You are an absolute SAINT!!!! I've been avoiding playing Carcassonne with farmers and fields for literally almost two years because I have never had it explained to me in a way that made sense. I understood your explanation immediately though! If people in the future read this comment, the key to teaching someone or learning about farmers and fields is that the Meeple stay there until the end of the game.
Excellent video, we were stuck on the scoring part your explanation is perfect, we were using farmers but had no idea how to point them, we do now! Thanks
@@TheDarkImp i have The game from sometimes, and my family just prefered catan. After i saw your describing,i am ready and pleased to introduce this new game.I'm sure that is a great gameboard.
This was very clear so hoping you can help re the Abbott and the Garden. Two conflicting sets of official written Rules: one says any meeple can be played on a garden while the other says, quite specifically, that only the Abbott can be played on a garden. Would really love to get your view. Many thanks.
Hi Rose, Thanks for your message. Always so helpful when rules contradict themselves in different versions! There are multiple versions of the Carcassonne rules which tend to confuse people and sometimes spark disagreements. I play that the abbot only can go in the gardens. The Carcassonne app also has this rule.
I'm afraid I don't have an abbots video. However, from memory, the Abbot works like a monk but you may remove it before it is completely surrounded. You can only place OR remove the abbot on a single turn, you can't score it then move it somewhere else on the same turn.
You are just trying to get a majority of your farmers in a field. Each field only scores once (though it is possible for multiple players to all score the field if they each have the same number of farmers). If you have two farmers in a field and that is more than all other players in the same field, only you score the field and you score it once.
They can be, for sure. But I've found that it's pretty easy to beat beginners just by conducting hostile takeovers of cities and roads anyway. So I guess the whole game favours those with experience. What do you think?

Thank you. I think I may have found my calling. It's quite niche, but I'll take it. From now on I'm a professional Carcassonne Farmer Explainer.

Thank you, I am new to the game and always ended up missing out on so many points for not using the farmers.
Do you have a similar video on abbots?

What if you have two of your own farmers on the same field? Do you score once or twice?

I learned how to play farmers by playing on pc and there's an option to turn on farmer territory and highlights your land with your color.
Yes, the app does that too. It's sooooo handy!
Fab. 👍
I'm never gonna be able to explain this to my friends lol. At least I get it now, thanks
Show them this video!
Farmers are too OP if you don't play with same one at exactly same level as you.
