    Just a few amendments and additions.
    Andrew de Moray (Andrew Murray) was the Scottish General at Stirling Bridge. It was his tactics which won the day. Unfortunately for Scotland, Moray was mortally wounded at Stirling Bridge and died from his injuries a couple of months later.
    Wallace was captured in Robroyston (north of Glasgow) by a Scottish nobleman by the name of John de Menteith, a former ally of Wallace. He was taken and imprisoned in Dumbarton Castle before being sent to London and executed.
    When the English arrived in Perth in 1306, Bruce had approached them, unaware that there would be no terms of chivalry. Pembroke refused but accepted the offer of battle in the morning. Bruce knowing Pembroke to be an honourable Man accepted and retreated to Methven Wood without setting up any watch. The English attacked before dawn, while the Scots army were still asleep, barely 500 survived, with over 4000 being slain or captured. During his retreat Bruce's small force was ambushed by the McDougalls(allies of the Comyn) at Dalrigh(pronounced Dal- rye) and soundly defeated. Bruce and around 50 Men were able to escape the slaughter.

    This has to be the most accurate depiction of this battle i have ever seen, I have seen many… the Scottish schiltrons would have been devastating against cavalry, especially if the archers were dispatched.

    Most spectacular work, it is great to see history made cinematic, and this much detail given to individual commanders and their colors. Splendid sir, hope you have as many kids as there are commanders here

    The military strategy of Robert the Bruce against a hugely superior force is still one of the most astounding victories in history.

    These videos are absolutely stunning! Can you tell me how you are able to make these with Warband? These look like custom maps (especially the 100 years war videos, with stakes). You mention a number of mods you use---how can one use these mods simultaneously? Thank you!

    • @amadbiscuit
      @amadbiscuit  Рік тому +2

      Thank you! 🙂 The Warband scenes I made in custom battle mode, with cheats / edit mode enabled. There are mod tools available, OpenBRF and Morgh's editor, that one can use to combine resources from multiple mods into one mod. Some of the lord surcoats, and coats of arms, did not exist in any mod, so I created them with GIMP and added them.

    It’s funny battle axe wielding & breaking by high ranking nobility or kings is a theme in this age. I’m thinking of the gesta stephani when King Stephen has a sword and then axe break, and is eventually hit in the head after fighting valiantly. Funnily enough Jean ii Capet-Valois at Poitiers picked up a battle-ax for the last ditch attempt and was captured by the Earl of Warwick.

    Amazing video. Thank you for this one, I am Scottish and this was a pivotal battle for us at the time. James Douglas, Robert the Bruce and William Wallace are our national heroes.
    Another note was that the English soldiers were kept up all night as Edward suspected a night ambush, so they were very tired on the day of battle.
    Keep up the good work!

    Fun fact about Robert The Bruce (Robert De Brus). Much like other nobility of what is now the UK. He was decended from Norman nobility.
    His ancestor who was also called Robert De Brus, actually fought on the Anglo-Norman side against the Scots at the Battle of the Standard.

      After edward overthrew john balliol scotland was effectively a puppet of england untill bruce sucessfully expelled the english from scotland.

      England wasn’t the British empire at that point. Scotland has been usurped over time, however, it was the people of Scotland that chose to join with England with the act of union.
