The low carb is in comparison lower carb, with patented extra removal slow steamed rice cooker... love how you can see the results... leaves room for the rice to leave behind the cooked rice starch, not just the washed off enitial... looks great. Toshiba makes a quality unit 🍷🍸🎩

@@Dinkum_Aussie According to Toshiba, when you put the second pot in and put it on the low carb setting the cooker senses when the digestible starches seap into the water and sucks it into a basket underneath. So there is plausible science behind it.

I've been eating sushi since i was 3 years old. Im 20 now, and have seen sushi chef's from all over Denmark. Both Danish, French, American, English, and of course Japanese chef's. I've seen their magic, and i've seen impressive pieces, and impressive work. And tasted sushi that easily beats all foods i've tried. I've eaten sushi at a place for 2000 DKK (2K to eat all you ant, usually its 180 DKK). And that asnt just th best food i've ever tried. It was the best chef's i've ever seen. And i've even made sushi myself many times. And yeah, this guy is seriously impressive. Trust me hn i say, this guy could be one of the chef's at the 2000 DKK place, and he'd probably be underpaid. He is that good. Just simple casual work like this is what i'd be struggling with for hours. And he makes it look super easy. And of course this is simple stuff, but trust me, this guy is seriously good. And creative too. I wish i could be your camera man my guy. All payment i'd need would be your masterpieces. Keep on the great work.
Also, i think i'll stick to normal rice. I can tell Hiro will too lol.

Brian Stout The starch he is referring to is the light flour that gets rinsed out of rice when you wash it. When left in the rice has a different flavor/ texture that is usually less desirable depending on the dish. Might not be low carb per say but the method still has a utility.

Stop stirring the rice. Only stir it little right before water boils then turn heat down put lid on and let it cook without ANY stirring. Then let it rest after cooking and your rice shouldn't stick to the pot, it'll want to stick to everything else though like your hands and cutlery.

Its an old ancient way of cooking rice. You boil till the rice open up then you put the rice in a bamboo basket to steam with the balance water to dry. The rice will come out separate & not clump up.
So in your normal rice cooker you place the metal plate with hole (which comes with the rice cooker) in the bottom of the pot & scoop up the rice & press button to steam it with the balance water. No clump up.rice.

Traditionally before the advent of electric rice cookers, rice is cooked, strained when nearly cooked, and let simmer to completion which allows for the removal of nearly all starchiness. New rice and most Asian rice tend to have high starch and carb contents except Indian Basmati. There is always Texas long grain rice that's always low starch, fluffy, and cheap though hardened when cold. This rice cooker looks more like a steamer than a cooker.
