I find that European journalists focus only on the music, lyrics and inspiration. British journalists ask things like ‘what biscuit would you describe yourself as?’
Few things: 1 - Good interviewer 2 - sweet guys with a non-repulsive attitude 3 - well-articulate, patient and genuine answers, they literally said the bar was too low to explain their success hasdfhsdf 4 - love how Lias checks on others when he realises he's taking too much space. worth following these lads till the end
I'm relatively new to the band but find everything they have done - FWF, Insecure Men and Moonlandingz - wonderful. Can just keep the mesmerising music on repeat and absorb the commentary and humour in the lyrics. Punk ethos, allied to real melodies that take root and a craftsmanship that surpasses anything that sounds, contrived or mechanical. Real songwriters, with something to say but somehow the end product sounds flexible and free.
Enjoyable interview - they all give themselves time - interviewer is patient and asks good questions, some good thoughtful answers especially from guy on the right who comes across as really articulate (Lias?). The accent is really hard to place - bit northern sometimes, black British too? Middle guy, love the teeth! And the shared vaping is good entertainment. Never heard any music from them - I kind of imagine the interview might be better quality than the music maybe.
Watch “touch the leather” video. Accent of Lias and Nathan is combination of growing up in Scotland, Belfast(during the troubles), and Huddersfield, their father is from Algeria. Nathan sounds more Irish. Saul grew up in Brixton.
Please excuse my ignorance, but as a non-smoker i find it really hard to understand the rules of passing around the e-cig and who it belongs to originally. Would anyone care to clarify? Also, great job, interviewer, if i were you and have these men blankly stare at me like that i would piss my pants. Ok bye
6:10 -ish - I assume this lack of risk taking and boldness of attitude is largely a consequence of social media, and the fact that the internet has made everything much more visible. Everything is filmed, rumours are tweeted. When I was doing this crap 30 years ago, you could say and do almost anything. Not that we did - because we had some semblance of a social conscience. But fuck me, I would've hated the level of immediate and close scrutiny that digital media makes possible. My guess is that it's created timidity and conformity, as Lias implies.
@@daviedovey I think Saul is a mesmerising talent and FWF are the best thing to come out of this boring country for a very long time. I dont personally know Saul but I think he is very mis-understood because it's easy to dismiss him as a junkie. God bless him
Their lead singer is a hater. I bet if I tell him what country I come from he would stab me. Although their last album is excellent, I’m having a hard time with their political hate, play for the people! not their governments!
connor easy to say when you’re not the one being decided for. I didn’t vote for these policies (quite the opposite) and still I’d be influenced by stupid politicians’ actions, and to top that now the artists do the same. As I said before, play for the people who love your music, not their governments.
Joseph Perks They go to the local producers , or are u talking about paying taxes to IRS? it still doesn’t go to the pockets of the prime minister and all the assholes around him

instablaster

No, they are a fantastic band watch Glastonbury 2015 to start with!

The best band in Britain by a mile
...right behind Insecure Men.
Absolutely... best band we've had in quite some time!
You are not wrong
Still are in 2024
I found these guys in a bin. Let’s make a band.

i didn’t even notice lias vaping until about five minutes in and then i had to pause the video to just laugh for a minute straight
i thought someone was drinking with a straw and then i saw the cloud
Pplpv nordrd
the funniest part is when saul decides to try it and can't get it working
Lias kinda looks like a young De Niro here.
5:26 spot-on assessment of the current state of the arts
exactly what I was thinking
Nice one guys , !!!!! Really liked your last Dublin show !!!!
Best British band of the moment!!
19:19 Saul has checked out of the conversation
Interviewer: I see the.. the misery of progress
Saul, glassy eyed: Well thank you..
Serfs up has got to win an award.
nat looks like the toddler that saul and lias dragged along while they have an adult conversation
Something cringe about brothers in bands.
5:31 saul eats fly?
Simon Firth 21:48 he tucks in to moth
The only band in the Uk to have the balls to say how it is & also fine musicians to 😎
The Pistols had more balls tho
Cuz they said how it was but the Establishment actually listened
Brilliant interview :D Cracking band
Did somebody say crack
Algerian Edward Scissorhands
Saul Lugosi
Saul had a toothbrush in his pocket
Because of his gap tooth
@@noann9876 Hola xD
Interviewer being Dutch, by any chance?

Thanks for pointing this out! my brain appeared to have malfunctioned ;)
Damn Saul does have crazy eyes
What do Moon Landings and HQ Man refer to? More music/bands?
Moonlandingz is another Band where Lias is in. You should check them out, fantastic music as well!
@@Berlinerundso Sweet, thanks!

vape'n'roll - I want a toke
Saul smokes that vape like it's the last crack pipe he will ever be able to have
Mattie Mclean poor Saul, I had a dream about him last night where he was saying that he’s been ‘discriminated against’
@@daviedovey I think Saul is a mesmerising talent and FWF are the best thing to come out of this boring country for a very long time. I dont personally know Saul but I think he is very mis-understood because it's easy to dismiss him as a junkie. God bless him
Mattie Mclean I met his brother at an Insecure Men gig and he was very a very pleasant fellow.
Chain Vaping Familly
Who the fk's Ethan?
Nathan?
Saul's so posh
A A yeah real working class people are right wing like Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson
Gotcha! 5:10
They all think they are Kurt Cobain 🤣
Great live band, but so boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring on record!
You must have a shit system

They have a right to not play in a country if they disagree with that country's policies and feel that playing there would endorse them. Not 'hate'
Lol wut
