  • ARTinoise Re.corder is an innovative and versatile instrument that offers the user a complete path of growth, starting from familiar use in its original acoustic form, moving on to digital use via smartphone or tablet through its App to experiment with new sounds and expressive possibilities, to semi-professional use as a MIDI controller via pc or mac to use with any DAW and high quality sound libraries and access all aspects of professional music composition and recording.
Re.corder might represent a suitable choice to students wishing to learn and practice on the instrument anywhere with headphones, wind instrumentalists unfamiliar with staff writing wanting to transcribe scores, amateur musicians looking for a portable, inexpensive yet capable electronic wind instrument, or even to beatmakers looking to move away from keyboards and try new ways of interacting with sounds.

As a Re.corder user, (now, for approx. ~2 years) I have the same opinion as "@rogerredford4010" in his objective statement 😥.
    • For me (and not only for me ...) it seems, that there is NOT ANY noticeable progress AND / OR support for actual Re.Corder's users ... provided directly by it's creator: Artinoise Co.
Although I have succesfully solved previous key problem with LATENCY (on more Android v.10 - v.12 devices), using an external solution: basic, pocket MIDI sound module ("MiniEngine" from "MidiPlus"), with BLE→USB dongle, there is at present still NOT ANY possibility of [TRANSPOSE] the transmitted tones directly from Re.Corder controller.
    • At present (July 2024) - the Re.Corder itself, (with still "original" firmware ...) has only the [OCTAVE] switch +/-, available via shortcuts of 3x sensor buttons ( ○ ◘ ► ).
Additional +3 common MIDI features provides me an external sound module (mentioned above ↑ ) → [VOLUME] (1-128) / [PROGRAM] (128x GeneralMIDI sounds) / [REVERB] (1-128), switchable via it's rotation encoder.
But so common and so standard MIDI function as a [TRANSPOSE] ( +6# / -6b ) has neither Re.Corder itself, nor the common and affordable sound modules (maybe except of new ... & quite bulky and acumulator-less: "PianoBox PRO HOST" - á ~158 € 🧐]
► And now, there is on FB announcment about an HW module, about this "Re.Ceiver" (↑), prepared directly to Artinoise? → and again, again without ONE elementary MIDI function [TRANSPOSE]. So, what to say here? 🤕... maybe just: a big shame - and also missed opportunity 😭.

Not available in the US... Despite soundmachines stating that their products would be available via their US distributors on their website.

I have the re.corder. As much as I like it, and although I have heavily modified mine to add some of the features I wanted, I have a little criticism here. You did not really do the instrument justice as it was just overshadowed by everything else going on. And other than a few notes and a little pitch-bend, you didn't do anything with it.. I was expecting a solo with the synth as background... bit of a wasted opportunity in my opinion.

What do you mean "with the synth in the background"? This "recorder" is a MIDI controller that plays the synth! It doesn't make sounds, but rather it tells the synth what sounds to make.

@@al.cavalu I don't know if you are watching the same video, but aside from a few sounds, most of what is playing is coming from the syth (the big thing on the table) and not controlled by the re-corder... I know it is a controller, but not put to it's best use here..
