As a passenger, I hated shared rides because they made meì late for work in order to save a few pennies; as a driver, I definitely despise shared rides.

I rejected my first Uber Share yesterday. It’s Upfront pricing on steroids. Meaning a deeper fare cut than upfront pricing. Uber programmers must be on drugs.
This just goes to show how much they care about safety
All weekend UberX/Share is the only setting that appeared "green/busy", which is bs. People aren't interested in sharing rides.
Uber is losing sight of so many things. Uber must be sooo saturated. This past weekend was one of the slowest I've seen. Too many drivers.
My problem with Uber Share is not having the ability to go in a destination I feel comfortable with. Did it twice and both times took me way out of where I wanted to be. Uber share is just a way for Uber to control how and where you drive.

I have documented evidence of Uber scamming the driver AND the rider. DOCUMENTED!!!!
Caught them repeatedly skimming $2-5 each ride and the same rider they were grossly overcharging them. When I pointed it out to the rider, they were furious.
Uber dumped me over an alleged racial comment, but in fact it was because I repeatedly passed on $2.62 fares.
I despise Uber, and have filed a report with the BBB

You are right, the shared option is a sham. I made the mistake of picking up a second passenger who was drunk. He harassed the other passenger and complained the entire ride because he didn't like sharing a ride. Never again will I do a shared ride. Uber tried to be slick by putting that option back on again un-noticed. We need to protest to have this removed again.
I did not miss Shared or Pool rides since the pandemic. Almost all of my rider issues came from these types of rides.
I can’t get any ride requests unless I have the UberX and Share option activated. However I won’t accept ANY shared ride requests. Sounds like a similar screw job of a stacked Uber Eats order.
Would it be $17 for rider if it ended up a shared ride and $21 if not? Driver definitely getting screwed
What I do is after picking up the customer, I go in preferences & switch off uberx/share until the 1st ride is over.
So if I have female passenger that drunk from club and end up picking up a random dude how safe is that for her and driver this safety just went out window
Sadly, it's not just ladies, but it's one of the easiest situations to get thru peoples head. Especially when the pax has even less control of whom is picked up than a driver does in that scenario.

You are right, man. They're just adding up the ride without letting drivers know where that person is going. No transparency. Uber has done that shit b4 and started again. I simply declined all uber share rides.
I got an UberX ride and the guy had to be at LA international Airport in a half hour and by taking the other driver and then they insist on you taking them to their exact destination which you don’t have to anyway to go and start yelling at me that he was going to miss his plane so I don’t understand this UberX crap at all

I have asked Uber a few times now to take me off share I didn't sign up for that and I don't want that problem in my car to date they still have not taken me off share I thought we were independent contractors not employees

I feel like the $17 would be paid if another passenger happen to need to go to a route or destination similar enough to fit as a shared trip and it happened, but the passenger would only save 30 cents or so if there happen to NOT be another passenger that fit the route.
The driver can simply tap the pause or stop button once the trip starts and there won’t be a second share pick up, and once the driver is within 1 mile from the destination, resume the app as normal.
Screwber as well as Shaft don’t realize the dangerous game they are playing. All it will take is a new rideshare company to be established that considers the benefits of both driver and rider and within a few years will not only dominate market share, but put these corporate hogs out of business.

I received a message today that now Uber X Share will now accommodate up to three passengers now.

It is $2 savings for each additional passenger/stop.
I got a bonus offer for like $120 for 40 rides - the next few offers only got like $30 for 40 rides. It’s like daylight savings time, cutting off one end of a rug and sewing it on the other side.

I opt out of Uber share,last time I had Uber sharemthe rider got mad because he did not realize that he ordered share ride,and keep telling where to go but I said I have another pick up,then he shut up.

If by mistake that a driver accepted an ubet x share and pickdd up the first rider and hit the no xtra stop, would that cancell out any add ons?
When they give me shared trip I turn of Uber then cut on Lyft.

I'm finishing my second week driving. I've had two share rides. With both the second trips were nightmares. One had me running down a road that was close to an off road tail. Only Four wheel drive tucks were traveling on it. The second I was routed through down town at rush hour. I think the app attaches rides from hell to the share. Is there a way to see someone is doing a share? I haven't really noticed. I don't want any more of them.
Thank you for enlightening us with this video. I’ve never done an Uber X shared ride and now I never will. To tell you the truth I’m about ready to give up the whole Uber X thing altogether. I don’t think the pay is worth it for the amount of miles you drive along with the wear and tear you are putting on your vehicle. I’ve been making okay with Door Dash alone. lol! Not to say that DoorDash is perfect and well never con you because we both know it’s is us vs. them. No matter who you are driving for in the gig industry you have to watch yourself and keep yourself from being played. By the way, I just liked and subscribed. I drive for UberX a little bit north of Seattle. I just got a message stating that they overpaid me by 30 some odd dollars. Now they say they're taking it back in for installments of eight dollars and change each. Is this normal? unfortunately it does me no good to reach out to Uber so I'm asking you. Thanks,

Honestly, shared rides take the rider WAY out of their way to drop off the other rider and constantly causes problems. I had picked up a sweet young lady at the end of her long day at work and the ride she shared took me WAY up in the hills of LA (nearly lost GPS/signal on my phone) just to arrive at a teenager party and the girls were a group of 4 and they BEGGED me to just pile them all in and would give me a tip. I told them absolutely NOT! The sweet passenger was totally understanding and as we discussed it on the way to dropping her off, I said if anything, what about her inconvenience? SHE should get that tip if I were to disrespect her ride by accepting that mess!
UberX-Shares are my NIGHTMARES. At least one of the riders takes FOREVER to get to the dang pickup spot and honestly, I did the math and it's not worth my time, or hassle EVEN if the ride were to give me a bit more profit (which it DOES NOT).
I will not do any share rides and will decline everyone I see. I am really not clear on how it works. Do both riders have to agree to share? If I ever had to use an Uber and the ride is going to pick up another riders i will flip out.

Ride sharing apps owners most put in jail for scamming riders and drivers in the same time! drivers needs to do strike for a week at least to force the CEOs change the pay rate, drivers getting a bus rate. let's do strike guys please, I know its hard on you, but it will change the pay rate.

Only true in America. In Australia the driver is getting the 72.5% of the minimum on both. $34 (2*17) which is $24.65. If each rider is paying $17
