppl u name them) attract most of the female base and a large portion of men are disatisfied.
      This in JP's words damages the cohesion of our society.JR then tries to make a point step by step ,in each step JP agrees, about how the income inequality is the same thing to what JP proclaims about men frustration with women.
      Just when he is about to agree in that too,he says ''Hmmm that's a good question" or something like that.
      In my opinion he is a charlatan ,an opportunist who saw the frustration in society and tried to gain from it by disorientating young men from the real issues that should be dealt first.
      Is he articulate?No doubt he is .But he has such dogmatic views that are hard to chew for me ,and trust him as a real intellectual.

    Listening to the podcast, I remembered the time Jordan Peterson said at one stage that “You should act like you would wish someone to act when you’re taking care of them.” I stood there with a half finished cigarette, staring at it. Craving more wanting more than anything to take another draw. Then I stomped it out. I thought “What would I say to someone I cared about doing this?” And it hit me. I would be disappointed. I would be concerned. I’d want them to turn their life around and go out and do things. I’m saying to myself tonight that I will never smoke again. And it hurts to think about. But this man’s advice is on another level. It’s not the pampering that broader society teaches us now. It’s taking those necessary painful steps that you and only you can begin to make and commit yourself to that can give you control of the wheel. Most people reading this will probably pass it off as an unprovable anecdote that’s easy to dump online for attention, but this really hit me. I hope that someone reading this may be able to use this as a push of courage to do something similar in their lives and step outside of their comfort zone and do something genuinely hard. And to those who take this to heart and can relate, I send my heart out to you. Push on soldiers. Your life belongs to you, not your urges. Discipline leads to happiness and contentness within your life

The rest are mired in debt from school and are trying to get to the Philippines to teach English or some shit. The people who went into trades? They all make real money and have dependable work; because they can produce tangible results. Unless you're going to University for a medical or technical degree, save your money and don't waste 4 years.

      Bert Hubnip trotskyism (or more accurately bronshtein-ism) does not begin or end with foxkin.
      you must also consider that these ass holes have defeated free speech in america's largest city- the full violence of the state compels you to say, what they wish you to say, or you go to jail, and if you resist, you get shot. antifa thugs are quite literally not being pursued for violent assault while people who defend themselves are being arrested. police are issued stand down orders to let leftists use violence against anyone they disagree with, while anyone they disagree with can be arrested for talking. it seems like a big fat joke but you need to understand the history of trotskyism, its final goals, and its means to those ends, and its incredible scope and power from its very inception. this is not a laughing matter or something to be taken lightly, the pendulum of history is swinging wider and wider.

      Connor Nolan Do not confuse Bernie's socialist values of universal healthcare, not-for-profit prisons, free college, etc. with the horseshit of SJWs. They're apples and oranges. And BTW, socialism and Marxism are 2 completely different things. The US is a pervasively socialist country, where trillions of taxpayer dollars are handed out to banks, for-profit prisons, oil subsidies for the Koch's refineries, military contractors, for almost everything but to help the poor. Why? Because corporate lobbyists own politicians, to such an extent that America has turned into some kind of Marxist oligarchy, where the corporately owned judicial system incarcerates 25% of the world's prison population to create forced labor camps (ie gulags) to manufacture products for Starbucks, Victoria Secret, military contractors, etc... Who feeds, clothes, houses, provides healthcare for those prisoners? You do, for the enrichment of oligarchs.

    Joe Rogan deserves immense credit for providing Dr. Jordan B. Peterson with a proper platform for expressing his viewpoints, philosophy and inspirations for life. Peterson has been unfairly attacked and had his character maligned by left-wing extremists and their cohorts in the liberal, mainstream media. Peterson is not a racist or homophobic. He has a PhD in psychology and is a talented professor and clinical psychologist. He pushes himself to be a better human being and helps human beings around him become better and find meaning in their lives. What is wrong with that?
