16:27 that's a beautiful image👌🏽! Connects the Afro-Asaitic languages to Natufian ancestry which is indigenous Levantine Ancestry and connects it with E1b1b which links back to the other two as it's the most common Haplogroup amongst Afro-Asaitic speakers and was the Haplogroup that dominated the Natufians & Neolithic Levant. 🔥💯 I'd love to see if any other Haplogroup can produce that same pattern. I highly doubt it. Ive seen a couple maps for J-P58 it looks a lil similar but not a perfect fit and most of its expansion into Afro-Asaitic regions were way more recent and definitely not responsible for the spread of Afro-Asaitic languages or Natufian ancestry which predates them thousands of years, the Iberomaurusians prove this as they're like 63.5% Natufian related and carried no Haplogroup group J but were exclusively E1b1b. So J-P58 doesn't fit historically and can't have spread Afro-Asaitic languages and Natufian ancestry. It however did play a later role in the "expansion" of Semitic languages which they adopted as their own.
Either I'm not understanding or the image doesn't make sense. Southern Levant was seen at similar rates of distance with Moroccans, Algerians, etc, yet is shaded at 20-30% Natufian instead of 30-40% Natufian. Saudi_Najid is at similar rates to Yemenites and Negev_Bedouin, yet is a lighter shade. The Horn isn't even listed on the genetic distance chart, yet is shaded completely.
@@donmoez6289 Good question. Here's the deal. Horn of Africans preserve a large amount of Natufian Ancestry around the 30-50% range. However their ancestors mixed with people like Nilotics, Omotics and Indigenous East African groups who are not genetically that close to Natufians so they become more shifted. Whereas N.Africans who carry alot of Mediterranean farmer and others like you mentioned in the Levant who also have some Anatolian farmer and Mediterranean farmer and Cacausus Ancestry also preserve a certain amount however they've had way more admixture events that contributes to their Ancestry however in their case the groups their ancestors mixed with which I've mentioned above aren't as genetically distant from Natufians as for example early Mediterranean farmer and Anatolian farmers carry a basal Eurasian component that contributes to their Ancestry and Natufians. So even though someone from the Horn of Africa may retain a higher amount of Natufian ancestry it's the Subsaharan indigenous groups they mixed with who are more genetically distant that makes their overall Genetic distance larger. I.e two people with let's say 50% Natufian one mixed with a khoisan and another mixed with an Irish. The half Irish would be much closer despite them both sharing 50% Natufian. That's because Natufians are Basal Eurasian and genetically closer to Eurasians whom they branch off more recently from. Whilst basal Eurasians branches off from Subsaharan Africans a long time before that so the genetic distance is greater.
@@spartacus9008 Thanks for the breakdown. What dictates as 'Natufian ancestry' though? Especially in that picture. I've always assumed that the "descendents" of the Natufians were the Autosomal components Arabian, Levantine, North African, and Ethio/Somali. Basically, primarily the Arabs that come from all four autosomal branches. Is that not correct? 1. "A 2018 analysis of autosomal DNA, using modern populations as a reference, by Daniel Shriner in the journal Frontiers of Genetics, found that three Natufian samples consist of 61.2% Arabian, 21.2% Northern African, 10.9% Western Asian, and 6.8% Omotic-related ancestry (related to the modern Omotic-speaking groups of southern Ethiopia). The study also suggested that this Omotic component may be the source of Y-haplogroup E (particularly Y-haplogroup E-M215, also known as "E1b1b") among Natufians." 2. "In terms of autosomal DNA, these Natufians carried around predominantly to exclusively West-Eurasian ancestry, of which approximately 50% can be traced back to the hypothetical "Basal Eurasian" (BE) lineage, and 50% to an yet "Unknown Hunter Gatherer" (UHG) component. Natufians are placed within the West-Eurasian cluster, relative close to modern Arabs."
@@donmoez6289 We have the Natufian genomes and people create models using them. Or create for instance Gedmatch kits or G25 coordinates. So anyone that has taken a DNA test can go on to Gedmatch select certain calculators that workout your Natufian ancestry and similar process on G25. Scientists also use those genomes and model different populations using the Natufian component and that's how we get that map. But yes the Maghrebi component, Ethio-Somali component and Arabian component all have contributions from Natufians/Natufian-related groups. There's no human alive that's 100% Natufian. They're an ancient people and due to multiple migration events into their lands and also tjemy migrated into from others lands, they later all became very admixed. However the group's you've named still maintain a good junk of Natufian ancestry and speak AfroAsiatic languages and predominantly carry E1b1b.
@@spartacus9008 What primarily confused me was the Natufian Image depicting 'Natufian Ancestry', is it primarily a Y-DNA Chart or Autosomal Chart? It doesn't really specify, do you have the source? Also, this might be a really dumb question to you, if you don't mind me asking, but do J1-P58 and E1b1b share connections with each other? And what does having E1b1b as your Y-DNA mean? As well as J1-P58? What does it trace back to exactly? Thanks for answering my questions btw.
