Ya, I wasn't sure if I should bother with this remake. I'm really busy these days, so I can't get sucked into big games these days. Maybe I'll check it out when it's on sale.
I tend to have similar views on this game. But I have a difference of opinion on the Fatigue mechanic. I kinda liked how it limited your exploration. I felt it was a kind of time management strategy. But that's just me.

Wow, I didn't know. My first time playing was the female protagonist, had no idea. I thought it was cliche happy ending 😢 couldn't finish the whole video. Now Im excited for The Answer DLC. Funny thing is I platinumed this game lol

Talking about the beach scene. If that character would have been Kashiwagi from P4 I think that would have been a perfect change.

You must be the hardest working UA-camr, Erick. That deserves respect, dude! But I don't agree that Chrono Cross is a better rpg than the first one of the two, Chrono Trigger.

A guide, not necessarily but making the perfect choices in hangouts, yes. You aren't so pressed for time that you need to look up exactly who to hang out with and micro manage social stats everyday but you should still have the least blocks in a relationship as you can. Just save before the hang outs so you can reload to keep trying for all the best choices. Also always have same Arcana Persona on hand.
I only missed maxing it all by TWO days which I am furious about. Lol

I am playing P4 Golden again now, using a Guide to Max every social link, and the experience is not the same

is it just me, or did the people who did this remake give all the girls the Tifa Lockhart syndrome? Both in the sprites and the dialogue box pictures
I'm sorry but not gonna lie it was the previous voices that made me not like P3 that much when I played it for the first time years ago. It's not that they were bad but most of them felt like they were severely holding back in emotion most of the time and it kinda made most moments feel hella lukewarm.
Yeah, I like the Japanese dub better when it comes to P3 in general, especially after having watched the movies.

a bit of a ramble to be honest
Mostly love the game but hate the fusion changes and the new mini party storyline system.
Fusion is the most important gameplay aspect of the franchise. Removing triangle fusion fucks with player creativity and depth so much. Huge disdain for that change. Another thing to add to this are the Lovers and Sun cards. As they benefit fusion, it effectively gatekeeps when you should be fusing, once again curbing creativity. Sun is near the end so it's not too terrible but I loathed micro managing my Tartarus runs and shuffle time around getting the Lovers card. Yet another thing to add, duplicating skill cards not taking up your day is so broken, further diminishing fusion value and creativity as you can so easily give additional power with skill cards. Really dislike how they've went about all that.
As for the second thing, I am not referring to the smiley events that give Theurgy bonuses. Those are fine. I am referring to the exclamation mark stories that you have to waste several days for earning awful rewards like a heal 100 item or +3 stat. The worst part though? There being a Persona locked at the end of them. All those shitty rewards you have to go through and days wasted to unlock new Persona which *are* important rewards. I am furious that I missed maxing every S. Link by TWO days because I needed to unlock Byakko for Kohryu.
Besides these complaints, some scenes felt less impactful while others felt more impactful so can't really complain. Still great game but god I hate the change and additions I mentioned above. At least Tartarus' layout is leagues better rather than the original recoloring the same floors for the entire game.
