While we were in Seattle, WA, we visited the Museum of Pop Culture, known locally as “MoPop”! Everything I heard about this museum was positive and I confirmed every bit of it. In this video, we highlight three of our favorite exhibit areas.
The museum’s Nirvana experience offers a one of a kind view of the band, the members, and its history. There are hundreds of photos, hand written letters, demo tapes, instruments, pieces of clothing, set lists… it’s almost overwhelming how much stuff they have on display. As a massive Nirvana fan, I “geeked out” pretty hard 🤩
Disney had a temporary display that showcased the costumes and clothing worn in its various live action movies. Everything from Cinderella, to Captain Jack Sparrow, to Mary Poppins was on display. We were so lucky to be there during this limited time display!
Leah isn’t a fan of horror movies, but Joe and the kids are, so it was fun to wander through the exhibit on horror history. There were numerous costumes and pieces of horror movie & TV history. This is was a creepy, but incredible display!
There is more to MoPop than just these three areas. Science fiction, fantasy, indie music, video games, theaters… it goes on and on. It is a massive museum with dozens of different areas of Pop Culture to explore. If you’re in Seattle you HAVE TO take time to visit!
