Thank you so much for posting. Jack is a special man. Lennon did not believe in coincidences. Running into Jack at the health food store a year before Double Fantasy was enough to convince John he was the right man for the job.
I just discovered this post ! Thank you for sharing these precious memories. I would have died to get a ticket to see him.live in concert. I saw George Harrison Dark Horse tour in San Francisco , completely in awe ! Thanks again for sharing..facts i never knew.
John's songs on Double Fantasy were great, he was totally back and he was working on Milk and Honey and planning World Tour 1981....it would have been amazing, and Beatles reunion at Ringo's wedding. I'd love to hear Street of Dreams, who wrote Street of Dreams with him, I'd love to hear it, there are more unreleased Lennon songs.......
Milk and Honey was not planned… actually the majority of the songs on that album were some of the first songs recorded during the sessions ("I'm Stepping Out" was the first song to be recorded when John returned to the studio)… so he was not working on Milk and Honey as such, and was not even thinking about a follow up album (Double Fantasy had only been out a matter of weeks, and they had not even started promoting it yet)
@@knockedoutloaded279 he might have planned to do something with the with the songs, but I have always had my doubts… “Nobody Told Me” was destined for Ringo (even in the demos John starts with “this one is for Ritchie”), so that’s one song down (and probably the strongest of Johns M&H albums)… he may have started “planning”, but probably not a lot of thought at that point… walking on thin ice I have always suspected was John probably going back to his Beatles days with double A-sides non-album singles, and it was more to give Yoko some more material for the 1981 tour (any tour would have been a co-headliner tour, not a solo John tour, so Yoko needed some more stuff for that tour)
Great video! Please remember Anthony Davilio too (Award winning Grammy Arranger for "Double Fantasy ")He did phenomenal work and was also a creative genius on the arrangements for this album. He was a very close family friend of mine and was very greatful to have had the opportunity to work with John, Yoko and all the musicians that contributed to the "Double Fantasy" Album!🙏♥️
Another great show as always! Thanks for sharing the interviews you can't see anywhere else! Great job my friend! Such a tragic death of John in 1980. No telling what he would be doing today
It’s actually quite surprising just how much of the Double Fantasy band have appeared on Beatles Solo albums… a good chunk appear on Ringos “Ringo the 4th” album, George used a few on them, and Paul used one or two on ram
@@artistsonrecord yes, Hugh McCracken (RAM), Tony Levin (Ringo the 4th), Andy Newmark (Dark Horse, Extra Texture, George Harrsion).... even Arthur Jenkins was a regular appearance on Lennon solo albums.
From the audio of said video that was shot of the recording proceedings, John said, “I know what I look like: a bird!”; to my ears it didn’t sound like he was particularly self-conscious about his appearance at that point…If I had to guess, Yoko was likely responsible for the footage never seeing the light of day in its entirety, likely because she didn’t care to pay those parties for their work…
Just curious why didn’t John put his song “Help me to help myself” on the Milk and Honey Album because it’s a beautiful song. Does anyone have information on that beautiful song ?🤔
Milk and Honey wasn't finished at the time of John's murder. Yoko completed the album in 1983-84. So, the songs included on the album was her decision.
I prefer some of the home demos to the master recordings - for example there is a far better version of John playing guitar and singing STARTING OVER onto a cassette at home - it is much better then the master

Great Comment! You are right, it is pretty wild when you think about it.

Why doesn't Jack put some of this stuff on utube, esp Street of Dreams demo.......
Maybe Yoko doesn't want that and Jack is respectful of her position.
@@chrishyde1216 I think it will come out in 2030 on DF boxset..
