"I had to kill Bob Morton because he made a mistake. Now it's time to erase that mistake."
Personally I grew up watching Robocop all the time! Kinda cool to see the filming places in real life!
BTW 13:24 - IK where we are at! We are near GTOger's Parking lot! XD I remember him showing that in his tour of his neighborhood! #DrumBeatsNation
Also 16:38, gotta love how For the Longest Time is running!
Glad you enjoyed our video! Robocop is an awesome movie for sure!! Thanks for stopping by our channel.
Your move creep😂
@@Our80sLife not a patch on the remake 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
You aren't seeing them in real life? You're still seeing them on screen. To see something 'in real life' you physically have to be there & see it.
finally someone covered the Robocop movies love it!!!
Thanks for watching! We're glad you enjoyed our video :)
Still one of my favourite films, the quality of the graphics for a film if it’s day is amazing
Agreed. It's fantastic!! Thanks for watching our video Shane!
@@Our80sLife Really enjoyed it, seeing a couple explaining everything also makes it better, I’ve seen a few single people doing similar videos but you 2 seem to have a brilliant connection ❤️
I think this is the best Robocop filming locations video I've seen so far.
Thank you so much! We’re glad you enjoyed our video! 😊
Great video. I used to live in Oklahoma City back in the 1980s when I was a kid, and every once in a while we would go to Dallas. I have no idea which building it was in Dallas, but in one of them I remember they had a life-size Robocop suit/model. It was pretty awesome, especially for a 7-year-old.
@11:26 "bitches leave"!!!
Was the iconic line I remember.
I was nine years old when I watched the movie for the first time🤣
"Hey man, whatcha reading in there...ahhh ha ha ha...you a college boy or something?" Love that line
I’d buy that for a dollar!
😁🤣😩
Moved to Dallas in 84 after college, spent a ton of time then in the downtown area. Saw Robocop right when it came out of course, and knew right away all the various filming locations. Very distinctive exterior shots for sure.
Good eye! We read that Dallas was chosen because it had several buildings with a futuristic look. Dallas City Hall is especially distinctive! Thanks for watching our video Neil!
Wow, awesome video. Now I'm going to have to watch Robocop tonight and see all these places. I grew up in the Dallas area and never knew it was filmed here until I was much older.
Cool, thank you!! Same here - grew up in Dallas and had no clue it was filmed there, ha!
@@Our80sLife I watched the movie last night and wanted to ask if you knew what roads or highways Robocop was driving on when he was "patrolling the city."
RoboCop is an awesome movie, but they did make a few filming mistakes during its production. Here's a link to our video of the funniest mistakes in Robocop: ua-cam.com/video/_VYI2w34oXw/v-deo.html
i know I'm kind of off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream new tv shows online?
@Jayceon Judson i watch on Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Merrick Christian Definitely, have been watching on flixzone for since april myself :)
@Merrick Christian Thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I really appreciate it !!
@Jayceon Judson happy to help =)
This was fascinating! Robocop is one of my favourite movies but living outside of US I had no idea it was all in Texas. Amazing what a good story can distract you from!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! Fun Fact: Robocop II was actually filmed in Houston, Texas. We'll be visiting there later this year and making a video of those filming locations as well. Stay tuned!!
I used to dance at the Starck every weekend. Omg….that club was CRAZY!
This is one of my absolute favorite filming location videos on UA-cam! I keep returning to it!
That's such a thoughtful comment, thank you!! We're glad you like this video. It's one of our favorites too! Stay tuned because we're planning trips to visit the filming locations for RoboCop 2 & 3!
She's adorable. You guys are fun to watch. Keep those smiles shining
That's such a nice comment, thank you!!
I live in Dallas and drive down the chase scene road all the time had no clue, how interesting. :D
Someone give this man a Oscar for holding that fake smile for so long. Cheers buddy.
Thanks Bro...
LOL
Watched this movie when I was 8 years old back in Mexico. It never crossed my mind that I would end up living in Delta City!
Cool video guys! Thanks
Thanks Edgar!
This has always been my favourite film. I was obsessed with it, growing up. This is the most comprehensive location video I've seen on this film so thank you for taking the time to make it!
Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed our video 😊
Wow. It's amazing how little has changed since then. Would have loved to see the steel mill "then and now"! Awesome throwback!
Thanks! Unfortunately the steel mill has been torn down, but it was located in Pennsylvania (the only filming location that wasn't in Dallas.)
@@Our80sLife Murphys death scene was filmed in a warehouse at long beach, california I believe.
Robocop iconic 80s movie
Brilliant researched and delightfully presented. Love this movie! You guys really brightened my day.
Aww, thank you so much for that nice comment. We're glad you enjoyed watching our video. It was fun to make!
I met Peter Weller back in 2012 when he came to a show with Gabourey Sidibe. I was working the front door, and he comes in and says “I’m Peter Weller, I’m here with the Gabourey Sidibe group”. Y’all, I nearly about had a CONNIPTION. My childhood hero was standing right in front of me. It was so surreal, but he’s really just the nicest guy.
Also, Dallas Native here, so I always love these videos. Went to a show a few years back at Sons of Hermann and was geeking out the whole time because of the RoboCop history. Also, another fun fact: IM Pei was the one that designed Dallas City Hall. He also designed the rock and roll hall of fame building!
Very cool! Thanks for stopping by our channel and sharing your memories Josh! That's amazing that you got to meet Peter Weller, wow!! And we still haven't gotten a chance to step inside Sons of Hermann hall or The Bomb Factory (which I think is trying to change their name to The Factory?!) Anyway, those places are on our list to try and see shows if the opportunity avails itself whenever we're in town. I'm a Dallas native as well, but we've been living in Wichita, Kansas for nearly 20 years, so we only get to visit the DFW area occasionally. Have a great weekend :)
I’ve been around many of these places and never connected them with RoboCop. Interesting! Thanks!
Me too, until we did the research for this video! Dallas is my hometown, and I didn't even realize it was filmed there. We love hunting down filming locations! Thanks for stopping by our channel Randall :)
I watched this movie last night, and came here to check out the locations as I watched the movie! Thanks guys!
Awesome!! Hope you enjoyed it! We love RoboCop (and the second movie is also great, which was filmed in Houston.)
Over 30 years I thought this iconic movie was filmed in Detroit.
Thanks for taking the time out and showing us these locations.
I know, right?! Gotta love that movie magic! Thanks for stopping by our channel :)
0:21 That's my favorite city hall in the whole world, I just love the design of it!!! Robocop is a awesome 80's film. You guys did a great job filming the locations!!
Thanks Rachard! It is truly a unique building. Glad you enjoyed our video 😊
You guys rock! I watch a lot of movie location videos and have never seen one on Robocop much less with all the details! Such a classic movie from my childhood. To see the real locations blow my mind. Thank you for the time and effort both of you put in to this video!
Wow, thanks Cameron!! We appreciate your thoughtful comment. Glad you enjoyed our video!
Wow Thank you guys for this. Robocop was one of my All-time favorite movies. i saw it in theaters when i was 7yrs old.
Awesome!! Thanks for watching our video :)
The BEST part about this video is seeing the two of you actually enjoying EACH OTHER'S COMPANY!!! THAT'S what REAL LOVE IS!!! Congratulations to you BOTH!!!
Aww, thanks Sean! We do have fun together! When we filmed this video back in August, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary with a trip to Dallas! 💖
@@Our80sLife Wow, that's AWESOME!!! For MOST of life I've PRAYED that I would find a beautiful woman that I loved and who loved me equally that was also my best friend! I'm glad to see that it IS "possible"!!!
No clue it was filmed in Dallas TX, wow, this was fun, all the different spots, now & then.
This was so thorough thank you! I love Robocop and knew already several parts, ocp facade, etc were in filmed in Dallas. But until now I had no idea that SO much of it was there and not even a film set/sound stage, just houses, business, etc. That's so cool, Thank you for making this!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching :)
This is really cool! I thought it was really Detroit!
Movie Magic... gotcha! Thanks for watching our video :)
Thank you for making this. I just came across it. I just recently moved to Northern Texas and was stoked to see all the locations of one of my favorite childhood movies. I had actually made a video from church Road of the condos and was going to do more locations but you guys did a much better job than I could’ve done.
You're welcome, thanks Orlando! We're glad you enjoyed our video. We also made a video of RoboCop 2, which was filmed in Houston.
This is some solid and great work here, and very insightful as well. The level of details is terrific. I used to watch Rococop so many times, it was a movie way ahead its time. I'm eager to watch the Robocop 2 video !
Thanks so much! These videos are definitely a labor of love, so we appreciate your kind words. All the best, Keith & Abby :)
That was well put together. Well done.
Thanks so much John!!
Im scared of heights..
My hands and feet were sweating quite a bit watching your trip up the escalator !
Great video guys, well done! Classic movie from the 80's. Grew up watching it. Greetings from Brazil.

Great Job on Robocop filming locations...One of my favorite movies

Thank you!!
Robocop is my childhood hero, loved the movies. Thank you for the video, that was awesome!
Thanks Jan!
Robocop is in my top ten of greatest movies I've watched of all time!.. It's great to see some of the buildings and locations that were used in the making of the film!.. Even moreso seeing you two looking so stoked at finding them and showing how passionate you are about the film!!.. Love it!! 😁 👍
Aww, thank you!! We're so glad you enjoyed our video. It was lots of fun to make. Finding some of those locations was like a scavenger hunt, ha!
Gosh, Dallas created such a wonderful backdrop for this movie. Really cool to see then and now of these places.
Totally agree, thanks for watching!!
love you guys! Keep up your good work, subscribed!
Thanks Jonathan!!
Every day when I would arrive from kinder I would watch RoboCop. Thanks 👍 you for this scenes
Great video! I started watching it thinking I would know all the locations. But you guys taught me some new ones. Keep up the great work!
Awesome! Thanks Jose!
This guy looks like a mix between Dolph Lundgren & Ed O’Neill lol. Love the video guys🙏
LOL!! We get the Dolph Lundgren comment often, but you're the first one to suggest Ed O'Neill, ha ha! Thanks for watching!
I love watching filming locations videos, and I love to see your enthusiasm. The original Robocop is one of my most important movies. Thanks! Btw nice background music.
Awesome!! Thanks so much! Finding filming locations can be tricky, but as you can tell we really enjoy it. 😃
Greetings from Scotland. What a seriously cool channel you guys have.Loved seeing all the robocop locations i really need to watch it again :) Have subbed as i seen you have loads of other videos i plan on checking out.
Awesome! Thank you, and welcome to the party :)
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tour. I found your video after noticing once again how they drive away from and towards Reunion Tower. I wanted to see anyone else acknowledged that.
Thanks for watching our video Mark! We thought it was pretty hilarious how they were driving back and forth during that chase scene! 😂
Brilliant video. You guys are great.
Thanks Andrew! 😊
Absolutely amazing. Thank you both for your time in making this video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Wayne :)
@@Our80sLife Hey, yes indeed. Your videos (So far) are absolutely amazing, I feel as if I’m there with you both. So far my favourite has to be the 80s video. I want to go back in time. Seriously, the 80s were the best experiences of my life. Thank you both once again, your time and effort putting this together hasn’t gone unnoticed. Wishing you both a magical day 🙏🏻
Loved watching this. I'm from the UK and this was always my favourite film. Quite often used to play it over and over again before grabbing my bike to go to secondary school in the morning. Always wanted to see the locations but just a little too expensive for me to travel to Dallas. Keep smiling you two, absolutely beautiful.
Thanks so much Mark, glad you enjoyed it! We appreciate your nice comment. All the best, Abby & Keith :)
Omg just discovered you guys this is awesome. Thanks so much for starting up your channel
Thanks for watching, and welcome to the party!! 80's rule!!!
Hi guys, thank you so much for this video. It took a lotta time to go to all those filming locations. Much appreciated. Be well.
Thank you!! We're glad you enjoyed our video!
Love your video's, thanks for the tour and 80s memories, watching from South Africa!
Awesome!! Thanks Sandra! I think you're our first viewer from South Africa. Welcome to the party :)
Been a favourite movie of mine since childhood. Wow this video was excellent. Thanks for putting in the effort to make it. I loved it.
Awesome!! Thanks for watching, and we're glad you enjoyed it!
I loved Robocop & I’m happy you guys made this video!!!
Thanks for watching!
I've seen Robo maybe 100 times over the years, it's such a fun satirical action film, and I really appreciate this video. Great presentation very well done. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!
This was awesome
Aww, thanks so much! 🥰
What an awesome job guys!! Classic 80s... I’ve been to Austin, San Antonio and Houston. I’ve wanted to visit Dallas for years now. We really liked San Antonio. You have a really cool channel here!
Hey there Nick! Thanks for stopping by our channel! Dallas is actually our hometown, but we now live in Kansas. We still love Dallas though, hope you get to visit there some time. It's a great city! What's funny is that RoboCop was being filmed when I was a teenager living there, and I had no clue!!
@@Our80sLife haha
thoroughly enjoyed this!
Thanks so much Nick!
Great video! You are one of the best 80's channels on UA-cam.
Wow, thanks!
great video you guys!!
Thank you!
Awesome video guys, well done! 👍
Thanks so much!
Amazing! Both of you detailing all these scenes out, a trained eye is everything even when a piece of the movie is now gone! Also, can you share who's song that is at the beginning of your video after it shows "loading" Awesome work!
Thank you so much! 😀We're glad you enjoyed our video. Our intro song is called Alienated by ELFL.
Awesome work 😀👍
Thanks 😁
Excellent video! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
Wow great video, I live in the Dallas area and have been to a few of these locations. I love Robocop and will have to go explore some of these locations again. Thanks for the great video!!!
Cool, thanks! I'm originally from Dallas (but now we live in Kansas) so when we were watching RoboCop I was like... I totally recognize some of those places! That gave us the idea to make this video on a trip there. Glad you enjoyed it!
Robocop, a history ever made in the year 1987.
thanks for sharing this all! its really a pleasure to see the places where Robocop/Alex murphy roamed once.......
Although far away in China, I still watched this movie when I was 10 years old, which laid the foundation for my evaluation of all future movies. This is a sad movie about death and rebirth and self-recovery.
Cool! Thanks for watching our video and sharing your memories!
Excellent video! Thank you for all the effort you put into it.
Thanks Jamie! Glad you enjoyed our video :)
Great video.
Awesome that you found so many locations, especially the interiors of Bob Morton's and Murphy's houses.
One of the best Robocop location vids I've watxhed.
Well done guys.
Peter 🇬🇧
Thanks so much Peter! Greetings and well wishes from across the pond! 🇺🇸
@@Our80sLife I can’t find any info on the actual house used for Murphy’s condo interior. Could you please share?
@@sergioc404 9028 Vista Creek Dr.
I never noticed these locations in robocop until I've been to downtown a few times and rewatched the movie.
This video gave me so many jaw drops! I e never enjoyed a movie location video this much before. I’m definitely going to have to take a trip to Dallas after covid is over!
That's such a nice comment, thanks Daniel! We're glad you enjoyed our video! Hope you get to travel to Dallas some time.
Great video guys. Really in depth look at the filming locations. Awesome 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Justin :)
Thanks for showing Esquire paint pallet! Miss it in Dallas
Awesome video. Just Joined your Channel looking forward to more videos 😀👍
Welcome aboard! Thanks Joe :)
Born and raised in the DFW, I never realized it was filmed in Dallas. NOICE!
Great Video !! Congratulations !!
Thank you!
Quite a few locations here that nobody else shows in their locations videos. Awesome, really enjoyed😎🏴
Thank you!! Some of those places were tough to track down, but it was a fun project for us. Thanks for stopping by our channel!
Very cool work! Love it! Have seen the movie dozens of times 😀 Just wondering though, I believe the steel plant where quite some scenes were filmed is gone? I really liked that setting as well!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed our video. Yes, the steel mill is gone. It was the only location from the movie that was located in Pennsylvania, but we've been told it was abandoned at the time and has been gone for many years since. Anyway, thanks for stopping by our channel!
Duquesne Steel Works was located in Duquesne, just outside Pittsburgh. It was closed in 1984 and only a historial marker (shown on Google maps) now remains.
So cool to see the filming places in real life love pic of now & then great job editing guys enjoyed watching in full Thumbs up have a beautiful day
Thank you so much 🤗
Hello from Ireland and thank you guys so so much for this, one of my all time favourite movies. The first VHS Tape I ever had 😉❤️🙌🏻
Hello!! Thanks for watching our video. Glad you enjoyed it!
Very well done thank you! They used so much of Dallas's locations!
Thanks Marco! Yes, we were pleasantly surprised at how many locations they used in Dallas. I think the steel mill is the only location they used that's not there.
marco -- yes i read that detroit had the run down locations that they needed to show in the movie but not the futuristic looking skyscrapers and other buildings so they chose dallas which had both. thanks , the batman.
This was brilliant thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
That is pretty awesome! Thanks for the video. Stay safe, guys.
Thanks, you too!
This was so awesome thank you guys
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed our video!!
Robocop was a awesome movie from the 80s my era, it was ahead of it's time, that remake was horrible stay to the original and classic's.
Thank you ever so much for the before and now pictures...much appreciated ❤
I'm amazed on how they done and exterior shot of the condo and then a interior short of a totally different place altogether... that just didn't make any sense why they did it.
P.s you both make a great team...
Looking forward to the next video.
Pete from UK 🇬🇧
Thanks so much Pete! We're glad you enjoyed our video. We also really enjoy seeing Before & After pictures... it's so interesting how quickly places can change over time! In September, we traveled to Houston to find the locations for RoboCop 2. Here's a link to that video, in case you missed it: ua-cam.com/video/0GejWY3B0WM/v-deo.html
Thank you guys for this!!
We had a blast making this video, glad you enjoyed it!!
So happy I found this. Great work. I’m heading to Dallas tomorrow.
Awesome, thanks!! Have fun in the Big D! 😃
@@Our80sLife I will now!
Great video, thank you!
Yep I saw Elastica back in 95 at the Bomb Factory. The cocaine room lol. Great place.
Brilliant video guys 😎👍
Thank you!!
This is awesome. Also something I normally expect from longtime hardcore fans of a film, not from people who literally just watched it for the first time. You must have really enjoyed it a lot to go to the trouble of doing the research and setting up this tour. :) Really cool. I enjoyed that. :D
Thank you so much!! We had planned a trip to Dallas and thought we might as well check out these places. In the process, we have become big fans of RoboCop!! We had to watch the movie a few more times to do the research, and it turns out to be one of those movies that gets better the more times you watch it. Glad you enjoyed our video! :)
@@Our80sLife It really is! I must have seen it about 100 times at least since I was a kid (yeah, 80s kids watched violent films :D ) and it's so enjoyable everytime. My ONLY complaint is with ONE special effect. Not the ED-209 (I love quality stop motion work) but it's the weirdly long arms of Dick Jones when he plummets at the end. That's the ONE bit I wish they'd have fixed up in the various versions they've released over the years. But eh whatever. Rest of the effects hold up well and as you mention in your reaction video to it, the make up of RoboCop when he takes the helmet off is excellent. You can see his skin stretched over the metal. Despite what some people think, it's supposed to be that his facial skin is overlaid onto a robotic skull... shooting him in the face won't kill him. And it was done by OCP to try help him adjust, cos if you woke up, looked in the mirror and saw a robot skull looking back you'd probably have a nervous breakdown or heart attack. There's a beautiful lil scene in RoboCop 2 where he does come face to face with his wife and she remarks that the face feels cold. Peter Weller plays the part of Murphy/RoboCop so well. :) Anyways I'll stop being a nerd now. Hope your weekend been awesome. Stay safe and well. :)
Awesome video! Dallas is home sweet home for me! Also where I heard they filmed problems child the first film but robocop is celebrated quite a bit here! 👍
Hi Justin! Dallas is my hometown, but now we live in Wichita, Kansas. We miss Dallas though, and we visit whenever we get an opportunity. I can't believe I didn't know RoboCop was filmed there until recently. We were REALLY late to that party... better late than never! We had so much fun tracking down all these filming locations. Glad you enjoyed the video! We'd like to make one about Problem Child as well, but we need the state fair to open back up to really do it justice. Hopefully next year, sigh.
