Great video. Humorous and realistic portrayal of bone fishing.
Yeah, XP!!!!!
I love that rod! Lots of great memories with that rod in my hand. Do you have a favorite current Sage model?
@@ConfluenceOutfitters Me and my mates fished a lot for bonefish with XP 10 footers; XP6101, 7100 and 8100, loved them for that. And favorites...mhh.. love my SPL282, RPL+590, XP6101, ZAXIS796, ONE896, Xi2990, X1090! Favorite out of those will be the SPL282. And least fished.
Coming from a trout and steelhead fisherman, who grew up on supercharged rainbows fresh from the ocean. it’s such a challenge hooking a bonefish you really do have to listen to your guide and humble yourself. You almost have to throw all knowledge of everything you know out the door, and just become new again. If you set a bonefish, you will never hook one. I’m super jealous of you guys but also fascinated and I love this video. Deneki is the Mecca of guide services. And Andros is my Mount Everest to climb hopefully one day I can be one of those boats
Love the video thank you for sharing
Thanks! (Fellow Alaskan transplanted to Northern Cali now)… you are SOOOO right!
It also helps to have gotchas with working hooks 😂
@@ConfluenceOutfitters just being on the water would be enough for me. Good friends good vibes and also glad to hear from a fellow Alaskan. Keep up the good work 🥂
Thanks@@Alaskaflyfishing ! Appreciate your encouragement!

I’m also thinking of driving My Son up from Southern California where he lives at the moment to home here in Anchorage. But fishing our way all the way up the coast, I keep hearing about the Mccloud being the number one voted river for Flyfishing in the entire United States. I guess it had a beautiful steelhead run. Before they went extinct and a population of giant rainbows, but over fishing and logging destroyed their habitat. I guess it’s coming back now and the fish are looking beautiful. The water is amazing from what I’ve seen. Have you fished it ? I used to live in Southern California but being born and raised here in Alaska transplanted down there I just couldn’t do it. I’m too used to having rivers and streams all to myself walking alone in the woods, not having to worry about garbage being littered on the banks, flying in my plane to rivers, nobody’s set foot on. I’ll ask it about three years and it was culture. Shock had to move back up here Home Sweet Home third generation Alaskan.
Bonefish are a blast! My best fish took me well into my backing on the first run, I worked him in almost to the boat, and he took me well into my backing on a second run-and it was only a 3 lb fish! Amazing strength.
Cool stuff!
Old habits die hard. Trout fisherman I would assume. Nice job boys. If it makes you feel better I will strip set 5x when I trout fish up in the mountains. Breaks everytime on the big ones.
Take that guide up into some high elevation, watch It goes both ways 💀
Great vid fellas
