Great video, guys. I like the banter! I've ridden those passes many times, since they're very local to where I live. Having just come back from an extended trip across Europe which included the Umbrail and Stelvio passes on my Yamaha XVS650 I don't think I'll ever look at the Hardknott Pass in the same way again! ua-cam.com/video/mb-wtIvBJ-0/v-deo.html
This is a really great video Scotty. And the best part is, so far in watching as I type this I am only half way through the video, NO MUSIC to screw up the video. Any time I watch these types of videos so many of them anymore have the stupid music and that causes me to stop watching and move on to a motorcycle or scooter ride video where all the sounds that were happening at the time I get to hear those to and give me more of a feeling of riding along with you. I look forward to watching more vids like this!!😁
Good job you didn't take your caravan. Etiquette: You should Give Way to those Coming Up the Hill. I've been with some friends, two couples, pillons, I'd raced up to the fort, after waiting some time I went back down to see where they were; they'd both fallen off slowly on one of the hairpins, After much Fannying around and deep gentle breathing we all got back safely. Some years earlier I watched with my father a group of police riders, late 70's on BMW'S. They one by one almost in slow motion fell off on a hairpin in a graceful, to some perhaps, almost balletic choreograped "Dance of the Dumping" they were fine BTW. Glad you both got back safe and have many years of gentle chiding, banter and tale telling ;-)
I've done both on an NC30, 1200 Bandit, and an FZS1000, as well as in a Hilux Surf. All good fun, but it pays dividends to study the bends as you approach, look ahead for oncoming traffic, and not to worry about dropping the bike, if you tense up it makes things much worse. Just stay relaxed, and keep looking ahead, not at the ground.
Great little video…🤗 loved the giggling, but gutted for the drop 😢… wondered would the pillion foot peg have swapped over to replace the broken one?? Can I also be cheeky and ask how your dash cam is holding up… many thanks! 😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My dash cam has died unfortunately.... There is nowhere to store the main unit, so I squeezed it under the seat but it's been bashed a lot and now stopped working 🤦🏻
Gutted for your brother! So annoying when people don’t know to give way to those going up hill. Hopefully it was just cosmetic damage! It would be boring if it was easy 😂 Great video 👍🏼
A proper adventure 👍😅. I do Wrynose and Hardnot on every bike I've owned, but, never in the wet. Let's face it, the views are a lot better on a clear sunny day 😎. I bet your brother is looking for a bike with traction control for his next purchase? At the moment I'm on a BMW R1250RS and, even in the dry I have it on rain mode, max traction control and, the softest throttle, it's a doddle 🤞. I hope your brother was ok after the offs.
Those NT700's are nice for what they are but they are horrible to balance at a standstill. I had a silver one up until about a year ago and sold it because it was hard to manage in tricky spots like that. I can't imagine trying to had one on those road surfaces. Glad He's ok.
@@honkerman74 He's okay and the bike too.... I have to agree, I had a go on it and was surprised at the weight and it felt taller than my old V-Strom. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
He sure is. He will soon have a bike that makes me jealous 🤣 He was fine after... 👍🏻 And we changed over the pillion peg to the front when we got back to mine 👍🏻 Thanks for watching
Welcome to the club 🙌We came from Eskdale, and I had a 'pillow fall' in the last turn before the top. You probably can still see my scapes on the tarmac 😁 Keep riding and smiling! Diana
One of the hardest things about the Hardknott is the other traffic and the amount of it. Anything that breaks your momentum can have you off. Cyclists riding two abreast at zero mph or just stopping on one of those killer climbing hairpins was my nightmare. Just got round but two behind me did not and I could not stop..... which doubly pisses me off. Like many I did it to say I had but gorgeous though it is I will not be bothering again.
Let me get this out there first. I much prefer electric motorbikes. That said and done, I really enjoyed this video. The views are always beautiful over there and the joy in your voices is top notch 😁 Keep them coming
I knew when i saw that Deauville in the beginning that you would drop it twice in a row. I think it was featured on either Moto Stars or Moto Madness. Everybody in the comments there agreed: your legs are too short for that bike, get a super cub or Monkey.😂
tough one that. kept leaning it over to keep his foot on the ground, should've powered out of the camber! When it's bad like that I will keep right foot down and just use the clutch and front brake, but my bikes are torquey.
@@GermanJobbies Yeah... If you stop at just the wrong spot like that... It's very difficult.... I had the luck my bike is low so no real issue. But if I was on my brother's bike it would have happened to myself most likely. Still he composed himself and got on with the rest of our outing 😁👍🏻
Stunning scenery nice one mate 👍
Just take care and it’s no prob

A great fun road on the right bike.

29:09 the whole road looks like it's in serious need of A complete resurface 😉
Definitely along with most of the UK 🤣👍🏻
they will patch only as they try to keep the traffic off the passes the big SUV's are causing most damage as they are wider than the roads.
