- On June 23rd and 24th, 1314, the Battle of Bannockburn took place, a pivotal moment in the Wars of Scottish Independence that would shape the fate of Scotland forever. This battle was a turning point in Scottish history, marking a significant shift in the balance of power between Scotland and England.
The Scots faced an uphill battle, quite literally, as they prepared to take on the English army. Led by King Edward II of England, the English forces were massive, with some estimates suggesting they outnumbered the Scots by as many as six to one. The Scots, on the other hand, were led by Robert the Bruce, a man determined to secure Scotland's independence. The dire situation leading up to the battle was further complicated by the fact that Scotland's nobles were divided, with some supporting the English claim to the Scottish throne.

Interesting original video. I would like to see you to react more to history videos like that. I've already sent you recommendations some days ago because of your "Germany" video.
Constructive meant tip:
When you stop history videos and similar videos for making comments: After you are done with commenting try to go back two seconds in the original video and start from there to continue to watch the video. All bigger reactors are doing that, because on that way you are not chopping jokes and important informations in half. You did that chopping in half of several informations here, but the lost informations were not that important in this reaction by coincidence.

Here’s some answers to your questions.
The battle took place simply because england wanted to conquer and control Scotland and make it a part of England. Scotland is famously called “Scotland the brave” because even though they where a small country with smaller armies the men always fought back and won. A famous Scottish saying is “as long as there’s just 100 of us left Scotland will survive”
Many larger countries tried to conquer Scotland but none ever did. Scotland defeated England (the strongest army in the word at the time) they also defeated the Roman Empire, Viking armies of Denmark and Norway and even helped Ireland defend their country too. Scottish forces even helped Spain.
Scotland has never been apart of England. England tried to make it so. They refused to accept Scotland as its own country but after this battle the English accepted defeat and accepted Scotland would stay Scotland. Giving meaning to the national anthem “sent him homeward to think again”
Scotland eventually ended up part of the uk but that’s not England it’s 4 countries united Scotland , northern Ireland, wales and England. In fact the uk came about because a Scottish king became king of England also and formed the United Kingdom. After many years of war the two countries became allies, but fights among them still happened.
The Scottish king who defeated England at bannockburn said “we don’t fight for glory or for wealth or honour we only fight for freedom. Freedom which no good man surrenders except with his life”
